    How Good is the 2028 Quarterback Class? | Ranking the Top 5 Signal Callers

    The 2028 NFL Draft quarterback class is already looking exciting, with a mix of elite arm talent, dynamic athleticism, polished pocket passers, and high-upside prospects. With plenty of college football still to play, here's my ranking of the top five quarterbacks in the 2028 class right now. From raw physical tools to impressive processing and pocket presence, these five quarterbacks offer very different paths to NFL success. And while there's still plenty of development ahead, some of these prospects are already making a serious impression. 🏈 My Top 5 Quarterbacks in the 2028 NFL Draft Class: Malik Washington — Maryland An explosive athlete with a powerful arm and exciting upside, but still developing his deep accuracy and decision-making consistency. Keelon Russell — Alabama A dangerous dual-threat quarterback with elusive athleticism, impressive ball placement, and the ability to extend plays. Improving his pocket awareness will be key. Braden Atkinson — Oregon State A breakout passer with excellent pocket presence, impressive touch on deep throws, and the ability to anticipate pressure despite his physical limitations. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele — California A talented quarterback with a quick release, precise ball placement, impressive back-shoulder throws, and the ability to make plays off-script. Kamario Taylor — Mississippi State An elite combination of arm strength, athleticism, and rapidly improving processing. Taylor's physical tools and mental development give him tremendous potential. These rankings reflect my evaluations at this point in the 2026 season. There's still plenty of time for prospects to rise, fall, and change the conversation before the 2028 NFL Draft.     Miami's Travis Hunter? | A'mir Sears Film Breakdown

    A'mir Sears is one of the most unique players in the 2027 recruiting class. The five-star athlete reclassified from 2028 to 2027 and committed to the Miami Hurricanes, bringing the ability to impact the game on both sides of the football. Against No. 1 Bishop Gorman, Sears showed exactly why he's generating so much attention, recording five catches for 67 yards and two touchdowns while also intercepting the football three times. In this breakdown, we look at what makes Sears such a special athlete and football player, including his smooth movement, sudden route running, defensive instincts, hip fluidity, short-area quickness and impressive ball skills. We also examine the biggest question surrounding his future: should he focus on defense, offense, or potentially play both sides of the ball at Miami?     Kevin Hartsfield Film Breakdown | #1 2028 Running Back Recruit

    Kevin Hartsfield is quickly emerging as one of the top running backs in the 2028 recruiting class. As a sophomore at Newton in 2025, Hartsfield rushed for 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging an impressive 12.3 yards per carry against 6A competition in Georgia. In this film breakdown, we take a closer look at what makes Hartsfield such an exciting prospect. His straight-line speed immediately stands out, with explosive acceleration, multiple gears and the ability to cover significant ground with every stride. His track background shows up when he gets into the open field and starts pulling away from defenders. We also break down Hartsfield's elusiveness and his ability to read pursuit angles. Rather than relying on a series of flashy cuts, he efficiently takes advantage of the leverage defenders give him, using sharp one-foot cuts to stay moving downhill. The running style drew comparisons to Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy, particularly in their straight-line efficiency, explosiveness and ability to attack defensive leverage. This is not a player comparison, but rather a look at the similarities in how the two backs run the football.     Dae'Quan Wright Transfers to LSU | Tight End Film Breakdown

    Former Ole Miss tight end Dae'Quan Wright is headed to LSU after going undrafted and spending time with the Cleveland Browns. In this film breakdown, we look at what made Wright an intriguing NFL prospect and what he can bring to the Tigers in 2026. Wright's calling card is his ability after the catch. He recorded 635 receiving yards at Ole Miss in 2025, with roughly 400 of those yards coming after the catch. At 6'4", 246 pounds, Wright can build up speed in space and use his size and momentum to create explosive plays. We also break down Wright's blocking ability, particularly as a move tight end, H-back, lead blocker and screen blocker. His physicality and efficiency in space stand out, while his route running remains the biggest area where he needs to improve. Wright has the athletic ability to create more separation, but he needs to show greater urgency and consistency in his routes. With LSU already familiar with his previous system, Wright has a chance to contribute quickly and potentially use his second opportunity in college football to put better film on tape.     Tanook Hines Film Breakdown | USC's Breakout True Freshman WR

    Tanook Hines made an immediate impact as a true freshman at USC in 2025, finishing with 560 receiving yards while playing alongside future NFL talent. In this breakdown, we dive into what makes Hines such an intriguing wide receiver prospect, starting with his elite straight-line speed, acceleration and ability to create separation vertically. We also examine his route-running traits, suddenness at the top of routes, ball skills and ability to track difficult throws at full speed. Hines still has areas to develop, including handling physical coverage, sinking his hips more effectively and becoming a more complete route runner. With USC's receiver room changing heading into 2026, Hines has an opportunity to expand his role and show that his skill set can translate beyond being a dynamic vertical threat.     #1 2028 Recruit | Kameron McGee Film Breakdown

    I was scrolling 247's 2028 recruit rankings and saw a name at the top I didn't recognize — Kameron McGee. I turned on his sophomore film at Brother Rice in Chicago. Definitely impressed. In this video, I break down exactly why the 6'4", 245 lb edge rusher is rated where he is: the rare length (35.5" arms according to his Hudl profile, which would be 97th percentile at the combine), the short-area quickness to flash across an offensive tackle's face at the last second and attack either shoulder, and the ankle flexibility to plant and redirect back toward the quarterback at the top of the arc. I also use Dylan Stewart's film to show what that short-area quickness looks like at the college level — and what the ankle flexion difference means when it comes to converting pressure into sacks. Kameron McGee hasn't played his best football yet. That's a statement about how high the ceiling is, not how raw he is. Going to be a lot of fun to follow his recruiting as it heats up.     Rolijah Hardy Film Breakdown | Indiana's Physical Linebacker

    Rolijah Hardy is 5'11", 230 lbs. He finished 2025 with 8 sacks. And watching his film set a new standard for how I evaluate how linebackers handle blocks. In this video, I break down what makes the Indiana linebacker such a technically elite player: the low pad level and powerful base that lets him anchor at the line of scrimmage like a defensive tackle, the violent hand initiation that makes arm length irrelevant, and the ability to both take on blocks physically and navigate around them when needed. I also cover his pass coverage — zone instincts that let him get depth, find receivers, and come downhill violently — and why his short-area quickness shows up in man coverage in a way you don't usually expect from a linebacker. He wasn't given the physical gifts some other guys get. He just plays technically better than almost anyone in the country. You can learn a lot about football by watching Rolijah Hardy. There's a rep in this video against a second-team All-Big Ten offensive lineman where he just drives him backward into the backfield at the Big Ten Championship.     Nate Sheppard Film Breakdown | Duke's Breakout True Freshman

    I was watching Darian Mensah film when I decided to also track Duke's running back. I knew Nate Sheppard was good going in — 1,100 rushing yards, 11 touchdowns, 5.7 yards per carry, and nearly 300 receiving yards as a true freshman. Watching the film, I was even more impressed. In this video, I break down exactly what makes the Duke running back so special: the way he stays so low and square to the line of scrimmage that defenders literally can't track him until he's already past them, the elite elusiveness and short-area quickness that lets him create yards when nothing is there, and the physicality that makes him a genuine north-south threat too when the lane opens up. He's not just a great athlete — there are a lot of great athletes. Nate Sheppard already knows how to use those traits at a level you almost never see from a true freshman. He can't declare until the 2028 NFL Draft. Duke fans have a couple more seasons of this.
