From Small-Town Kentucky to Actress, Model & Entrepreneur | Ashe Parker

Actress. Model. Photographer. Entrepreneur. Life coach. Ashe Parker has built a life around creativity, taking chances, and refusing to let where she came from determine where she could go. Growing up in Harlan County, Kentucky, Ashe eventually made her way to Lexington and pursued opportunities in modeling, acting, photography, and entrepreneurship. Today, she is the founder of Bad Ashe Media and continues building her career across multiple creative industries. In this episode of GITT Up with Adam Larkin, Ashe and I go beyond what people see on social media and talk about the journey behind building a life and career on your own terms. We get into acting and modeling, entrepreneurship, creating Bad Ashe Media, social media, authenticity, faith, mindset, finding purpose, believing in yourself, and what it really takes to keep moving forward when you're building something from the ground up. Ashe's story is a reminder that where you start doesn't have to determine where you finish. This is a conversation about betting on yourself, creating your own opportunities, and having the courage to build the life you actually want. I Watched My Friend Get Shot at 14 — Then Drugs & Prison Took Over | Steven Kidwell

At just 14 years old, Steven Kidwell watched his friend get shot. What followed was a path through drugs, dropping out of school, drug trafficking, incarceration, and consequences that could have defined the rest of his life. But Steven Kidwell’s story didn’t end in prison. In this conversation, Steven takes me inside the experiences that shaped him, the decisions that nearly destroyed his future, and the turning point that eventually led him toward recovery. After entering the Hope Program, Steven began rebuilding his life. His clean date is May 13, 2016. He returned to something that had been part of him since he was young: music. Poetry became hip-hop. Pain became purpose. And the same experiences that once threatened to destroy Steven’s life eventually became part of the story he could use to reach other people. In 2021, Steven opened A New Way to Live, giving him another opportunity to take what he had lived through and use it to help others. We talk about: • Witnessing his friend being shot at 14 • Drugs and substance use • Dropping out of school • Drug trafficking and incarceration • The consequences of his decisions • The Hope Program • Recovery and rebuilding his life • Faith and purpose • Poetry, hip-hop, and music • Turning pain into something meaningful • Helping others through A New Way to Live • What it takes to completely change the direction of your life This is a newly remastered GITT Up edition of my conversation with Steven Kidwell, featuring updated production and a new GITT Up 2.0 presentation. Steven’s past is part of his story. It doesn’t have to determine his future. Neither does yours.   ABOUT GITT UP WITH ADAM LARKIN GITT Up with Adam Larkin brings you raw, long-form conversations with CEOs, entrepreneurs, creators, and people with incredible comeback stories. 20+ Years Sober: From Rock Bottom to Magnetic Abundance | Rebecca Whitman

What does abundance really look like when you've had to completely rebuild your life? I sat down with Rebecca Whitman, entrepreneur, bestselling author, keynote speaker, host of the Balanced, Beautiful & Abundant Podcast, and creator of the Magnetic Abundance approach. Rebecca has also been sober for more than two decades, making her story about much more than business success, mindset, or personal development. It's a real comeback story. In this episode of GITT Up with Adam Larkin, Rebecca and I talk about sobriety, entrepreneurship, mindset, spirituality, relationships, personal growth, and what she's learned from building a life and career around helping others pursue success without sacrificing everything else in the process. We also get into the idea of abundance without constant hustle — why achievement alone doesn't necessarily create fulfillment, how alignment can change the way we approach success, and what it takes to continue reinventing yourself through different seasons of life. For me, this conversation hits several of the reasons I created GITT Up in the first place: recovery, entrepreneurship, faith, personal development, adversity, and what happens when somebody decides their past isn't going to determine their future. He Watched His Mother Be Assaulted — Then Lost His Father & Turned to Drugs | Craigory Dyer

Craigory Dyer experienced more trauma as a child than most people should ever have to endure. He witnessed his mother being sexually assaulted. Within roughly a year, his father passed away. Craigory was left growing up without his dad while carrying experiences he didn’t yet know how to process. Eventually, drugs became part of the way he coped. I sat down with Craigory because I understand what it’s like when pain, trauma, loss, and addiction become intertwined — and how difficult it can be to find your way back out. In this episode of GITT Up with Adam Larkin, Craigory opens up about his childhood, losing his father, the years he spent battling drugs, and the role God, faith, and sobriety now play in his life. This isn’t a polished highlight reel. It’s a conversation about what happens when childhood trauma follows you into adulthood — and what can happen when you finally begin confronting the pain instead of trying to escape it. Craigory says finding God changed the direction of his life and that his faith continues to help him in his sobriety. We talk about childhood trauma, grief, losing a parent, addiction, drugs, recovery, sobriety, faith, God, healing, forgiveness, adversity, and rebuilding your life. This is Craigory Dyer’s story. 25+ Years in Business: Branding, Style & Reinvention | Pamula Honchell

Your image speaks before you ever say a word — and Pamula Honchell has spent more than 25 years understanding how to make that first impression count. I sat down with entrepreneur, personal stylist, image consultant, branding professional, and marketing veteran Pamula Honchell for a conversation about entrepreneurship, personal branding, confidence, fashion, marketing, relationships, and what it takes to stay relevant in business for decades. Pamula has spent more than 25 years working in advertising, marketing, and public relations. She is the owner of Fashionable Measures, where she helps clients refine their personal style and build confidence through how they present themselves, and she leads Monarch Promotion, specializing in advertising and public relations. Her experience has also taken her into the film industry as a wardrobe consultant and stylist. Pamula Honchell But I didn't bring Pamula on GITT Up just to talk about clothes. We talk about the connection between image and identity, why personal branding matters in business, how confidence affects the way you walk into a room, and what decades of entrepreneurship teach you that you simply can't learn overnight. Pamula has built a career around helping people and businesses understand how they are perceived — from their wardrobe and personal presentation to branding, promotion, and public relations. Her work also extends into community service and supporting other women in business. Pamula Honchell This conversation gets into entrepreneurship, longevity, networking, branding, confidence, reinvention, fashion, marketing, community involvement, and building relationships that last. From College Quarterback to Heroin & Meth — Now He Runs a Recovery Center | Brandon Franklin

Brandon Franklin went from playing quarterback and earning a college football scholarship to heroin, meth, homelessness, overdoses, jail, and drug court. I sat down with Brandon because his story shows just how far addiction can take someone — and how dramatically a life can change when recovery finally takes hold. Born in Fort Riley, Kansas, Brandon says he started smoking and drinking around 9 or 10 years old. Sports became a major part of his life, and he eventually became a high school quarterback. Then injuries introduced him to prescription pills. After breaking his ankle and later tearing the tendon that held his kneecap in place, Brandon began abusing the medication he was prescribed. He says he was eventually getting high before football games and taking significant amounts of Triple C’s. Despite everything happening behind the scenes, Brandon earned a scholarship to play football at the University of the Cumberlands. But addiction followed him there. Drinking, drugs, and stealing eventually got him kicked out of school. He tried joining the military but couldn’t pass a drug test, so he turned to synthetic marijuana. His addiction continued progressing into cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin. Then came jail. Treatment centers. Drug court. Homelessness. And multiple overdoses — including an overdose while he was already in drug court. Brandon entered long-term treatment initially trying to stay out of jail. But something eventually changed. He worked the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, worked with a sponsor, completed drug court, leaned into prayer, and began building a completely different life. The crazy part? He never wanted to work in recovery. Today, Brandon and his wife run Bluegrass Recovery LLC, providing structured recovery environments for men, women, and couples. Their program incorporates structure, housing planning, and work with horses while helping clients prepare for life after completing the program. His wife dreams of eventually opening a homeless shelter. Brandon wants to create a workout facility focused on transformation. In this episode, Brandon and I get into childhood substance use, football, prescription pill addiction, college athletics, heroin, meth, cocaine, homelessness, overdose, jail, drug court, AA, the 12 Steps, faith, entrepreneurship, recovery, and finding purpose in the same world he once wanted nothing to do with. Brandon describes his old life as being a “slave in my own mind.” Today, he says he is free from King Alcohol and King Heroin — and living a life with purpose. This is a comeback story. Taken From Her Mother at 18 Months — From Foster Care to Film & Music | Samantha Dudley

I sat down with Samantha Dudley to talk about a life that started with circumstances she had absolutely no control over — and what she chose to build from them. Samantha was taken from her mother at just 18 months old, along with her siblings, because of alcoholism, abuse, and neglect. She spent much of her early childhood as an orphan, from 18 months until around eight years old, and remained in foster care until age 12. But there was something Samantha had almost from the beginning: Music. She says she has been singing since she was three years old. Influenced by artists like Whitney Houston and Monica, Samantha continued developing her voice throughout childhood. At 12, she became the first singer to perform at a Diane Moore Dance Academy recital and later performed with different choirs and vocal groups. Her story eventually expanded beyond music. Since 2012, Samantha has been producing films alongside her partner, Chase Dudley, while continuing her career as an R&B/Soul singer and songwriter. She also brought those worlds together by contributing music to film projects including Payton's Burden. But this conversation isn't just about singing or making movies. I wanted to understand what happens inside someone who experiences childhood trauma, parental alcoholism, abuse, neglect, separation from siblings and family, orphanhood, and foster care — and still finds a way to create something with their life. Samantha and I talk about her childhood, being removed from her mother, growing up in the foster care system, discovering her voice, music, songwriting, filmmaking, and continuing to pursue both film and music today. That's what GITT Up with Adam Larkin is built around. I want the story underneath what people see today. The childhood. The adversity. The decisions. The failures. The sacrifices. The opportunities. The turning points. And what somebody did with the hand they were dealt. Inside Hollywood: Producing Survivor, The Stand In & More | Danny Tepper

I sat down with Danny Tepper, a longtime television and film producer whose career has taken him behind the scenes of some major productions. Danny has worked on projects including Survivor, America’s Next Top Model, The Stand In, Secret Celebrity Renovation, Expedition from Hell: The Lost Tapes, and more. But I didn’t bring Danny on GITT Up to read through his IMDb credits. I wanted to know what actually happens behind the camera. What does it take to survive in television and film for decades? How do productions really come together? What happens when the cameras stop rolling? And what does the audience never see? Danny and I get into the reality of working in television and film, producing major projects, navigating the entertainment business, making opportunities happen, and what he has learned from years inside the industry. We also talk about Survivor, reality television, Hollywood, filmmaking, producing, and the business behind creating entertainment that millions of people eventually see on a screen. That’s exactly why I built GITT Up with Adam Larkin. I’m interested in what happens before the success everyone sees. Whether I’m sitting across from a CEO, entrepreneur, creator, producer, athlete, expert, or someone who rebuilt their entire life, I want the real story. The decisions. The failures. The risks. The opportunities. The moments that changed everything. And the work nobody sees.
