    Crippled Symmetries - Retama Collective: Peruvian Voices in Berlin

    Gemeinsam mit den Gästen Gudrun Reschke und Ringela Riemke disktutiert Thomas Bruns Fragen, die bei der Ausarbeitung und beim Zuhören des Projekts Exhibited Music entstanden sind. Dabie geht es im ersten Teil insbesondere um die kammermusikalische Kommunikation, während die Diskussionsrunde dann im zweiten Teil noch einmal das Thema der musikalischen Stille aufgreift.

    Exhibited Music - part 3

    EXHIBITED MUSIC exhibited is an exhibition about the EXHIBITED MUSIC project, which was shown at the end of June 2025 at the Fahrbereitschaft. It addresses the question of how a concert project can be documented today alongside the usual video and audio recordings. We answer this question with a documentary, site-specific installation centred around the KNM Quartet’s recording of Brian Ferneyhough’s 2nd String Quartet. The exhibition will be complemented by a live podcast that will take place in the installation. Dutch artist Wouter Jaspers was responsible for the Physiological Rendering – Bio Sensor Imaging System. Thomas and Wouter discuss his work and touch on questions such as live stream versus pre-recorded stream, ethics in art, and how and whether contemporary chamber music can be visualised.

    Exhibited Music - kurz erzählt

    EXHIBITED MUSIC ermöglicht einen neuen (Ein)blick in das kammermusikalische Musikgeschehen auf der Bühne. Wir stellen aus, was sonst im Verborgenen bleibt: 100 Stunden Leben für 10 Minuten Musik. Anhand einer audiovisuell inszenierten Aufführung von Brian Ferneyhoughs zweitem Streichquartett zeigen wir das tägliche Training der Musiker*innen und den künstlerischen Austausch bei den Proben. Darüber hinaus übertragen Körpersensoren die Gefühlswelt der Interpret*innen in das Konzertgeschehen. Wie kaum ein zweiter Komponist steht Brian Ferneyhough für Komplexität. Erleben Sie mit uns höchste musikalische Ereignisdichte aus zwei Perspektiven zugleich: der des Publikums und der der Aufführenden.
