EPISODE 58 — BRAD LINDSAY: STILL HERE

EPISODE 57 — BRAD LINDSAY: STILL HERE How the f**k do you learn to live when life keeps asking you to survive? In this raw and honest episode of Who Is Your Hero, Buzz sits down with his Whitsunday Bald Eagles mate Brad Lindsay—a husband, father, footballer and survivor whose life changed after discovering a swollen testicle. Brad was diagnosed with a rare testicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma—diffuse large B-cell lymphoma—which later found its way to his brain. What followed was surgery, R-CHOP chemotherapy, high-dose methotrexate, radiation and an exhausting physical and mental battle. Brad opens up about hearing the words nobody is prepared for, wondering whether he would survive, shutting people out while trying to protect them, and the extraordinary strength of his wife Nikki, his children, family, mates and medical team. Now in remission, off the grog and rebuilding his life, Brad reflects on football, golf, mental health and the importance of genuinely asking someone, “How are you really going?” He also shares why he picked up a microphone and created his own podcast, Funnily Enough… Still Here—turning his experiences into honest conversations that may help somebody else feel less alone. There are laughs, plenty of footy b******t and moments that hit hard. Above everything else, this is a conversation about survival, support and appreciating the simple fact that you are still here. If this episode encourages just one bloke to get something checked, book a blood test or ask for help, it may save a life. Real heroes don’t wear capes—they wear courage. Support the show
