    KARTALK WITH KRUTCH | Ep. 9 PT 1 AR-AB

Send us a text n this powerful and unfiltered Episode 9 of KarTalk with Krutch, Krutch speaks directly with Philly rap legend AR-AB live from USP Big Sandy Federal Prison. This exclusive prison interview addresses the truth behind his incarceration, clears up long-standing rumors, and gives fans a rare and honest look at his mindset, his appeal, and what’s next. AR-AB makes it clear that DJ Vlad interviews had nothing to do with his case, and confirms that nothing from those interviews appeared in his paperwork. He explains how prosecutors referenced his rap lyrics and music videos, and how his influence and public profile played a role in his conviction. AR-AB also shares an important update: he has been granted oral arguments and is actively working on his appeal. While incarcerated, AR-AB has remained productive working with Glory Publications, helping fellow inmates become published authors, and encouraging others to use their voice through writing. Physical book copies are currently available on Amazon, with digital editions coming soon. Krutch and AR also dive deep into Hip Hop culture, discussing: • How albums have changed over time — intros, length, and artistry • The evolution of rap and the industry • AR’s personal Mount Krutchmore of rappers (including Beanie Sigel — but who else made the list?) • His picks for the best Philly rappers of all time • Top female rappers, past and present • His Top 5 cocaine rappers of all time • Current female artists dominating the game • The importance of unity, growth, and changing the narrative This is more than an interview, this is a real conversation about legacy, accountability, Hip Hop history, prison reform, and influence. Watch now and hear directly from AR-AB. #hiphoppodcast #phillyrap #hiphopculture #kartalkwithkrutch #frankiekrutches #beaniesigel #jayz #prisonreform Support the show @kartalkwithkrutch on all Platforms!

  2. KARTALK WITH KRUTCH EP 7 | NU JERZEY DEVIL | KELLY G

    JAN 9

KARTALK WITH KRUTCH EP 7 | NU JERZEY DEVIL | KELLY G

Send us a text Episode 7 of Kartalk with Krutch pulls up heavy with Nu Jerzey Devil and Kelly G (The Drill Fairy) for a real, unfiltered conversation rooted in hip-hop, hustle, and New York culture. The episode kicks off with Nu Jerzey Devil— artist, producer, actor, and the King of Newark — hopping in the car. Born in the Bronx, raised between the Bronx, New Jersey, and Las Vegas, Jerez breaks down his early life, survival stories, and how a near-death experience in Vegas sent him back east and changed his trajectory. He talks about being sent back to the Bronx, proving academics weren’t the issue by making honor roll at Fordham High School, while still hustling — flipping bud from the city to Jersey for dimes during the chocolate tie era. His brother and cousins eventually pushed him to take music seriously, leading to him trading machinery to get his first turntable. Inspired by DJ Kool Herc and Havoc, Nu Jerzey Devil started throwing house parties, creating his own flyers, and building his sound. That grind led to getting signed by Rodney Jerkins at just 20 years old, working on the Honey movie soundtrack with Amerie, and becoming The Game’s DJ. One of the wildest stories comes from touring Africa (Angola) with The Game — where they were pressured to perform another show, surrounded by armed men, and had their manager temporarily taken hostage. Jerez shares how the manager escaped through a bathroom window and made a straight run for the airport — a trip they never repeated. He also reflects on: •His early rap identity as Anthology •A key track with Fats from Harlem that got his sound noticed •A feature with Lil Wayne while both were living in Miami •A backstage Big Tymers concert story involving Wayne, Nivea, and a whole lot of confusion Jerz and Frankie also tap into: •48 Blocks, his Canna brand and lifestyle movement rooted in Atlantic City •Livelihood Films, including the upcoming film Bonnie & Clyde •His acting debut in King of Newark Part 3 (streaming on Tubi) After the interview, Frankie reflects on his own history with Nu Jerzey Devil, including: •Tracks like “I Ride with C4” •“Homies With an Attitude” •Their Backpack Boys collaboration •How New Jersey Devil inspired him to build his own studio Then Frankie slides on Kelly G, aka The Drill Fairy. Kelly G breaks down her journey from Canarsie Bayview to Flossie Babies and The Drill Kids, how she earned the name The Drill Fairy, and her transition from producer platforms like Turn Up Your Producers to stepping fully into her identity as Kelly G. She talks about: •Her viral skits (New York Girl, Old School Dudes, Drinking Henny) •Weird energy in her DMs (from men and women) •Judgments placed on New York women •Why she proudly calls herself the voice for the voiceless Kelly G also announces her upcoming work with DJ Self on iHeartRadio, and closes out the episode laughing with Frankie about constantly being told she looks like Faith Evans — which she proudly agrees with. This episode is raw, funny, informative, and rooted in real hip-hop history. Support the show @kartalkwithkrutch on all Platforms!
