[27] And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” (ESV) SUMMARY We reflect on Jesus’ warning in Matthew 7:26–27 and why hearing his words without doing them leaves our lives built on sand. [25] And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. (ESV) SUMMARY We slow down at the end of the day with Jesus’ picture of a house built on rock and ask what actually holds us up when life gets rough.
