    The Y Combinator India Scandal: Why Everyone is Talking About Ankit Gupta

    Y Combinator partner Ankit Gupta called it DEI to hire Americans. He quote-tweeted JD Vance, sneered flyover country at Ohio, then locked his X and killed his LinkedIn. Vance said if an American corporation needs workers, it should hire and train Americans. Gupta treated that like a welfare program. Palmer Luckey jumped in. FTC chair Andrew Ferguson called YC a front. Garry Tan posted that YC supports hiring Americans, then had to explain what he meant by American. I ran engineering at Amex. H-1B "long hours" is a 30-day clock and a plane ticket. Meanwhile YC funds Gale, Swadesh, and LegalOS, the shops that write the petitions. A $103,265 H-1B fee is on the table. Gupta is still there.     Theo Browne Is a Mid Influencer With a Cult's Authority

    Theo Browne sells confidence. When the audio dies, you get the rest of it: a guy yelling at a machine because it will not obey him in that moment. Online he is the oracle who can see through every model and every software company. The crashout that opens this is the tell. Control that only works on a working mic is a performance. He spent time at Twitch, founded a Y Combinator company, and built a real audience. That resume is why people listen. It is not why they should obey him. A casual post from Theo becomes an industry event. Criticism of T3 Code becomes a trial of your character. Ask why, and the comments try to eat you. The Codex mess is the curtain. OpenAI's Angel Brodin said they would not cut a user off mid-task. Theo quoted her and bragged about burning at least $800 in tokens after he hit 0%. A collaborator shipped Endless, a harness that stretched that courtesy into an infinite session. His audience cloned it. OpenAI killed the feature. Then he flipped. He deleted the posts, went after the people using the exploit he advertised, and asked the Codex team to ban them. Follow the money and 10XN reads clearer. It is a marketplace where a company buys a trusted builder's voice, and Theo takes a cut. His product is certainty. The cult that buys it is the business model.
