Living in Kinship with the Earth

Cara and I wandered from our quiet days in the countryside into the question that drives both of our lives and businesses: what would it mean to live as kin with the Earth? To relate to every being, human and otherwise, as family. We talk about slowing down for a squirrel, asking before you take, and letting a flower choose you. About dissatisfaction as a doorway rather than a flaw, and about why balance is less a place you reach than a way you move. Grief and joy make an appearance too, sitting at the same table, joining each other for a conversation. Cara shares how a career in environmental science led her to the land in a different way, and what happens when people gather in the dirt with nothing to perform. It’s a gentle listen. Put the kettle on, step outside if you can, and let it keep you company. Connect with Cara Cara Helene is a regenerative leadership advisor and medicine woman who guides soul-driven leaders through the Rites of Passage their work is asking of them. The Mythology Only You Can Live

This conversation begins at the root of our human-ness: the ecosystem we call home. Ganga lives at the meeting point of different worlds, a threshold space that becomes an invitation to deepen our relationship with place, and through that, with everything else. Ganga shares that her dream for the future of the Earth has shifted. She’s moved away from holding a specific vision and toward something more spacious: tuning into the natural flow and understanding her own role from inside that movement. Together we weave through the 10th Gene Key, its river imagery, and invitation to let identity dissolve into something more essential — and into a story Ganga carries from a conversation with Ram Dass. We explore the fine line between self-obsession and genuine self-discovery — how curiosity about who we are, when it stays light and open, leads to the full realisation of our unique potential. For anyone feeling overwhelmed by the scale of what the Earth is facing, Ganga has warm words and heartfelt advice to offer, that I myself needed to hear and long to remind myself of each and every day. Remembering that potential doesn’t realise itself in the abstract, but in contact with place, community, and the living world around us, every moment of our lives. The Art of Regenerative Living – with EMUNAH Ganga’s creativity cultivator, The Art of Regenerative Living, starts tomorrow on September 22nd. The three-months container invites you to get together with peers who share a desire to embody and enact the regenerative paradigm shift. It’s a call to co-create for those who sense the essential role that art must play for this shift to be rooted in culture, and to grow with integrity. Connect with Ganga Rev. Ganga Devi Braun is a regenerative practitioner, educator, and community weaver. Committed to helping us find our unique place within the ecosystem of the future, her work focuses on nurturing the personal power and collective wisdom we need to bring about the full-culture paradigm shift many of us are co-creating. Her focus is on bridging the inner-work and culture-work dimensions of this paradigm shift. Contentment Without Certainty

In this conversation Mark and I talk about the very question he has spent years researching: what actually makes a life good. And, as part of exploring where the question leads: who decided the answer should involve a bigger bank balance? Right. No one. Mark’s dream for the future of the Earth sounds “small” at first, and stays small on purpose, but is actually deeply grounded, and wildly important: more open, honest relationships, less consumption, more trees in the ground and roots in the here and now. He’s spent years collecting other people’s answers to the question of What is a Good Life?, talking with over 300 people for a project that’s since turned into books, a weekly podcast and an exhibition. What he has found, again and again, is that the good life rarely looks like the one we’re told to chase. We talk about what it means to live with real financial precarity and still feel, most days, content. Mark shares how he’s learned to quiet his inner critic, not by silencing it, but by closing the gap between who he is on the inside and who he shows up as on the outside. In this context, we explore the 18th Gene Key, the Gift of Integrity: the capacity to look honestly at our own and the world’s flaws and mistakes without collapsing into judgment and to find beauty in the imperfection itself. Is the 18th Gene Key part of your profile, too? Find out here! Connect with Mark Mark McCartney has spent over five years asking one question: What is a good life? The responses - over 300 of them - reveal what it actually means to be human and truly matters to us. That ongoing conversation has become a podcast, a newsletter, workshops, an exhibition, and an upcoming book. He believes we're starved of encounters that actually mean something, and it's time for a different kind of conversation. Why Creativity Is Not a Luxury

In this conversation we explore what becomes possible when we let music do what words alone cannot: bring us back into presence, into connection and community. Gary shares his dream for the future of the Earth: a world where creative practice is recognised as essential to human wellbeing — not a luxury, but a daily practice as fundamental as movement or rest. As a composer, songwriter and founder of an online songwriting community, Gary has spent years helping people move through creative blocks and resistance, and he’s watched, again and again, how music synchronises us — our heart rates, our breath, our nervous systems — in a way that nothing else quite does. We weave through the 6th Gene Key: the shift from Conflict to Diplomacy, and on to Peace. Gary embodies the archetype of the peacemaker: a songwriter who listens for what a room, a choir, a collective field needs, and finds the note that lets people meet there together. We also touch on inclusive art: work that leaves room for many different feelings rather than prescribing one, and about how small, accessible acts like joining a community choir, singing to the people and animals we love are themselves real and meaningful musical connections that pave the path towards a more harmonious future. Listen all the way to the end, and a special invitation is waiting for you as a Soulful Futures listener! Where Creativity Begins: A Conversation on Safety and Self-Care

In this conversation I am joined by Jenna from Jennas Ayurvediska, and we explore what it means to build a safe foundation — for the body, for creativity, for a business, and for life itself. Jenna shares her dream for the future of the Earth: a world where people feel safe enough in their own bodies and lives to fully express their creative potential. We trace her path into Ayurveda, which began unexpectedly during the years she spent adopting her two children from India and Thailand. What started as a personal search for grounding became a calling: She trained as a certified Ayurveda therapist and, in 2020, founded her own company in Sweden to share this wisdom with others. We talk about Ayurveda not as an abstract philosophy but as a daily practice — from morning rituals to aromatherapy and small acts of self-care — that build a true sense of safety in the body. We talk about entrepreneurship and about following your genuine curiosity and your “why” rather than chasing outcomes, about not taking rejection personally, and about staying connected to enthusiasm even when the path is hard. Connect with Jenna Jenna is a mother, entrepreneur, and bodyworker who works closely with people through massage and holistic treatments. She is an adoptive parent with a deep interest in Ayurveda, alternative medicine, and a more holistic approach to health. Inspired by traditions from India and Thailand, she weaves together body, mind, and a touch of mysticism in both her work and her way of life. From Ambition to Anointing

In this episode, I sit down with Violetta Pleshakova, writer, speaker, teacher, and PhD in cultural studies, for a conversation that had my soul sing. Violetta has spent 15 years in the personal development and coaching world, and she comes with a perspective that is refreshingly unafraid to challenge the industry she grew up in. We talked about what it really means to grow as a human being, and why so much of what gets sold as “personal development” might actually be pulling us away from ourselves and the exact thing we’re trying to chase. We dive into the difference between ambition and anointing, and the shift from chasing external success to living from a deeper sense of identity and calling. Violetta shares how her own life changed after a period of significant loss in her 30s, and how she moved from performance mode into what she calls presence mode. Her vision for herself now? To be a good and godly woman. Simple words that carry enormous weight. We also explore the world of neurodivergence and why neurodivergent people so often struggle within traditional personal development frameworks. Violetta sees neurodivergent individuals as barometers of what isn’t working in society, and as early signals of a more organic, authentic way of living. Something that resonated deeply with me in our conversation was the question of language – how calling our work a vocation rather than a business changes something in the body, in the energy, in how we show up. Violetta is someone who takes language seriously as a force that shapes reality, and I felt that throughout our whole exchange. This is a conversation for anyone who has ever felt like the personal development world wasn’t quite built for them – or who is ready to ask bigger questions about what a meaningful life actually looks like. Connect with Violetta Violetta Pleshakova is a leadership and business coach and founder of UNDENIABLE - a strategic advisory for founders and solopreneurs who are building purpose-driven brands. With a PhD in cross-cultural complex project management, 15 years of coaching practice, and over 10,000 hours of facilitation across four continents, Violetta brings a rare combination of analytical rigor, psychological insight, and lived entrepreneurial experience. Her signature methodology uses her gift of diagnostic intelligence to help her clients identify their true and timeless expertise and turn that into undeniably powerful market positioning and paradigm-shifting leadership. Leaving the Treadmill

In this conversation I am meeting the wonderful Ania ❤️‍🔥, exploring what happens when we stop performing life and start actually living it. Ania shares her dream for the future of the Earth: a world where people reclaim their power to create fulfilling lives from the ground up. Lives that are grown from within, from a place of truth and honesty. We trace her journey from high-achieving workaholic to co-creator of an off-grid community, and ask: what becomes possible when we finally let ourselves receive life? We weave in her Gene Keys, particularly the 16th — the spectrum that moves from Indifference to Versatility. Ania’s story is a living embodiment of this arc. She tells her story about hitting a wall in her thirties, realising that the security she had built was a treadmill she couldn’t get off, and choosing, step by step, to step into the unknown — eventually landing in Mexico with a family that welcomed her into their realm, and receiving land she had never asked for. We talk about the quiet revolution of shifting from transactional living to a mindset of sharing and overflow. At the heart of it: when we learn to receive — love, land, rest, belonging — and dare to leave our comfort zone to find a way of being human that is full of life and truthful to our nature, we stop extracting. From ourselves, and the Earth. And that, Ania and I both believe, is where planetary healing actually begins. If you want to discover your own Gene Keys profile for free, you can do so here. When We Truly Love Ourselves

In this conversation, we explore one of the most foundational questions for our time: what happens when we truly love ourselves? Cathy shares her dream for the future of the earth: a world where every person has deep self-love, knows themselves intimately, and takes responsibility for their inner world. We discuss how this inner work naturally ripples outward, transforming how we care for each other, for nature, and for the planet itself. When we're disconnected from ourselves, we're disconnected from everything. But when we remember who we really are, love flows naturally. We weave through the Gene Keys, particularly Cathy's Life's Work, the 43rd key of Deafness, Insight, and Epiphany. We talk about what it means to be deaf to the status quo and attuned instead to our own inner voice, embodying the archetype of the Creative Rebel. Cathy reflects on her journey of shedding conditioning: the perfectionism, the "good girl" programming, the layers that buried her authentic voice, and how she's learning to trust what she already knows. We explore the paradox that the collective dream and the individual dream are actually the same: that living authentically from love is the deepest service we can offer. We discuss how businesses built from soul and self-love cannot harm the earth, how retreats and containers create anchor points for transformation, and how the revolution we're part of is quiet, inward, and profoundly powerful. Cathy shares a recent experience at a retreat center in the mountains, where she witnessed people doing deep inner work and opening their hearts—a living example of the ripple effect of self-love moving out into the world. We also touch on embodiment, joy, synchronicity, and remembering that self-love is a revolutionary act in a world designed to keep us disconnected. At the heart of it all: awareness, intention, and the practice of catching our inner critic and choosing love instead. Connect with Cathy Cathy Fenwick is a marketing and business strategist and the founder of Jewel in the Lotus Consulting. She works with holistic, women-led businesses to translate vision into grounded strategy, blending deep business experience, intuition, and Human Design with clear execution.
