Standing in the Gap: The War Room is a faith-based podcast hosted by Brandon Roberts and Mike Bowler, founders of Guardians of the Covenant, a community dedicated to encouraging, equipping, and supporting believers who are navigating marriage challenges, separation, reconciliation, restoration, and spiritual warfare. Every week, Brandon and Mike step into the War Room to have honest conversations rooted in Scripture, biblical truth, and real-life experience. Together, they explore what it means to stand faithfully when circumstances are difficult, trust God when answers seem delayed, and remain committed to covenant in a culture that often encourages people to walk away. This podcast is for husbands, wives, standers, prodigals, pastors, prayer warriors, and anyone seeking biblical encouragement for their marriage, family, and walk with Christ. Whether you are fighting for restoration, rebuilding trust, strengthening an existing marriage, or simply seeking to better understand God's design for covenant, you will find practical wisdom, biblical teaching, authentic testimony, and powerful conversations designed to strengthen your faith. At Standing in the Gap: The War Room, we believe: • God created marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one woman. • Marriage is designed to reflect Christ's love for His Church. • Prayer is not a last resort; it is a primary weapon in spiritual warfare. • God is still a God of healing, restoration, reconciliation, and redemption. • Faithfulness and obedience matter, even when circumstances have not yet changed. • The Bible remains our final authority for faith, marriage, relationships, and daily living. • No one should have to walk through marital struggles alone. We do not offer quick fixes, empty promises, or easy answers. Instead, we open God's Word, wrestle with difficult questions, share our own journeys, and encourage listeners to pursue Christ above all else while trusting Him with the outcome. If you are standing in the gap for your marriage, your family, or someone you love, you are not alone. Join Brandon and Mike every week as they enter the War Room, where prayer becomes strategy, obedience becomes a weapon, and faith stands firm on the promises of God. Stay in the Word. Stay prayed up. E29 | ABRAHAM & SARAH: COVENANT PROMISE IN THE WAITING

Covenant Stories Series: Episode 29 | Abraham & Sarah: Covenant Promise in the Waiting In this episode of Standing in the Gap: The War Room, Brandon and Mike continue the Covenant Stories series by exploring the story of Abraham and Sarah—a journey marked by promise, waiting, weakness, faith, and the unwavering faithfulness of God. God called Abraham to leave what was familiar and follow Him into the unknown. Along the way, He established a covenant and promised Abraham and Sarah a son, a family, and a legacy that would bless the nations. But between the promise and its fulfillment came years of silence, uncertainty, disappointment, and waiting. When the promise seemed impossible, Abraham and Sarah struggled to trust God’s timing. Their decision to involve Hagar reveals what can happen when fear, impatience, and human reasoning attempt to accomplish what only God can fulfill. Their shortcut brought pain and division, yet even in the consequences, God did not abandon His covenant—and He did not overlook Hagar. God saw her, heard her, and met her in the wilderness. This episode reminds us that waiting is not wasted time. God uses the space between promise and fulfillment to build faith, expose what is in our hearts, and teach us to depend on Him rather than our own understanding. Abraham and Sarah were imperfect people, but God remained faithful to what He had spoken. When Isaac was finally born, his life became evidence that nothing is too difficult for the Lord. What appeared delayed was never forgotten. What seemed impossible was still within God’s power. For those standing for marriage, family, healing, restoration, or a promise that has not yet come to pass, this episode is an encouragement not to confuse delay with denial. God’s timing may challenge us, but His faithfulness does not change. We are called to trust Him, resist the temptation to manufacture an outcome, and remain obedient while we wait. Key Scriptures include: Genesis 12, Genesis 15–18, Genesis 21–22, Romans 4:18–21, Hebrews 11:8–12, Galatians 4:22–31, and Proverbs 3:5–6. This is not simply a story about a promised child. It is a story about covenant, the dangers of taking matters into our own hands, the God who sees those who feel forgotten, and the faithfulness of the One who always keeps His Word. E28 | DAVID & BATHSHEBA: WHEN SIN ENTERS COVENANT

Covenant Stories Series: Episode 28 | David & Bathsheba When Sin Enters Covenant In this episode of Standing in the Gap: The War Room, Brandon and Mike continue the Covenant Stories series by walking through one of the most sobering and difficult moments in Scripture: the story of David and Bathsheba. David was a man after God’s own heart, yet he was still capable of grievous sin when desire, power, passivity, and unchecked temptation entered the room. What began with a look became a choice. What became a choice turned into concealment. What was hidden eventually brought damage, grief, consequence, and exposure. This episode looks honestly at what happens when sin enters covenant and how hidden compromise can bring destruction not only to the sinner, but also to the people connected to them. But the story does not end with failure. Through Nathan’s confrontation, David is brought face-to-face with the truth. His sin is exposed, not to destroy him, but to lead him toward repentance. This story reminds us that grace does not ignore sin, mercy does not remove accountability, and repentance does not always erase earthly consequences. Yet even in the wreckage, God is still able to confront, correct, forgive, restore, and redeem. For those standing for marriage, family, healing, or restoration, this episode is a reminder that covenant must be guarded, sin must be brought into the light, and true repentance begins when we stop hiding and return fully to God. Key Scriptures include: 2 Samuel 11, 2 Samuel 12, Psalm 51, James 1:13–15, Proverbs 28:13, Galatians 6:7–9, and 1 John 1:9. This is not just a story about David’s failure. It is a warning about the cost of unguarded desire, the danger of hidden sin, and the mercy of a God who loves us enough to bring truth into the light. E27 | HOSEA & GOMER: LOVE THAT PURSUES, COVENANT THAT ENDURES

E27 | Hosea & Gomer: Love That Pursues, Covenant That Endures In this episode of Standing in the Gap: The War Room, Brandon and Mike continue the Covenant Stories series by walking through one of the most powerful and difficult pictures of covenant love in Scripture: the story of Hosea and Gomer. Hosea was called by God to love a woman who would wander, betray, and break covenant. Yet through this painful marriage, God revealed His own heart toward His people. This story is not simply about Hosea’s obedience or Gomer’s brokenness. It is about the relentless love of God, the mercy that calls wanderers home, and the covenant that endures even when faithfulness has been shattered. For those standing for marriage restoration, Hosea and Gomer can be both challenging and deeply encouraging. It reminds us that covenant love is not passive, weak, or blind. It is obedient, surrendered, prayerful, and rooted in God’s character. Hosea’s pursuit points us to a love that does not excuse sin, but still reflects the heart of a God who redeems, restores, and calls His people back into relationship. This episode speaks to the one who feels abandoned, the one who is waiting, the one who is grieving betrayal, and the one who is learning how to love with truth and grace. No wilderness is beyond God’s presence. No valley is beyond His redemption. No repentant heart is beyond His mercy. Join us in the War Room as we look at Hosea and Gomer, and discover what their story teaches us about love that pursues, covenant that endures, and the God who still restores what is broken. E26 | JACOB, LEAH & RACHEL

Episode 26 | Jacob, Leah & Rachel: When Love Gets Complicated In this episode of Standing in the Gap: The War Room, Brandon and Mike begin a brand new series called Covenant Stories, where we walk through biblical relationships and discover what they reveal about God’s faithfulness, covenant, brokenness, and redemption. Episode 26 takes us into the emotionally complex story of Jacob, Leah, and Rachel. This account is filled with deception, unmet expectations, favoritism, rejection, jealousy, comparison, and deep longing. Jacob believed his future was secure after serving seven years for Rachel, only to wake up to a reality he never expected. Leah longed to be seen, loved, and chosen by a husband whose heart was fixed on someone else. Rachel had Jacob’s affection, yet still wrestled with insecurity, envy, and the pain of barrenness. But this story is not merely about a complicated family or a painful love triangle. It is about a faithful God who continues to work in the middle of human weakness. Through Leah’s rejection, Rachel’s struggle, and Jacob’s disappointment, we see that God is not intimidated by broken circumstances. He sees the overlooked. He remembers the waiting. He redeems what feels impossible. And He continues to accomplish His covenant purposes even when people fail, families fracture, and life does not unfold the way we hoped. This episode speaks directly to anyone carrying the pain of rejection, disappointment, comparison, or unmet expectations. Whether you are standing for your marriage, walking through a difficult family season, or simply trying to understand God’s purpose in the middle of complicated circumstances, this conversation is a reminder that your identity cannot be built on another person’s approval. It must be anchored in Christ, whose love never changes. If you feel unseen, God sees you. If you feel forgotten, God remembers you. If your story feels messy, God is still working. E24 | A GODLY WIFE

E24 | A GODLY WIFEWhat does Scripture really say about the role of a wife? In Episode 24 of Standing in the Gap: The War Room, Brandon and Mike continue the Blueprints of Covenant series by exploring God's design for biblical womanhood and the vital role a godly wife plays within marriage, family, and future generations. Together, they examine the lives of women such as Ruth, Esther, Hannah, Elizabeth, Jochebed, and the Proverbs 31 woman, discovering that biblical womanhood is not rooted in weakness, passivity, or cultural stereotypes, but in strength, wisdom, faithfulness, courage, and deep trust in God. Throughout the conversation, Brandon and Mike discuss what it means to cultivate a gentle and quiet spirit, guard the heart against cultural pressures, walk in spiritual maturity during difficult seasons, and become the kind of woman whose influence strengthens her home and leaves a lasting legacy. Whether you are a wife, a husband seeking to better understand God's design, or someone pursuing Christ-centered relationships, this episode offers biblical encouragement, practical wisdom, and a renewed appreciation for the powerful role godly women play in God's Kingdom. Key Scriptures: Proverbs 31:25–31, 1 Peter 3:1–4, Titus 2:3–5, Ruth 1:16–17, Esther 4:14, Genesis 2:18, and Ephesians 5. E23 | A GODLY HUSBAND

Episode 23 of Standing in the Gap: The War Room began a brand-new series titled Blueprints of Covenant with Part One: A Godly Husband. In this heartfelt and deeply practical conversation, Brandon and Mike explored what biblical leadership inside marriage truly looks like and how culture’s definition of masculinity often stands in direct contrast to the example Christ modeled through humility, servanthood, sacrifice, and love. Hilary was out this week recovering from a weekend illness, and while she was missed during the discussion, her heart for restoration and encouragement continues to be an important part of this series. Throughout the episode, Brandon and Mike discussed how many men desire healthy marriages and want to love their families well, yet were never truly taught what godly husbandry looks like through a biblical lens. The conversation unpacked how marriage has a way of exposing pride, selfishness, emotional immaturity, impatience, and communication struggles, not to shame us, but because God often uses covenant relationships to refine and transform our hearts. Drawing heavily from Ephesians 5 and the example of Christ Himself, the episode emphasized that biblical leadership is not rooted in control or domination, but in sacrificial love and surrender to God. The discussion also focused on emotional presence, humility, repentance, spiritual leadership inside the home, and the importance of allowing God to shape a man’s character privately as well as publicly. Brandon and Mike reminded listeners that becoming a godly husband is not about achieving perfection overnight, but about staying teachable, prayerful, and willing to continually grow closer to Christ. As the first installment of Blueprints of Covenant, this episode laid the foundation for the weeks ahead as the series continues exploring the biblical role of a godly wife and God’s design for covenant marriage as a whole.
