If you’re ready to take just one little step, I will come alongside shining a light for you to keep moving forward   Hi, I’m Terry.  Wife, mother, grandmother, artist, scientist and Bible teacher.  I was wounded!  A wound that was too big, too much!  God knew, and pulled me really close.  He told me “the truth would set me free”.  He was gracious and patient as he walked with me to healing.   I tried to carry all of my hurt alone for over a decade!  I was overwhelmed, struggling, and exhausted.   I finally realized I had to get help.  I had to talk about what was going on in my life.  I had to trust others to speak into my pain, to help me release the burden I was carrying.  I had to take one step at a time to the life God intended for me.   I focused on what I needed.  I found safe people who could help me heal.  My relationships healed and I learned about me, the woman God created.   If you’re ready to stop doing life alone, to let God direct your journey, and to release that burden you’ve been carrying….this podcast is for you!     34 | Growing Through what you're Going Through

    Trials are never easy, but they are often one of God's greatest tools for growing our faith. In this episode, Terry continues to unpack James chapter 1 and discuss how an understanding mind helps us navigate life's challenges. She explores the purpose of testing, the difference between God's testing and Satan's temptations, and why patience is one of the key signs of spiritual maturity.     33 | Counting the Cost of Trials

    Trials are an unavoidable part of life. Whether it's grief, illness, disappointment, unexpected loss, or circumstances beyond our control, hardship often arrives when we least expect it. In this episode, Terry explores what Scripture teaches about trials and how we can respond with wisdom instead of fear. Drawing from 1 Peter, James, and Job, Terry discusses how to "count" our trials, evaluate what God may be teaching us, and determine which burdens belong to us, which belong to others, and which need to be surrendered back to God.     31 | HALT and Consider the Image of God

    Today's episode focuses on the Image of God and how that impacts our identity.   Scripture References: Psalm 86:15--Compassion But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Luke 8:24--Calm The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. Acts 1:7--Curiosity He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. Psalm 71:5--Confidence For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth. Joshua 1:9--Courage Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.     30 | Peeling away the Layers of My Identity

    Have you ever wondered who you really are beneath all the labels, expectations, and roles you’ve carried? In today’s episode, I share an unexpected lesson God showed me while power washing and scraping paint off an old storage shed. As layers of old paint peeled away, revealing the original wood underneath, I couldn’t help but think about identity—and how often our true selves get covered over by stories we’ve believed, words spoken over us, wounds we’ve carried, and expectations we’ve tried to meet. Sometimes healing begins in the cracks. Sometimes the places that feel broken are the very places where God begins revealing what He created from the beginning.     27 | Hearing and Obeying God's Voice

    In today's episode Terry unpacks two stories of absolute obedience from Acts 9 and 10.   We see Ananias who literally made a decision to go visit Saul knowing that he might lose his life.  Sacrifice is sometimes asked of us as we obey!  And, God's direction may frighten us.  It's okay to ask for clarification, but once you have it, act!  Do what God has asked you to do.   Direction from God often comes unexpectedly.  It may cause us to change direction.  Saul was asked to change his plans and also his life purpose.  Peter changed his thoughts and turned away from what he had been taught....all because God instructed him.   When God speaks it can be an answer to prayer, as we see with Cornelius the centurion.  So, keep praying!  Cornelius saw unbelievable outcomes as a result of his prayers.   What is God saying to you today?  Are you listening?  That's the first part.  Once you hear the next step is to obey.  Take action and watch what God does with your obedience!
