Mississippi Heat stands as one of the longest running bands in Chicago Live with DJ Jazzy Kat On Katztracks.net Radio Show!

Katztracks.net Live Shows Mon-Thursday 7pm Eastern Standard Time Sunday's 8 Am Eastern Standard time. Let your Friends know all about the show and Guest on air with one click. Mississippi Heat stands as one of the longest running bands in Chicago, as well as a launching pad for many blues players who’ve gone on to successful solo careers. MH’s alumni reads like a Who’s Who of Chicago Blues past and present: Billy Flynn, Lurrie Bell, Carl Weathersby, Kenny “Beedy Eyes” Smith, Deitra Farr, Bob Stroger, Calvin “Fuzz” Jones, James Wheeler, Barrelhouse Chuck, Jon McDonald, Robert Covington, Bob Carter and more. Mississippi Heat’s personnel may have changed over the decades, but the heart and soul of the music remains with Pierre Lacocque, who directs the band with his highly creative, virtuosic harmonica skills, stellar songwriting and artistic vision. MH embodies the traditional Chicago blues ensemble style, but Lacocque sometimes adds in some zydeco, world beats, Latin and jazz for spice; it’s not surprising since the Israeli-born native (of Christian parents from Belgium) has lived in and traveled to many different countries. After playing harmonica in various blues bands in both Chicago and Canada (where he attended college) Lacocque formed his own  band in 1991 (along with Jon McDonald, Bob Stroger and Robert Covington). Since then, Mississippi Heat has become an internationally acclaimed, beloved band that always features Chicago’s top talent playing original music. MH has performed all over the world, including the U.S., Canada, Europe, Mexico, South America and Northern Africa. Russell and Hop With Dj Jazzy Kat Fun Talks about there Music

Katztracks.net Live Shows Mon-Thursday 7pm Eastern Standard Time Sunday's 8 Am Eastern Standard time. Let your Friends know all about the show and Guest on air with one click. Curtis Hopper was introduced to performing by way of local universities. His popularity with the collage crowds helped him discover his love of being in front of an audience. Influenced by the sounds of such bands as the Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker, and the Eagles, Curtis fine-tuned his own sound to create an authentic country rock play-list.  As a finalist on "You can be a Star", in the 1980's, hosted by Jim Ed Brown and Gerry House, Curtis performed for judges Jim Fogelsong, Buddy Killen and Mickey Gilley. Following his success on that show he was joined the Cinder Road Band. While touring Curtis continued to hone his skills as a true crowd pleaser using his rich full vocals and playful stage presence.  Included in the long list of concert venues in which he has performed, Curtis is proud to have graced the iconic Grand 'ol Opry stage. Having spent the last several years raising his family in Middle Tennessee, Curtis now finds himself single and ready to get back to what he is all about....his music. Randy Russell started playing guitar when he was only eight years old. By the time he was19 he was on the road with Jeff Allen, who was signed with United Artist. They fronted entertainers such as Tanya Tucker, Ray Stevens and Jim Nabors at state fairs around the country. Returning to Nashville, he played with Clifford Curry on the college circuit throughout the South. After his stint on the road, he came back to town and played local hot spots with "Wholly Smoke". Randy has also jammed with such artists as Gregg Allman, Dicky Betts and Freddie King. Having cut his teeth on Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn, Randy's searing style and intense stage presents is riveting. Before playing with Russell & Hop he played around town as a founding member of 3rd Degree, a power trio that produced three cd's. All three cd's sold successfully in the local market. Randy has worked for Gibson Guitar for several years. Russell & Hop knew from the start that they had something special. Writing together was comfortable and easy. The pieces started falling into place for this duo. Audiences made it clear that they wanted more of Russell and Hop. Support the show

Randy Cobb Country singer Talks with DJ Jazzy Kat About his singing -song- writing

Katztracks.net Live Shows Mon-Thursday 7pm Eastern Standard Time Sunday's 8 Am Eastern Standard time. Let your Friends know all about the show and Guest on air with one click. Randy Cobb was born in Pensacola, Florida, and began writing at a young age as a way to cope with childhood adversity. As a young adult, he made his home in lower Alabama, where his Southern roots run deep. An avid outdoorsman, Randy draws inspiration from the land, the people, and the real-life stories that shape his music. He began honing his craft as a singer-songwriter early on, developing a raw and heartfelt style that connects deeply with listeners. Over the years, Randy has shared the stage with major acts at clubs, fairs, and festivals across the Southeast. His talent and determination even caught the attention of Nashville labels—though a deal never came to pass, his journey as an independent, emerging artist has only grown stronger in pursuit of his dream. In 2012, Randy shifted focus to family, building his own trucking company and dedicating his time to his daughter and his mother. Still, his love for music never faded. After losing his mother, brother, and livelihood during COVID, Randy reignited his passion with a new sense of purpose and resilience.  In fall 2024, his debut single “Not On Me” hit country radio, debuting on the MusicRow Breakout Chart in early 2025. His follow-up single “Country Boy” is currently spinning at radio, with his next release, “The Sand,” coming this October alongside a new radio campaign. Stay up to date with news, tour dates, and new releases at www.RandyCobbMusic.com and be sure to follow Randy Cobb on all digital platforms and social media outlets! Support the show
