Feasting Upon the Words of Christ for Divine Guidance

2 Nephi 32:3 - "Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." Elder Carlos E. Asay - "Of all the best gifts, perhaps none is to be sought more earnestly than the ability to speak with the tongue of angels. Success in many callings depends in large measure upon the convincing power of voice and word. Without the tongue of angels, the servants of God are just ordinary men and women; but, armed with the Spirit and the words of Christ, they become 'like unto angels' and teach persuasively and powerfully" President Ezra Taft Benson - "Do you have members who long for direction and guidance in their lives?"  Elder Robert D. Hales - “If we don’t have the word of God or don’t cling to and heed the word of God, we will wander off in strange paths and be lost as individuals, as families, and as nations. As with voices from the dust, the prophets of the Lord cry out to us on earth today: take hold of the scriptures! Cling to them, walk by them, live by them, rejoice in them, feast on them. Don’t nibble. They are ‘the power of God unto salvation’ [D&C 68:4] that lead us back to our Savior Jesus Christ. If the Savior were among us in the flesh today, He would teach us from the scriptures as He taught when He walked upon the earth…His words ring out: ‘Search the scriptures; for…they are they which testify of me’ [John 5:39] —a testimony borne by the Holy Ghost, for ‘by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things’ [Moroni 10:5]…What a glorious blessing! For when we want to speak to God, we pray. And when we want Him to speak to us, we search the scriptures; for His words are spoken through His prophets. He will then teach us as we listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit”  Elder Dale G. Renlund - “The scriptures form the first element of the framework for personal revelation. Feasting on the words of Christ, as found in the scriptures, stimulates personal revelation… It is remarkable how frequently a church leader will direct someone struggling with an issue to read the Book of Mormon. That is because reading the Book of Mormon invites the Holy Ghost. And through the Holy Ghost, personal repentance is motivated, comfort is conveyed, and guidance is provided.” Seek this Jesus - A Book of Mormon Daily Podcast invites you to discover the joy and guidance that comes from studying the Book of Mormon everyday. Press Forward with a Perfect Brightness of Hope

2 Nephi 31:20 - "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life." Sister Ardeth Greene Kapp - “With daily prayer, scripture study, and our feet firmly planted on the road to the celestial kingdom, we have a 'perfect brightness of hope"'  Sister Susan W. Tanner - “I love this scripture. It describes how we should face life’s challenges. When I press forward with hope and love, I also feel hope and love…Remember, when we keep our covenants, we feel hope, and we feel love.”  President Russell M. Nelson - “To feast means more than to taste. To feast means to savor. We savor the scriptures by studying them in a spirit of delightful discovery and faithful obedience. When we feast upon the words of Christ, they are embedded ‘in fleshy tables of the heart’ [2 Corinthians 3:3]. They become an integral part of our nature”  Seek this Jesus - A Book of Mormon Daily Podcast invites you to discover the joy and guidance that comes from studying the Book of Mormon everyday. Walking the Strait and Narrow Path

2 Nephi 31:18 - "And then are ye in this strait and narrow path which leads to eternal life; yea, ye have entered in by the gate; ye have done according to the commandments of the Father and the Son; and ye have received the Holy Ghost, which witnesses of the Father and the Son, unto the fulfilling of the promise which he hath made, that if ye entered in by the way ye should receive." Elder D. Todd Christofferson - "How does His Church accomplish the Lord’s purposes? It is important to recognize that God’s ultimate purpose is our progress. His desire is that we continue 'from grace to grace, until [we receive] a fulness' of all He can give. That requires more than simply being nice or feeling spiritual. It requires faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism of water and of the Spirit, and enduring in faith to the end. One cannot fully achieve this in isolation, so a major reason the Lord has a church is to create a community of Saints that will sustain one another in the 'strait and narrow path which leads to eternal life.'"  Seek this Jesus - A Book of Mormon Daily Podcast invites you to discover the joy and guidance that comes from studying the Book of Mormon everyday. The Gate to Remission of Sins

2 Nephi 31:17 - "Wherefore, do the things which I have told you I have seen that your Lord and your Redeemer should do; for, for this cause have they been shown unto me, that ye might know the gate by which ye should enter. For the gate by which ye should enter is repentance and baptism by water; and then cometh a remission of your sins by fire and by the Holy Ghost." Elder Robert D. Hales - “The Holy Ghost provides personal revelation to help us make major life decisions about such things as education, missions, careers, marriage, children, where we will live with our families, and so on...As the scriptures attest, the Holy Ghost also testifies of the Savior and God the Father. He teaches us ‘the peaceable things of the kingdom’ and causes us to ‘abound in hope.’ He ‘leadeth [us] to do good … [and] to judge righteously.’ He gives ‘to every man [and woman] … a [spiritual] gift … that all may be profited thereby.’ He ‘giveth [us] knowledge’ and ‘bring[s] all things to [our] remembrance.’ Through the Holy Ghost, we ‘may be sanctified’ and receive ‘a remission of [our] sins.’ He is the ‘Comforter,’ the same who was ‘promised unto [the Savior’s] disciples.’”  President Dallin H. Oaks - The Holy Ghost “is formally conferred after repentance and baptism by water, ‘and then [the scriptures explain] cometh a remission of your sins by fire and by the Holy Ghost.’ Persons who have this remission of sins —and then regularly renew their cleansing by daily repentance and living according to the covenants they make through the ordinance of the sacrament —qualify for the promise that the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of the Lord, ‘may always … be with them.”  Elder Bruce R. McConkie - “The Holy Ghost is a Revelator; he is a Sanctifier, he reveals truth, and he cleanses human souls. He is the Spirit of Truth, and his baptism is one of fire; he burns dross and evil out of repentant souls as though by fire. The Gift of the Holy Ghost is the greatest of all the gifts of God, as pertaining to this life; and those who enjoy that gift here, and now, will inherit eternal life hereafter, which is the greatest of all the gifts of God in eternity.”     Seek this Jesus - A Book of Mormon Daily Podcast invites you to discover the joy and guidance that comes from studying the Book of Mormon everyday.
