Tarot & The Tree of Life

(pardon the poor audio for first 1 minute intro) I was invited by Rabbi Eli Kohen to present a workshop on Tarot & The Tree of Life at Chadesh Yameinu Jewish Renewal center. We recorded the workshop to make it available to everyone. Over twenty people participated with some hard hitting questions. The workshop covered the purpose and significance of the Tree of Life in spiritual development and its application in managing all aspects of life. We had a surprising twist as we explored the ten Sephiroth, the 22 branches upon the Tree and their Tarot correspondences. First I provided the TRUE origins of Tarot in the 12th century along with it's primary use as a mystical device for attaining spiritual consciousness, i.e. Enlightenment/Illumination. The emphasis was on the journey from material realm to divine realm, the mystical paths, and the integration of intellect and emotion in spiritual development. The surprise twist occured as a member challenged me and the process with the concepts of, 'argument' and 'abandonement', and our guided meditation went full circle from the Tree's Pillar of Severity to the Pillar of Mercy, the Sephiroth of Strength in Geburah, Splendor in Hod and the paths of Teth and Mem with the card of The Hanged Man. As we wound down, I offered to record a Lightning Flash meditation to Climb the Tree which followed two days later and is now LIVE. So help yourself to both: the full workshop AND the Lightning Flash mediation episode. Takeaways The Tree of Life serves as a roadmap for spiritual development and a tool for managing all aspects of life. Kabbalah and mystical paths are about the journey from the material realm to the divine realm. The tarot and the Tree of Life provide a roadmap of the human condition and the spectrum of human experience.
