Lotus Reflections Meditations

Bridget Allan

Thankyou for joining this adventure of the exploration of You. Congratulations on beginning the journey of self-discovery, self-acceptance and moving towards becoming the calm amongst the chaos. If you tell yourself all of the reasons you can't meditate, I invite you to be open to the possibility that maybe, just maybe, you CAN meditate, that you simply have yet to discover what method of meditation works for you. I look forward to walking this path with you, and I am so grateful you're here!

Story Time...A Journey of Surrender, Trust & Letting Go of Control

This week's episode is a little different. Instead of a meditation, I'm sharing a deeply personal story about one of the biggest transformations of my life. Following the incredible response to the recent Meditation for Surrender, I felt called to share what surrender has actually looked like in my own life—not as a concept, but as a lived experience. In this Story Time episode, I take you on the journey from living in hyper-responsibility and trying to control every outcome, to slowly learning to trust life, embrace uncertainty, and discover that sometimes our greatest opportunities arrive when we finally create space for them. From supporting my daughter through one of the most difficult seasons of our lives, to becoming a meditation teacher and End-of-Life Doula, leaving behind the familiar, travelling as a "gypsy" through house sitting, following unexpected synchronicities, and ultimately finding my way to Gympie in Queensland, 2000 kilometres away —this story is about learning to feel the fear and keep taking the next step. If you're standing at a crossroads, questioning your next move, or wondering whether you can trust yourself enough to begin again, I hope this episode reminds you that surrender isn't about giving up. It's about continuing to take beautiful, aligned action while letting go of the need to control the outcome. In this episode, we explore: • What living in hyper-responsibility taught me about identity, helping and letting go. • The difference between fear that protects us and fear that simply accompanies growth. • Why surrender is an active practice, not passive acceptance. • How synchronicities and unexpected opportunities can emerge when we create space for them. • The power of trusting yourself enough to take just one more step. Journal Reflection Where in your life are you being invited to trust yourself enough to take the next step? Not the next ten. Not the whole staircase. Just the next step. Thank you for joining me for this special Story Time episode. I hope my journey reminds you that even when the path ahead feels uncertain, you don't have to have all the answers. Sometimes life simply asks us to keep moving, one courageous step at a time. With love, Bridget Lotus Reflections

    Meditation for Stillness

We spend so much of our lives surrounded by noise—external distractions, busy schedules and the constant chatter of our own minds. For many of us, silence can feel unfamiliar, even uncomfortable. In this week's meditation, you are invited into something different. As you relax into your body and notice the space between your thoughts, you may begin to experience a deeper sense of stillness—a place where your nervous system can settle, your body can soften, and your true essence can come into awareness. This meditation beautifully follows last week's Meditation for Surrender. When we surrender our need to control, we naturally create the space for stillness to arise. Whether this feels peaceful or challenging, simply returning to the practice is enough. Stillness is not something we achieve—it is something we remember. Take a slow breath, make yourself comfortable, and allow yourself the gift of simply being. Key TakeawaysStillness is not the absence of sound—it's the presence of awareness. We don't need to stop our thoughts; we simply notice them with curiosity and allow them to pass.Space naturally appears when we observe our thoughts without attachment. The body softens and the nervous system settles when we allow ourselves to rest.Stillness reconnects us with our authentic, peaceful nature.
