37 | Why Changing Your Body Won't Change How You Feel About Yourself

What if losing the weight, getting a flatter stomach, or finally reaching your fitness goal doesn’t actually change how you feel about yourself? In this episode of Fat Loss Reinvention, I’m talking about the connection between body image, identity, confidence, self-worth, and women’s fitness, and why physical transformation alone cannot answer deeper questions about who you are and the woman you’re becoming. I know this personally. After having my first son, I lost around 60 pounds and discovered that changing my body didn’t automatically give me the confidence, identity, or sense of self I thought would be waiting for me on the other side. Today, I’m helping you look beyond the surface-level goal and ask a deeper question: What am I hoping changing my body will give me? We’ll talk about why women can become so focused on weight loss and aesthetics, what fitness can and cannot give you, how to renew your mindset around your body, and why your health journey should ultimately support the life you want to live. Because you don’t have to choose between loving how you look and becoming a stronger, healthier, more whole woman. You can want the muscle. You can want the fat loss. You can want to feel incredible in your clothes. But your body was never meant to give you your identity. This episode is an invitation to stop waiting for a future version of your body to give you permission to become the woman you want to be. Renew your mind. Transform your body. Redesign your life. In this episode, I cover: ✨       Body image and self-worth ✨       Why weight loss doesn’t automatically create confidence ✨       Identity beyond your appearance ✨       Developing a healthier mindset around fitness ✨       Building strength for your life, not just aesthetics ✨       How to stop tying your worth to the scale ✨       Becoming the woman you want to be before your body changes ✨       Whole-woman transformation: mind, body, and life Take the FREE quiz HERE Follow on Instagram Follow on TikTok 💌 hello@ashleyperrylambert.com

36 | Fat Loss After 30: Stop Trying to Fix Your Body & Start Building It

What if the problem isn’t that you haven’t figured out how to lose weight… but that you’ve spent years trying to fix your body instead of build it? If you’re a woman over 30 who wants to lose body fat, build visible muscle, improve muscle definition, and create a strong, toned body, this episode of Fat Loss Reinvention is for you. For years, women have been taught to approach fitness by asking: How do I lose weight? How do I get a flatter stomach? How do I burn more calories? How do I make my body smaller? But as you move through your 30s, 40s, and beyond, there’s a bigger question worth asking: How do I build a strong body that supports the life I actually want to live? In this episode, I share the mindset shift that changed the way I think about fat loss, strength training, building muscle, body composition, and fitness after 30. After losing 60 pounds postpartum, I realized that a smaller body wasn’t the whole thing I was looking for. I wanted to build a body that could continue supporting me through motherhood, aging, travel, everyday life, and everything I still want to experience. In this episode, you’ll learn why fat loss doesn’t have to be the entire purpose of your fitness journey, why wanting aesthetic results and wanting a strong, capable body can coexist, and how changing the question from “What do I need to lose?” to “What do I need to build?” can completely change the way you approach your health and fitness. If you’re tired of chasing weight loss, frustrated by a lack of muscle tone or definition, or wondering why all of your workouts aren’t creating the body composition changes you want, this conversation will help you think differently about what you’re actually working toward. Because you don’t have to choose between looking strong and being strong. You can build for both. 🎯 TAKE THE FREE QUIZ Are you working out for 30 minutes or more several days a week, trying to eat healthy, and STILL not seeing the fat loss, muscle definition, or body composition changes you feel like you should be seeing? 35 | Why Fat Loss Alone Won’t Give You a Toned Body: The BUILD Framework (Part 5)

Are you trying to lose more weight because you believe a lower number on the scale will finally give you the toned, defined body you want? Fat loss may be part of the answer. But fat loss alone cannot create muscle definition if there is not enough muscle underneath to reveal. In the final episode of my five-part BUILD Framework series, we are breaking down the letter D: Define What You Have Built and talking about how to use sustainable fat loss strategically to reveal the muscle you have worked so hard to build. In this episode, you’ll learn: ✨ Why losing weight and improving your body composition are not always the same thing 🤍 What women usually mean when they say they want to look “toned” and the two physical components required to create that look ✨ Why fat loss should be a season instead of something you pursue all year long 🤍 How an overly aggressive calorie deficit can work against your goal of preserving muscle ✨ Why strength training during fat loss is important for protecting lean muscle 🤍 How protein, recovery, progressive overload, and a sustainable calorie deficit work together during a fat-loss phase ✨ Why you may not need to reach the goal weight you have been chasing to achieve the body composition you want 🤍 Whether it is possible to build muscle and lose fat at the same time ✨ Why the scale should be only one measurement of your progress Strength training creates the shape. Fat loss reveals it. The goal is not to become as small as possible. The goal is to strategically reduce body fat while preserving the muscle you have worked hard to build so you can create a leaner, stronger, more visibly defined body without spending your life dieting. 34 | Why Your Body Stopped Changing: The BUILD Framework (Part 4)

Are you strength training consistently but feel like your body has stopped changing? You may not need a completely new workout plan, more cardio, or fewer calories. Your workouts may simply need to progress. In Part 4 of the BUILD Framework podcast series, we are breaking down the letter L: Load Progressively and talking about one of the most important principles for women who want to build visible muscle: progressive overload. If you have been lifting the same weights, doing the same number of reps, or jumping from random workout to random workout without seeing more muscle definition, this episode will help you understand what may be missing. You’ll learn: ✨ What progressive overload actually means and why it is essential for continued muscle growth 🤍 Why progressive overload does NOT mean you have to add more weight every single week ✨ How increasing repetitions, improving range of motion, increasing resistance, and improving execution can all create progression 🤍 What research involving both men and women found when comparing increasing weight versus increasing repetitions ✨ Why constantly changing your exercises can make it harder to know whether you are actually getting stronger 🤍 What the American College of Sports Medicine’s latest resistance-training research says about consistency versus complexity ✨ How to use my simple REPS Test to evaluate your strength-training program 🤍 A practical way to increase your weights without sacrificing your form ✨ Why tracking your workouts matters if your goal is visible muscle and body recomposition The goal is not to make every workout harder just so you can say you worked hard. The goal is to become stronger over time. Because your muscles do not need confusion. They need consistent challenge. And if your body has stopped changing, you may not be missing effort. You may be missing progression. Ready to Find Out What’s Blocking Your Progress? This August, I am accepting a limited number of women into my FREE 5-Day Fitness Reinvention: Fix What’s Blocking Visible Muscle and Sustainable Fat Loss. Yes, completely FREE. For five days, you will receive personalized, one-on-one coaching with me to help uncover what may be blocking your progress and understand what your body actually needs next. 33 | Why Recovery Is The Missing Piece For Fat Loss and Visible Muscle: The BUILD Framework (Part 3)

Are you strength training consistently, eating well, and still struggling to see the visible muscle or sustainable fat loss you expected? Before you add another workout or cut more calories, your body may need something completely different: Better recovery. In Part 3 of the BUILD Framework podcast series, we are focusing on the letter I: Invest in Recovery and why sleep, rest days, stress management, nutrition, and recovery between workouts are essential for women who want to build muscle and lose body fat sustainably. Because your workout creates the muscle-building signal, but your body still needs the opportunity to respond to it. In this episode, you’ll learn: ✨ Why muscle growth happens in response to training, not simply because you completed a hard workout 🤍 Why more exercise does not always lead to faster fat loss or more visible muscle ✨ How poor sleep, high stress, soreness, and declining workout performance may signal that your recovery needs attention 🤍 Why rest days are an important part of an effective strength-training program ✨ How nutrition and hydration support muscle repair, workout performance, and recovery 🤍 Why your training plan should account for motherhood, stress, sleep, and the season of life you are actually living ✨ How recovery can support sustainable fat loss by making consistency, hunger management, training, and nutrition easier to maintain Recovery is not what you do when you stop working toward your goals. Recovery is part of the work. You do not need to see how much pressure your body can tolerate before it breaks. You can challenge your body, support it, and build it with wisdom. That is how we create strength that lasts. Ready to Discover What’s Blocking Your Progress? This August, I am accepting a limited number of women into my FREE 5-Day Fitness Reinvention: Fix What’s Blocking Visible Muscle and Sustainable Fat Loss. Yes, it is completely free. For five days, you will receive personalized, one-on-one coaching with me to help uncover what may be blocking your progress and understand what your body actually needs next. 32 | Why Eating Less Isn’t Always the Answer for Fat Loss & Muscle: The BUILD Framework (Part 2)

Are you eating less, tracking your food, prioritizing protein, and still not seeing the sustainable fat loss or visible muscle you expected? The answer may not be another calorie cut. Your body does not need the same nutrition strategy all year long. There are seasons for losing body fat, maintaining your progress, improving performance, and building muscle. Knowing which season you are in can help you stop cycling through restriction and frustration and start giving your body what it actually needs. In Part 2 of the BUILD Framework podcast series, we are focusing on the letter U: Use Nutrition for Your Season. In this episode, you will learn: ✨ Why eating less is not always the answer when your fat-loss progress slows 🤍 The difference between a fat-loss season, maintenance season, and muscle-building season ✨ Why maintenance is an essential skill, not a sign that you have failed 🤍 How protein supports muscle growth and helps preserve lean muscle during fat loss ✨ Why carbohydrates can support strength training, workout performance, and recovery 🤍 How underfueling can affect your energy, cravings, workouts, recovery, and ability to remain consistent ✨ How to determine which nutrition season may be right for your body and goals Your nutrition should not be a punishment for the body you have. It should support the body you are building. You do not need to remain in a calorie deficit forever. You do not need to fear carbohydrates, earn your meals through exercise, or keep cutting food every time your results slow down. The goal is not to eat the least amount possible. The goal is to use nutrition strategically so you can lose body fat sustainably, build visible muscle, improve your body composition, and create results you can actually maintain. Ready to Discover What Is Blocking Your Progress? This August, I am accepting a limited number of women into my 5-Day Fitness Reinvention: Fix What’s Blocking Visible Muscle and Sustainable Fat Loss. 31 | Why Your Workouts Aren't Building Visible Muscle: The BUILD Framework (Part 1)

Are you working out consistently but still not seeing the muscle definition you want? You may be sweating, closing your fitness rings, lifting weights, and showing up several days a week, but that does not always mean your workouts are sending your body a strong enough muscle-building signal. In Part 1 of the BUILD Framework podcast series, I am breaking down the letter B: Build the Muscle Signal. You will learn why exercise and muscle-building strength training are not always the same, what your muscles actually need in order to grow, and how to tell whether your workouts are helping you build a leaner, stronger, more defined body. ✨ Why sweat, soreness, exhaustion, and calories burned do not prove that a workout is building muscle 🤍 How challenging resistance, controlled repetitions, intentional exercise selection, and adequate effort create a muscle-building signal ✨ How to determine whether your weights are truly challenging enough 🤍 Why losing more weight will not automatically give you a toned or defined appearance ✨ How women 30+ can build visible muscle without spending hours in the gym or allowing fitness to take over their lives Strength training creates the shape. Sustainable fat loss reveals it. You do not need more random workouts or more punishment. You need a training plan that gives your body a clear reason to adapt. This August, I am accepting a limited number of women into my 5-Day Fitness Reinvention: Fix What’s Blocking Visible Muscle and Sustainable Fat Loss. Can you love Jesus, care about fat loss, and trust science? For years, I believed those things had to stay separate. I thought women just wanted to lose weight.
