The Body Is Not Where Trauma Lives: Layla Morelock on Your Body as the Akashic Library

Content note: this episode touches on childhood religious trauma, suicidal ideation and sexual assault, discussed candidly by Layla as part of her own story. Please listen with care. In this episode, Kait speaks with Layla Morelock about the theory that your body was never the site of your wounds — it's the library that holds everything you've lived, inherited and survived. Layla is an embodiment educator and the creator of the tri-body self: the 2-D Mind (story, identity, ego), the 3-D Body (physical, real-time, present), and the 4-D original Spirit (the signature underneath both). Her claim cuts against most embodiment work from the start — the body doesn't store your unprocessed emotion, the mind does. The body is only ever the real-time conduit reading it out loud. She didn't arrive at this in theory. Undiagnosed scoliosis, autoimmune illness and endometriosis so severe a hysterectomy was recommended at twenty-nine forced her out of eight years of competitive bodybuilding and into rebuilding her relationship with her own body from nothing. In this episode you'll hear: — The 2-D Mind / 3-D Body / 4-D Spirit framework, and what Layla means by bringing all three into "consensual connection" — Why she rejects the idea that trauma lives in the body, and what she says is actually happening there instead — Her physical collapse in her twenties — the scoliosis, the endometriosis, the hysterectomy recommendation — and how she reversed it — Why shame functions as an addiction, and the specific practice she uses to move disgust, despair and jealousy through the body instead of around it — The heart as the meeting point of mind and spirit, and why she calls it a portal rather than a metaphor — Why she believes the pursuit of equality with men may cost women access to a form of power that was never his to begin with — Why she frames beauty as physical expression, not decoration — and what it costs a woman to keep her own library closed — How years inside occult and esoteric study led her to a radically physical, unmystical reframe of the Akashic Records Connect with Layla Morelock: @layla.morelock. This episode is for the woman who has spent years trying to fix her body and still feels split in two. It's for the one who has treated her own body like evidence of what happened to her, rather than the place where all of it is still waiting to be read. And it's for anyone who has confused shame for humility, and forgotten that her longing was never the problem.

Why Do High Performing Women Feel Numb in Intimacy with Katy Orah

In this episode, Kait is joined by Katy Orah for a candid conversation about why so many capable, high-performing women feel numb when it comes to intimacy, pleasure and connection to self. They unpack the mental load, over-functioning, self-abandonment and constant doing that can leave the body switched off. Together, they explore how women can begin returning to sensation, softness and desire through small, practical shifts that build nervous system safety and a deeper relationship with the body. About Katy OrahKaty Orah is a relationships and intimacy coach, international speaker, retreat host and founder of School of Sensuality. Across her work with women and couples, she focuses on intimacy, self-connection, pleasure and relational repair, with a particular interest in supporting high-achievers who feel disconnected from themselves or their relationships. Key TakeawaysHigh-functioning women often lose access to intimacy because they are living almost entirely in the mind, not the body.Pleasure is not a luxury. It is a practice of presence, slowness and learning to feel again.Small rituals such as a sensual shower, slower meals and self-touch can help rebuild connection and nervous system safety.Intimacy in partnership often begins with self-intimacy and the willingness to choose yourself.Receiving can be harder than giving, especially for women conditioned to lead, manage and hold everything together.Memorable Quote“Will you choose yourself?” Connect with Katy OrahWebsite: https://www.yourcouplesintimacy.com School of Sensuality: https://www.schoolofsensuality.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/katy.orah/ Couples Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yourcouplesintimacy/ Connect with Kait + PhenXXKait on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kaitlyntregenza/PhenXX: https://www.phenxx.comPhenXX on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lovephenxxBecoming Flame Podcast on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/becomingflame.podYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@lovephenxxSponsored by PhenXX.com — use promo code "podcast" for 10% off your first purchase.

You Are the Witch and the Hunter

Content note: this episode discusses sexual assault and child abuse in the context of family history and ancestral work. Please listen with care. What if the ancestor you can't forgive and the ancestor who was never protected are the same bloodline — yours? In this solo episode, Kait explores what happened when she discovered her family tree holds both sides of an unforgivable act: her great-grandmother, eleven or twelve years old when she gave birth to Kait's grandfather, and the man responsible for it. Not one story. Both. In the same DNA, the same body, hers. Most ancestral work stops at grief for the victim. Kait goes to the room most people won't enter — the conversation with the violator's soul, and what he had to teach her about consequence, hell, and the exact mechanism by which one bad decision breeds the next. What she found wasn't permission or absolution. It was a harder, stranger truth: that refusing to hold both the harmed and the one who harmed — inside her own lineage, inside herself — is what keeps a woman small. The victim story and the villain story are each, on their own, a cage. Only holding both at once — without collapsing into either — is where she found what she calls her inestimable power. In this episode: — The discovery that reopened everything: her great-grandmother, eleven or twelve, and the grandfather born from it — The conversation with her great-grandfather's soul — his remorse, and what he said hell actually is — Why "victim hell" and "villain hell" are both spirals, and how staying in either one keeps you circling the same drain — The line that reframes the whole episode: you are the witch that was burned, and the hunter that burned her — Why reducing yourself — or your ancestors — to one label is a fracture from the truth of who you are, not a form of clarity — What changes in the body once you stop performing innocence and start integrating the full, uncomfortable complexity of your own bloodline — Why this work isn't about fixing anything — it's about refusing to keep denying the parts of you and your lineage you'd rather not claim This is not a tidy episode. It doesn't resolve into a lesson. It sits inside the contradiction on purpose, because Kait's argument is that the contradiction — held, not solved — is where the power was hiding the whole time. This episode is for the woman who has done the ancestral work on the side of the wound and stopped there. It's for the one who has built a whole identity out of never being the villain in anyone's story. And it's for anyone who has felt a strength in themselves they couldn't quite name — because it was hiding in the part of their story they'd been refusing to hold.

Learning to Receive More: Elisa Canali on Truth, Safety, and Expanding Your Capacity

What does it actually mean to become a woman who can receive more? In this episode, Kait sits down with Elisa Canali for a rich conversation on receiving as something far deeper than money. Together, they explore love, support, beauty, pleasure, truth, success, and the nervous system capacity required to hold more without collapsing, gripping, or performing. This is a conversation about expanding what feels safe, releasing old survival patterns, and becoming available for the life you truly desire. About Elisa CanaliElisa Canali is a business coach and feminine leadership mentor whose work explores wealth, identity, nervous system patterns, and self-trust. Through her coaching, writing, and online platforms, she supports women to build lives and businesses from deeper alignment rather than force. Key TakeawaysReceiving is not only about money. It includes love, support, beauty, appreciation, pleasure, and truth.Trauma and family conditioning shape what feels safe to receive, and what still feels out of reach. Many women stay in painful patterns by trying to source love from unavailable people.Grief can be part of growth, especially when accepting that some people cannot meet your needs.Coherence changes reality by bringing desire, truth, identity, and embodiment into alignment.Memorable QuoteYou are always receiving. Why High-Achieving Women Struggle to Receive Love: Rose Wild on Soft Power & Devotion

What happens when a woman is deeply capable in every area of life, yet still feels alone in love? In this episode of Becoming Flame, Kait Tregenza sits down with Rose Wild for a nuanced conversation on hyper-independence, soft power, devotion, self-worth, heartbreak, feminine leadership, and the deeper patterns that keep high-achieving women from receiving the love they say they want. Together, they explore how many women have been shaped by culture, feminism, family dynamics, and past relationships to become over-functioning, hyper-capable, and emotionally self-reliant, yet secretly exhausted by always having to hold it all. They unpack the shift from maiden to queen, the difference between comfort and love, and why true partnership asks a woman not to become smaller, but to become more honest. Rose shares her perspective on feminine devotion, inner union, discernment in dating, and how women can begin to unravel patterns of over-giving, over-responsibility, and relational self-abandonment. Kait brings her own lived experience to the conversation, including reflections on control, heartbreak, self-trust, co-parenting, and the kinds of relationships that become catalysts for truth rather than comfort. This is a rich, layered conversation for women who are strong, aware, emotionally intelligent, and ready to question whether hyper-independence is truly freedom, or simply protection. In this episode, we explore: Why so many high-achieving women feel alone in relationshipsHyper-independence, over-functioning, and the “capability tax”The difference between maiden energy, queen energy, and soft powerDevotion as a way of life, not just romanceWhy women can know their worth and still repeat painful relationship patternsHow heartbreak can diminish self-trust, and how to rebuild itThe difference between being chosen for validation and being met in real unionWhy discernment matters more than chemistry in datingThe hidden cost of always being the one in controlConflict, ego death, and how relationships can reveal what is still false in usWhy love may require burning away what is not trueHow to stay open to the possibility of healthy, devoted partnershipMemorable quote: “I need to just learn that I am enough as I am.” If this episode speaks to you, share it with a woman who is ready to soften without collapsing, receive without losing herself, and rewrite what love gets to feel like. You Can Have an Easeful Life — But It Won't Be Your Life: Maria Magdalena Garzon

Maria Magdalena Garzon has been sitting with one question for years: who am I when I stop performing? She works with women (and some men) who want to develop a genuine, deepening relationship with themselves — not the kind of self-knowledge that comes from journalling prompts or Instagram insights, but the kind that is cultivated over a lifetime. This conversation opens with a distinction that ran through everything: curiosity versus inquiry. Curiosity is the opening — the door swinging wide. Inquiry is what happens when you walk through it and start looking in the dark corners. Some wounds have guards. They need more than openness. They need a sustained investigation. We also talked about what a poor relationship with yourself actually looks like — and it doesn't look like obvious dysfunction. It looks like being easygoing. Fine with any restaurant. Happy to go wherever. Indifferent to most things. Maria and Kait pull this thread hard: that indifference is not flexibility, it's numbness. And numbness is the beginning of depression. Maria's pivot point came at 30: a relationship ended, a career collapsed, and she was left with a blank page. From there, she found ISTA — the International School of Temple Arts — and started unpacking the layers she'd spent her whole life building. The needs she didn't know she had. The no she'd never been able to say. Kait brings her own lens to all of this: the idea that enlightenment — the spiritual injunction to transcend the body, to leave, to ascend — is a patriarchal technology. That the real path is what she calls endarkenment: going deeper into the body, not out of it. Finding your own spark from the darkest place. The episode ends with Maria's vision for what a world of self-intimate people would look like: not a world where everyone is happy, but a world where everyone is alive. Colourful. Curious. Not fighting because they have nothing left to prove. Your Block May Not Begin With You: Ancestral Clearing work can up level your life

In this deeply personal solo episode of Becoming Flame, Kait explores what happens when an intuitive nudge interrupts the plan — and turns out to be the work itself. What begins as an ordinary attempt to sit down and work becomes an unexpected journey into her paternal family line, revealing a hidden story of ancestral shame, silence, girlhood, violence, abandonment, war, and the pain carried through generations. But this episode is not about genealogy. It is about learning to trust the side door. It is about the feminine path of creation — the one that does not move in a straight line, does not always make logical sense, and often asks us to follow the pull before we understand the outcome. Through this story, Kait explores how inherited shame can live in the body, how family wounds can shape our visibility, creativity, safety, sexuality, and capacity to receive, and why the deepest blocks to our work are not always personal failures. Sometimes they are unspoken stories in the line asking to be seen. This episode is also a reclamation of innocence: the innocence of the girl who was harmed, the child born into shame, and the descendants who inherit pain they did not create. A conversation on: • Why the feminine path is not linear • Following intuitive nudges even when they interrupt the plan • How ancestral shame can shape visibility, creation, business, and the body • Why hidden family stories may become present-life blocks • Releasing shame that was never yours to carry • The innocence of children born into secrecy, violence, or silence • Healing the paternal line without taking on saviour responsibility • Why we are not meant to do deep healing work alone • Turning inherited pain into truth, fire, protection, and creative power • Building a world where women and children are safe Key takeaways: The intuitive interruption is not always a distraction. Sometimes the thing pulling you away from the plan is the doorway into the next layer of your work.Your blocks may not begin with you. Shame, hiding, fear, numbness, and resistance can be inherited through family systems long before you know the story behind them. The shame belongs to the violation, not the woman or the child. When harm is done to women and children, the burden does not belong to the ones who were harmed or born from that harm. You are not meant to heal your lineage alone. Ancestral repair is not martyrdom. It requires support, humility, love, and a willingness to ask for help beyond the self. The wound can become an ally. When a hidden story is named with dignity, the power trapped inside that silence can return to the living. This episode is for the woman who keeps trying to move forward but feels an invisible weight in her body, her voice, her business, her motherhood, her sexuality, or her family line. It is for the woman learning that the path does not always reveal itself through discipline, strategy, or force. Sometimes it arrives as a whisper. Sometimes it arrives through the ancestor you were finally ready to meet. Sometimes the side door is the way.
