Welcome to the Silent Cradles Podcast, where we hear from women who have experienced a loss during the “safe zone” of pregnancy.    My name is Denise and I lost my beautiful son Malachi back in March 2023 at 14 weeks. I created this podcast to highlight the stories of real women who have persevered in the face of grief and loss.     Ang — Parenting Her from Earth | Full-term Stillbirth due to a Knot in the Umbilical Cord

    Ang lost her beautiful daughter, Sophia Grace, at full term in June 2025. In this episode, she shares the excitement of discovering she was pregnant after being diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis, walks us through her pregnancy, and speaks about the difficult circumstances surrounding Sophia Grace’s loss. To honor her daughter’s memory, Ang and her partner created Sophia Grace Scents, a wax melt small business that donates proceeds to baby loss charities.     Ashley — Taking Matters into My Own Hands | Cervical Insufficiency + Pregnancy After Loss with Transabdominal Cerclage

    Ashley experienced three miscarriages—two in the second trimester due to cervical insufficiency/incompetent cervix—before having her living son. After her third loss, she decided to pursue a transabdominal cerclage, which allowed her to carry her son to term. She also created a YouTube channel documenting her experiences with pregnancy loss and pregnancy after loss with the cerclage. Ashley’s channel became an incredible source of comfort and hope for me following my miscarriage, and I can’t thank her enough for sharing her story.     Shakira — Keeping their Memory Alive | Second-Trimester Twin Loss at 19 weeks

    In this episode, my guest, Shakira, walks us through the loss of her twin boys, Micaiah and Isaiah. She describes her excitement at finding out she was pregnant again after having two living children, the concerns that started brewing shortly after learning she was expecting twins, and the traumatic circumstances surrounding their birth at 19 weeks. She also delves into her experience with pregnancy after loss. Following her loss, Shakira has been working to raise awareness about second-trimester loss, as well as to improve bereavement care for parents in the UK.     Katie — Affirming her Humanity | Second-Trimester Loss at 21 Weeks Due to a Knot in the Umbilical Cord

    My guest, Katie, and I met on Instagram through our pages dedicated to pregnancy loss. In this episode, she introduces us to her beautiful daughter, Leona. Katie walks us through the excitement of discovering she was pregnant, navigating high-risk doctor’s appointments, and the circumstances surrounding Leona’s passing at 21 weeks due to a suspected knot in the umbilical cord. She also shares the story behind Leona’s Legacy Ministry, an initiative she created in her daughter’s honor. Through this ministry, Katie makes tiny blanket sets for babies born too soon, offering comfort to families in their most devastating moments. I am deeply grateful to Katie for her vulnerability in sharing her story and for her dedication to supporting grieving parents as they navigate life after pregnancy loss.
