Ballykissangel - Series 6 - The Unexpected End?

In this video, I analyse the sixth and final series of the beloved BBC drama Ballykissangel. This controversial final season saw massive cast changes and a shift in the show's direction. Was it a fitting end, or did the magic die with earlier departures? This is part of my ongoing Ballykissangel series analysis - if you missed my Series 1 video, check it out: https://youtu.be/IVUFxs3HjZ8Timestamps: 0:00 Welcome!1:22 The Ballykissangel Heyday (15 million viewers)3:12 Padraig's departure (Peter Caffrey leaves BallyK)3:30 Brian Quigley: Why we loved Brian Quigley and actor Tony Doyle4:30 Bad luck behind the scenes5:45 Actor Peter Hanley (Garda Ambrose Egan) bumbles his way out of the show7:05 The intriguing end to Series 5 (with many threads never fulfilled)7:55 Colin Farrell's megaverse of stardom!8:54 The hammer blow 28/01/00: Tony Doyle dies in London10:22 Kieran Prendiville to steer BallyK back to success....11:26 Your name doesn't sound familiar: Is it Sean or Paul Dooley? Monarch of the Glen got a proper send off, but not BallyK!The documentary I am referring to is called 'On the Ballykissangel trail' and the only copy I have found is on the American Region 1 DVD as a bonus. It is on Youtube, but not legally! In this documentary Liam (Joe Savino) and Donal (Frankie Cafferty) tour Avoca, the show's home in County Wicklow, and speak about the show in the near past tense - it had just been cancelled. It's a fascinating documentary, and Frankie makes the point that things had come full circle, and the show was running out of new ideas. What are YOUR thoughts on Series 6? Drop a comment below and let's discuss! If you enjoyed this analysis, please like and subscribe for more classic British TV retrospectives, music analysis, and tech content.#Ballykissangel #BritishTV #BBCDrama #ClassicTV #TVReview #1990sTV #IrishDrama #kieranprendiville #tonydoyle #frankiecafferty #roberttaylor #colinfarrell #birdysweeney

    Marillion - The Hogarth Years

Marillion Steve Hogarth analysis: exploring the H era from 1989-present. Progressive rock deep-dive into Marillion's transformation from Fish to Steve Hogarth, covering Seasons End, Brave, Afraid of Sunlight, Marbles, and the evolution of one of prog rock's most enduring bands. In this video I explore my initially difficult relationship with Marillion as Steve ‘H’ Hogarth took over the helm from the much-loved Fish in 1989. From an unpromising start in the early 90s with an overly ambitious compilation to show off the ‘new guy’, I developed a deep and profound love of the work of this interesting singer, philosopher, lyricist and showman. Steve - your glass is definitely half-full!
