    Welcome fellow travelers of the dark, tonight the illusion of a modern West Coast sanctuary is completely stripped away, and the cold, unyielding reality of a defaulted blood ledger takes center stage. Tonight, Chapter Two of RE-POSSESSED, “In For A Penny,” is live and we will learn that the adgeage ‘you can run but you cannot hide’ holds true. Lock your doors, pretend you completely secure, close your eyes, cover your ears—but know a blood debt does not dissolve or disappear and when it comes calling you must pay. Step into the suffocating, claustrophobic bowels of the Carmel Valley foothills where Thomas White sits bound to a chair inside a hidden subterranean sacrificial alter. Seated beside him a half decomposed but “breathing” catacature of dear Aunt Helen. He is about to learn exactly what a true family inheritance looks like. And in the driveway sits the mechanical straight-six heart of the 1954 silver Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, having just ignited all on its own in the driveway fog a spirit that will come to claim all. The collections are being reassigned, the boundaries are breached, and the players are about to find out they are nothing but pawns in a larger game of cosmic proportions and unholy ‘corporate’ takeover. For Thomas and Courtney White, the ledger did not open with a terrifying scream or a sudden, violent breach in the midnight dark. No, it opened with the turn of a lock and the inheritance of a dream home in the sun-drenched intoxication of the Carmel Valley escrow clearance. They believed a sprawling, mid-century modern architectural sanctuary nestled deep in the Santa Lucia foothills—backed by a solid portfolio and good bank standing—was an absolute shield against the haunts of everyday life. And in so much as everyday life, they were right. But the inheritance they took in, had nothing to do with life whatsoever. In this jurisdiction, their default was written the moment they gave themselves over to five of the seven deadly sins. Hidden deep within the property, behind the chained doors of a concrete outbuilding, sat a pristine, Aluminum Alloy-Bodied 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing—immaculate, silver, and holding an unnatural, pulsing warmth beneath its metal skin. The happy couple believed they had won an absolute lottery, an estate, a truly ‘unGodly’ amount of money, and a rarified chariot of steel. What they did not understand is that the lottery ticket they won would be paid for in blood.     Most people prefer the comfortable, padded illusions of the daylight. They scurry about their short, frantic little lives, terrified of what lies just beyond the high fences of the lot. But you possess a curiosity for the deeper, more exquisite textures of the dark. The Book of Proverbs warned us: “Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief.” Frank thought Lana was in pieces inside the locked trunk of that 1949 Hudson Commodore. He was wrong. In this town, the dead don’t stay that way for long. When the slide pulls back empty on his .45 Colt, Frank realizes that the bartender’s real trade is not in drinks, but the debt of a human soul. This is a public episode.     To Kill For: Cellulloid Obituary

    It is a terrible thing to stand in a fresh grave and mistake the dirt walls for the walls of your castle. Frank Hammett sits inside the smoky warmth of the Messenger’s Tavern, nursing a heavy pour and talking baseball. Blind to the fact that it is in reality a slow, cosmic burial masquerading as a warm neighborhood bar room, and that the final lease on his existence has already expired. A detective can spend his whole life tracking down other people’s secrets, while his own quietly find a way to track him down.     THE LOT: To Kill For — Chapter One

    Romans 6:23 : "For the wages of sin is death…” A clean, binary calculation written in the ancient ink of a ledger. But scripture does not always recount the gruesome details of the broad way that ‘leadeth to perdition‘. Or the way a man's hands begin to shake when he realizes the stranger pouring his bourbon has already traced the patterns left on the blood soaked carpet of a Nob Hill condominium. Frank was right… there are just some places a man can no longer go, OR escape. He thought if he drove fast enough, and far enough away the screaming pleas of a betrayed friend would no longer echo in his mind. But worse than any cold memory, is a warm one— one that wraps her arms around you, and covers you with sweet nothings and kisses that are more deadly than the edge of a razor sharp stiletto. We will find out, betrayals just like the lines in war are always blurred. And in the trunk of that nineteen forty nine Hudson Commodore the pieces of Frank’s terrifying past are fighting to be heard… Stay in the Light, or be Swallowed by the Shadows.
