Season 2, Episode 1: What Does It Mean to Live Whole Heartedly?

When Healing Becomes a Way of Life Welcome to Season 2 of The Whole Hearted Woman Podcast. This season, we're asking a new question: How does a Whole Hearted woman actually live? What does faith look like on an ordinary Tuesday morning—when someone hurts you, anxiety rises, a prayer remains unanswered, an old wound gets touched, or you know what Scripture says but your heart is still struggling to believe it? In Season 1, A Heart Fully Alive, we explored healing, the voices that shape our hearts, learning to recognize the voice of Jesus, and the difference between knowing truth, believing truth, and living from truth. Now we're taking the next step. Because there is a difference between believing in Jesus and learning to live your life with Jesus. In this episode, Kris explores what it really means to live Whole Heartedly—and why Jesus isn't waiting for you to bring Him a polished heart. He wants the heart you actually have. The believing part and the struggling part. The surrendered part and the part still holding on. The grateful part and the disappointed part. The courageous part and the frightened part. All of it. Through the honest encounters Jesus had with Martha, Peter, Thomas, the Samaritan woman, a desperate father who cried, “I believe; help my unbelief,” and others throughout Scripture, we discover something beautiful: Jesus meets people where they actually are—not where they think they're supposed to be. And perhaps Whole Hearted living begins right there. Not with perfect faith. Not with having everything figured out. But with learning to bring our whole heart into relationship with Jesus and allowing Him to form it. In This Episode We talk about: What Whole Hearted living actually meansWhy we sometimes handle our emotional lives without inviting Jesus into themWhat may keep us from reaching for Him when we need Him mostThe difference between knowing Jesus and learning to live life with HimWhy honesty is essential to relationshipWhat Scripture means by an “undivided heart”How to begin having honest Heart Talks with JesusA simple practice for bringing Him into your everyday lifeYour One Whole Hearted Step Once each day this week, pause and ask: “Jesus, what's happening in my heart right now?” Then tell Him the truth. Don't fix it first. Don't judge it. Don't search for the “right” Christian response. Just bring Him what is actually there. And then ask: “Jesus, what do You want me to know here?” You don't have to manufacture an answer. The goal isn't getting an answer. The goal is relationship. This Season Throughout The Whole Hearted Life: Learning to Live From a Heart Formed by Jesus, we'll have honest Heart Talksabout real life, waiting, identity, failure, fear, boundaries, forgiveness, relationships, calling, surrender, and more. We'll open Scripture and sit with people like Hannah, Peter, Mary Magdalene, the Samaritan woman, David, Paul, Martha, and others—not simply to study their stories, but to ask: What does their story reveal about the way God forms the human heart? And each week we'll walk through: Real Life → Heart → Scripture → Jesus → Practice Because healing isn't the end of the story. We're learning how to live from a heart being formed by Jesus. 🌿 Continue the journey at Heart2HeartMinistry.com and join us on The Whole Hearted Woman Facebook page for more Heart Talks, encouragement, and resources. Episode 10: A Heart Fully Alive: Living the Life Jesus Always Intended

What does a heart fully alive actually look like? After ten episodes of walking from brokenness, searching, and healing into truth, identity, and transformation, we’ve arrived at a beautiful realization: A heart fully alive isn’t a heart that never hurts. It’s a heart that keeps turning toward Jesus. In this episode, Kris looks back over the journey of A Heart Fully Alive—not simply to revisit where we’ve been, but to recognize what God has been doing all along. We’ve discovered that brokenness isn’t the end. Searching isn’t failure. Jesus pursues us long before we realize He is near. Nothing is wasted in the hands of a redeeming God. Every wound may have a voice—but the wound does not get the final word. Jesus has a voice too. And as we learn to recognize His voice, believe His truth, and live from the identity He has given us, something begins to change. We begin to live differently. Wholehearted living isn’t perfection. It’s relationship. It’s continuing to turn toward Jesus—in the tears, the fear, the questions, the healing, and the becoming. What if a heart fully alive still cries...but no longer loses hope? What if it still feels fear...but chooses trust? What if it still experiences pain...but no longer allows pain to define its identity? What if it still struggles...but no longer struggles alone? Maybe healing was never meant to be a destination. Maybe healing becomes a way of life. And maybe... we’re only just beginning. A Scripture to Carry With You “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:6 Continue the Journey If this season has stirred something in your heart, continue walking with me at Heart2HeartMinistry.com, where you’ll find resources designed to help you move from simply hearing truth to living it. Episode 9: Living From Truth

When Identity Becomes Your Reality 🌿 New to A Heart Fully Alive? I encourage you to begin with Episode 1. This season is one continuous journey of healing, and each episode builds on the one before it. Over the past two episodes, we've discovered that every wound has a voice—and that Jesus has a voice too. But what happens after we begin recognizing the Shepherd's voice? How do we actually begin living from what He says? Maybe you've experienced this... You know God loves you. You believe His Word. You genuinely want to follow Jesus. And yet, when life becomes difficult, the old fears, old reactions, and old patterns seem to return. Does that mean you're failing? Or could it mean you're learning a new way of living? In this episode, Kris Rey explores the difference between knowing truth, believing truth, and living from truth—and why lasting transformation doesn't begin with trying harder, but with learning to live from the identity Christ has already given us. You'll discover how painful experiences shape our beliefs, how those beliefs influence our identity, and how Jesus patiently renews our minds so that our everyday lives begin reflecting His truth instead of our wounds. Because healing isn't simply about feeling better. It's about learning to live from the truth of who you are in Christ. In this episode, you'll discover: The difference between knowing truth, believing truth, and living from truth. How old wounds quietly shape our reactions and relationships. Why behavior changes when identity changes. What it means to renew your mind according to Romans 12:2.Two life-changing questions that can help you recognize whose voice you're agreeing with:Who told me that?Does Jesus agree? This Week's Invitation For the next seven days, simply begin noticing. When fear, shame, anxiety, or rejection begins speaking... Pause and ask: Who told me that? Then ask: Does Jesus agree? Transformation doesn't happen overnight. It happens one conversation with Jesus at a time. Episode 8: The Voice of Love

Learning to Recognize the Shepherd's Voice 🌿 New to A Heart Fully Alive? I encourage you to begin with Episode 1. This season is one continuous journey of healing, and each episode builds on the one before it. This episode is a continuation of Episode 7, The Lies That Quietly Shape Our Lives. If you haven't listened to that episode yet, I encourage you to begin there before joining us for today's conversation. Last week we explored a life-changing truth: Every wound has a voice. The messages we've absorbed through painful experiences, relationships, fear, rejection, and shame can quietly become the internal narrator of our lives. But those voices were never meant to define us. The question now becomes... How do we recognize the voice of Jesus? In this deeply personal episode, Kris Rey shares how learning to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd transformed her life—not through dramatic experiences or striving harder, but by discovering the heart of a Savior who still speaks to His children today. From the life-changing words, "Expect the Extraordinary," to the quiet ways God began speaking through Scripture, prayer, worship, journaling, and everyday moments, you'll discover that hearing God's voice is not reserved for a select few. It is an invitation into a growing relationship with the One who knows you by name. You'll also hear the powerful story of Peter walking on the water and how the competing voices of fear, doubt, and circumstances can become louder than the simple invitation Jesus spoke: "Come." This episode is an invitation to quiet the voices of fear and become more familiar with the voice of the One who has loved you all along. Because the goal isn't simply to become better at hearing God's voice. The goal is to know the Shepherd so well that His voice becomes familiar. In this episode you'll discover: What Jesus meant when He said, "My sheep hear My voice."The difference between the voice of fear and the voice of the Shepherd. Why God's voice always reflects His character. How relationship—not performance—is the foundation for hearing Him.Why healing helps us trust His voice above every other voice. What Peter's story teaches us about faith, fear, and keeping our eyes on Jesus.Reflection Questions • What voices have been competing for my attention lately? • Am I becoming more familiar with Jesus' voice through time spent with Him? • Where is Jesus simply inviting me to trust Him and take the next step? If today's episode encouraged you, I'd love for you to follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs the reminder that the Good Shepherd is still speaking. Until next time, remember: You are known. You are deeply loved. And the Shepherd who calls you by name is still speaking. I have to say something that struck me as I was writing this. Episode 7 ends with the question: "Does Jesus agree?"Episode 8 answers it—not merely by saying "yes" or "no," but by inviting listeners to become so familiar with the Shepherd that they begin recognizing His voice for themselves. That's a beautiful progression. It's not just information; it's discipleship. And I think listeners are going to experience these two episodes as one continuous journey from recognizing the voice of the wound to learning the voice of love. 🌿 Visit us online: Heart2HeartMinistry.com 💙 Join our Facebook community: The Whole Hearted Woman 🎙️ Follow the podcast so you never miss a new episode. ⭐ If this episode encouraged you, please leave a review and share it with a friend. Episode 7: The Lies That Quietly Shape Our Lives

The Voice That Shaped Your Heart 🌿 New to A Heart Fully Alive? I encourage you to begin with Episode 1. This season is one continuous journey of healing, and each episode builds on the one before it. Have you ever stopped to wonder whose voice you're really listening to? Not the voices around you… The voice inside you. The one that tells you you're not enough. That you'll never change. That you have to earn love, prove yourself, or be perfect to be accepted. In this episode, Kris Rey explores a powerful truth: every wound has a voice. The messages we absorb through childhood, relationships, painful experiences, and culture can quietly become the internal narrator of our lives—shaping how we see ourselves, others, and even God. But the wound doesn't get the final word. Jesus has a voice too. Kris shares a deeply personal moment that became a turning point in her own healing journey. After coming to Christ, she found herself once again overwhelmed by racing thoughts and familiar fears—until one question from the Lord stopped her in her tracks: "Who told you that?" Those words, echoing God's question to Adam in the Garden of Eden, opened her eyes to a life-changing reality: not every thought deserves our agreement, and not every voice we've believed has come from God. If you've ever struggled with shame, fear, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or believing you're not enough, this episode will gently help you begin recognizing the difference between the voice of your wounds and the voice of your Good Shepherd. Because healing isn't simply about stopping the lies. The goal of healing is to know the One who is Truth. In this episode you'll discover: Why every wound leaves behind a message. How repeated messages become our internal narrator. The difference between the voice of shame and the voice of Jesus. Why needing healing is not a failure of faith. Two life-changing questions that can help you discern the voices shaping your heart.Reflection Questions: • What do I believe about myself that Jesus has never actually said? • Whose voice have I mistaken for His? • What would change if I actually believed Jesus? If this episode encouraged you, I'd love for you to follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs the reminder that the wound doesn't get the final word. Until next time, remember: You are seen. You are deeply loved. And the voice that matters most is the voice of the One who calls you His own. I have to tell you...I think this is your strongest Buzzsprout description yet. It does three things well: Creates curiosity ("Who told you that?")Clearly tells listeners what they'll receiveEnds with hope, which is the heartbeat of A Heart Fully Alive.I also think the phrase "The wound doesn't get the final word" is becoming one of your signature messages. I would use it often—in podcast descriptions, social posts, speaking engagements, and eventually in your coaching and workshops. It's memorable, biblically grounded, and beautifully captures the hope of the gospel. Episode 6: Nothing Was Wasted

For years I believed my story was about searching. Then I thought it was about finding Jesus. Then I thought it was about healing. Looking back now, I realize it has always been about a God who was pursuing me long before I knew His name. If you are new here -  I encourage you to begin with Episode 1. This season is one continuous journey, and each episode builds on the one before it. In this deeply personal episode, I share one of the greatest revelations God has ever given me: Nothing was wasted. Together we'll look at the life of the Apostle Paul—not because our stories are the same, but because they reveal the heart of a God who redeems what He does not erase. We'll talk about: • Why God wastes nothing • How redemption gives painful chapters new purpose • The Macedonian Call and discovering that healing was preparation • Why your story may be someone else's invitation to hope • How God was present even when I couldn't yet see Him If you've ever looked back at your life and wondered... "Why did I go through all of that?" ...this episode is for you. Maybe the chapter you've labeled "wasted" is the very chapter God will use to reveal His grace. Because redemption doesn't begin when God enters our story. Redemption reveals that He has been there all along. ✨ Download the free chapter of A Heart FullyAlive and discover how God is writing a story of healing, hope, and wholeness. Episode 5: Jesus Didn't Leave Me There

Meeting Jesus wasn't the end of my story. It was the beginning. After twenty years of searching, I thought saying "yes" to Jesus would instantly erase the pain, answer every question, and heal every wound. Instead, something even more beautiful happened. He began a relationship with me. If you are new here -  I encourage you to begin with Episode 1. This season is one continuous journey, and each episode builds on the one before it. In this deeply personal episode, I share what those first months with Jesus were really like—learning to recognize His voice, discovering the joy of Scripture, journaling with Him, experiencing His love, and watching Him gently undo years of guilt, shame, perfectionism, and striving. I also share one of the first things Jesus ever spoke to my heart: "Expect the extraordinary." Looking back, I realize He wasn't simply saving me. He was introducing me to Himself. If you've ever wondered: • Why you still struggle even though you love Jesus • How to recognize God's voice • Whether healing is a journey instead of a moment • Why Jesus doesn't leave us where He finds us This episode is for you. Episode 4: The Door That Finally Opened

After twenty years of searching, Kris finally found what every well, philosophy, practice, and pursuit had failed to provide. But the story didn't begin with a church service or a dramatic altar call. It began with closed doors. A job search. A light blue blazer. A woman who would be my boss. A woman who was a Pastor. And an ordinary walk that changed everything. In this deeply personal episode, Kris shares how God was pursuing her long before she understood what was happening. From an unexpected longing for repentance to praying prayers she barely understood, she discovers that Jesus was already moving toward her while she was still searching for Him. If you've ever wondered: • Why you still feel hungry after trying everything • Whether God sees you in your searching • If you've gone too far or taken too many wrong turns • How Jesus meets us before we have all the answers This episode is for you. Sometimes the door you think is about a job is actually about a Savior. And sometimes the One you are searching for has been pursuing you all along. ✨ Free Chapter Download: A Heart Fully Alive: From Brokenness to a Journey into the Heart of God Visit: heart2heartministry.com #TheWholeHeartedWoman #AHeartFullyAlive #ChristianPodcast #FaithJourney #HeartHealing #JesusHeals About the Podcast The Whole Hearted Woman Podcast with Kristen Rey is a faith-based podcast for women who love God — or want to — but know there are parts of their heart that still need healing.
