    Romans 6:8-14 - Faith is about more!

    Send Tim a note If you are a person of the resurrection, in other words you believe in Jesus, how does that change your life today? Our faith isn’t just about the afterlife, it’s about the power of God working in us moment by moment.  I believe the Spirit of God can truly move the pieces of our lives around until we are fully new.   I also believe that one of the main ways that happens is when we let Scripture speak into our depths.     Genesis 19

    Send Tim a note This passage is WILD!  We'll take time to discuss what the sin of Sodom was but much more importantly, learn from Lot's experience.  While the moral of this story is often misunderstood, we can benefit in our relationship with God by paying attention to what's happening.     Matthew 6:25-34

    Psalm 19

We all have thoughts and feelings when it comes to Scripture, probably both positive and negative based on past experiences with it.  Even the way people talk about it or use it in our lives can shape our view of God's word.     Joshua 9:16-27

    Send Tim a note Have you noticed how clever and resourceful con artists can be?  I hate it when they’re good at it and succeed!  I’ll be honest, while I’m mad at them, I’m usually mad at myself too for believing it.  I’m a smart guy, at least I thought I was!  Why couldn’t I see through their charade?  Probably because I was busy believing the best about everybody.  If you can relate to that feeling, this is especially for you. Our passage is Joshua 9:16-27, the second half of the story about the Gibeonite deception, the part where Joshua and the other leaders realize they’ve been had. What can we learn about leadership, listening to God, and making better decisions?     Genesis 18

    Matthew 6:19-24

    Send Tim a note What do you think heaven will be like?  Do you ever let your imagination sort of drift into those possibilities?  Scripture does give us glimpses; descriptions and pictures of it that can help us and I feel like we should read them, in part to let ourselves get caught up in the hope of eternity with Christ.  You can read about that in Revelation 21, 22.  Our passage is  the part where Jesus teaches about money in the Sermon on the Mount.  It calls us to consider where we are storing up our hope and security and challenges us to consider who we are really serving.
