Naan Bread, Late Friends & Psychosis on Trial

Send us Fan Mail Dr. JJ (Psychiatrist) and Dr. Domi (Pediatric Anesthesiologist) dive deep in Episode 17. Dr. JJ shares her residency "Hump Day Happy Hour" escape & discovers mahjong, and both hosts rave about the physician content creator community. Weekend at Mitch's: Pill Mills & Puppet Politicians

Send us Fan Mail This one starts with Dr. Domi getting fully roasted by two teenagers for not promoting the podcast enough, which somehow turns into a whole bit about "Emma Grede-ing it" and a shameless plug for her book (again, no shame). Then the doctors get into the real tea: a Bay Area psychiatrist just got sentenced for prescribing almost 400,000 stimulant pills without seeing patients, and they break down how a pandemic era telehealth loophole turned into a full blown pill mill scandal, plus the ADHD patients who got caught in the mess afterward. From there they open an unofficial medical investigation into Mitch McConnell's three week hospitalization and spiral into a much bigger question: when is it actually time for someone (a politician, a doctor, anyone) to step aside? Dr. JJ gets real about her own dad's retirement and how illness ended up making that decision for him. They also talk about Dr. Domi's new Substack, The Pitt's Emmy nominations and Hollywood's habit of sidelining the diverse casts it built its name on, Spielberg's new alien movie Disclosure Day, and whether "same old, same old" is really a bad thing or just comfort in disguise. Obviously it ends with a very serious pitch for a Weekend at Bernie's style remake called Weekend at Mitch's. Kids? In this Economy?: Sperm Parties, The Invite & a Fizzled Fourth

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, Dr. JJ and Dr. Domi dive into a flu outbreak among military trainees tied to relaxed vaccine mandates, the deadly heat waves scorching Europe, and an earthquake in Venezuela — all through the lens of climate change and policy failures. Then they shift gears into personal territory: Dr. JJ recounts attending a "sperm-picking party" for a friend pursuing single motherhood, sparking a wide-ranging conversation about sperm and egg donation, donor diversity, and the surprisingly detailed (and sometimes unsettling) process behind it. The hosts get candid about their own choices to remain childfree, reflecting on career demands, personality fit, and what parenthood really requires. They close out with pop culture recommendations — the show Best Medicine and Olivia Wilde's new film The Invite — plus a wry take on the underwhelming buzz around the country's upcoming 250th anniversary celebration.
