    Episode 21: Vampire's Kiss

Are we getting THROUGH TO YOU?? This week, Josh and Jesse take a bite out of the 1988 dark comedy classic, Vampire’s Kiss. They break down Nicolas Cage’s iconic performance, analyze the movie’s playful subversion of vampire tropes, and discuss its juxtaposition of broad comedy and horrific violence. At the top of the hour, they share what they’ve been watching for spooky season, and Jesse gives a report about Video Store Day at Scarecrow Video. Plus, they talk about new releases from Criterion, Celluloid Dreams, MUBI, and more! AND: our friend Philip from The Substance podcast is in the running to win the Top Host competition!
