    Sermon - Your Enemy in Focus - The Overcomers

    Sermon Outline Focus: There is a spiritual battle beneath the battles we can see. We overcome by recognizing the enemy and standing in the victory Jesus has already won. 1. Recognize the real enemy.        “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood…” (Ephesians 6:12)        Different faces. Different moments. Same enemy.        People are not the enemy. People are the mission field.        Question: Am I fighting people when God is calling me to fight for them? 2. Recognize how the enemy fights.        The enemy works through temptation, accusation, deception, division, isolation, and fear.        We don’t fight lies with feelings. We fight lies with truth.        Question: What lie of the enemy have I started believing? 3. Fight from Christ’s victory.        “They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb…” — Revelation 12:11        The cross looked like Satan’s victory. It became Satan’s defeat.        We don’t fight for victory. We fight from victory. 4. What “face” of the enemy am I contending with and what do I need to surrender to Jesus?        The battle is real. But Jesus Christ has already overcome.     Sermon - Your Witness to the World - The Overcomers

    Sermon Outline Focus: In a world experiencing both God’sjudgment and grace, believers are called to faithfully bear witness to Jesus with courage, truth, and love. I. We witness because the world needs to hear.       Even during judgment, God continues to send His Word and call people to           repentance.       Judgment is real. But grace is still being offered. We warn because we love.       Question: Who has God placed in my life who needs to hear about Jesus? II. We witness even when it costs us.       Faithful witness will not always be applauded.       Our witness should carry the character of the Lamb: Truth without hostility.           Conviction without cruelty. Courage without arrogance. Grace without           compromise.       Overcomers don’t measure success by applause. Overcomers measure success by           faithfulness to Jesus.       Question: Do I want to be liked more than I want to be faithful? III. We witness because apparent defeat is not the end.       The witnesses appear defeated – but God raises and vindicates them.       We do not control the outcome of our witness.     Conversation - with Pastor Jared and Pastor Robby - Overcomers Week 3

    n this episode of Kingdom Conversations, Pastor Robby Strock sits down with Pastor Jared Priset to continue our Overcomers series and take a deeper look at Revelation 5. John is given a glimpse into heaven and sees a scroll sealed with seven seals—but no one is found worthy to open it. As John begins to weep, his attention is turned to Jesus: the victorious Lion of Judah who is also revealed as the sacrificial Lamb. Together, Robby and Jared explore what this powerful picture teaches us about strength, dependence, and what it really means to overcome. Why can it be so difficult to admit that we aren't strong enough on our own? What does it mean to depend on Christ rather than simply trying harder? And what does Jesus reveal about God's Kingdom when victory comes not only through power, but through sacrificial love? The encouraging truth of Revelation is this: our strength is not found in becoming stronger—our strength is found in belonging to the One who has overcome.     Sermon - Your Strength in Christ - The Overcomers

    Sermon Outline Focus: Our strength and courage are not found in becoming stronger ourselves, but in belonging to Jesus – the Lion who has conquered and the Lamb who was slain. I. Admit that you are not strong enough.          No one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth was worthy to open the scroll.          We cannot save ourselves, fix ourselves, or overcome through our own strength.          Christianity does not say, “Dig deeper and find the strength inside yourself.” It says:               Look to Jesus.         Question: What am I trying to carry in my own strength? II. Look to the Lion who has conquered.          “Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered…” (v. 5).          Jesus is the promised King, and His victory is already secure.          Christian courage is not saying, “I’m strong enough.”          Christian courage is saying, “Jesus is stronger.”          Question: Where do I need courage to trust Christ’s victory? III. Find your strength in the Lion who became the Lamb.          John hears: The Lion. John sees: The Lamb (v. 6).          The Lion wins by becoming the Lamb.          Jesus conquered through sacrifice, the cross, and the resurrection.          Kingdom strength doesn’t always roar. Sometimes Kingdom strength surrenders. IV. This Week ask: “Jesus, what am I carrying that I need to surrender to You?”          You don’t need to be the Lion. You already have One.     Conversation - with Pastor Jared and Pastor Robby - Overcomers Launch

    Church of the Lakes launches a new eight-week sermon series, Overcomers, exploring one of the Bible’s most powerful—and often misunderstood—books: Revelation. When many people think about Revelation, their minds immediately go to the Antichrist, 666, beasts, prophecy, and the end times. But at the heart of Revelation is something much bigger: Jesus Christ is King, He has overcome, and through Him, we can overcome too. In this episode of Kingdom Conversations, Pastor Robby Strock sits down with Pastor Jared Priset to unpack the overarching themes of Revelation and introduce the journey ahead. They discuss why Revelation was given to Christians not simply to construct timelines, but to give them courage; what it means to believe that God intentionally placed us in this generation; and how followers of Jesus can live confidently in a culture that often pulls them in another direction. They also explore a powerful truth from the opening message of the series: “You don't overcome because you're strong. You overcome because Jesus overcame.” What does it look like to stop fighting for victory and instead begin living from the victory we already have in Christ? As Church of the Lakes begins this eight-week journey through Revelation, the challenge is bigger than simply understanding the book. It is learning how, together, we can live like it, love like it, serve like it, and witness like it—because Jesus is still on the throne.
