Front Porch Apologetics | Jehovah Witnesses

What do Jehovah’s Witnesses believe about Jesus—and how do those teachings compare with what the Bible actually says? In this episode of The Family Style Podcast, Ben and Colby are joined by Jonathan, a young apologist who has spent time studying and responding to Jehovah’s Witness theology, and Alain, who grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness before coming to faith in Jesus Christ. We discuss important questions surrounding the identity of Jesus Christ, His deity, His bodily resurrection, salvation, and the authority of Scripture. We also look at passages including Luke 24:39, John 20:27, Acts 2:31, and Acts 13:34–37 and consider how they challenge key Watchtower teachings concerning the resurrection of Jesus. But this episode is more than an apologetics discussion. Alain shares his personal story of growing up within the Jehovah’s Witness organization, the circumstances God used to challenge what he had been taught, and how he ultimately came to know Jesus Christ. Our desire is not simply to win an argument. It is to speak the truth in love, equip believers to understand what they believe and why they believe it, and encourage Christians to lovingly point Jehovah’s Witness friends and family members to the Scriptures. Grab your Bible and join us for a Family Style conversation about truth, apologetics, the gospel, and the real Jesus.
