The Deadly Tea Podcast

Marie Zambrano, Amira Abdin

The Deadly Tea Podcast ☕🖤 Hosted by Marie Zambrano & Amira Abdin —a duo who talks about everything (and probably overshares)—The Deadly Tea is where the darkest, most unsettling true stories come to spill small-town and out-of-town true crime, mental health reminders or that deadly tea everyone whispers about but never says out loud.  If it followed you, scared you, changed you, or made you question reality—this is your place. We only accept true stories.

Season 2: Episode 6: Suicide Awareness

Send us Fan Mail ⚠️ CONTENT & SUICIDE AWARENESS WARNING: This episode discusses suicidal thoughts, mental health struggles, grief, and suicide prevention. Please take care of yourself while listening and skip this episode if the subject matter may be triggering for you. After a much-needed break, Deadly Tea Podcast is back—and this time, it’s a deeply personal solo episode. Life behind the scenes has been heavy. Grief, healing, motherhood, personal struggles, and simply trying to keep going can sometimes become more than we know how to carry. In this episode, I open up about why the podcast went quiet and why taking a step back doesn’t mean giving up—it sometimes means choosing yourself long enough to heal. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and this episode is an honest conversation about what suicidal thoughts can feel like, the loneliness that can come with struggling in silence, and why asking for help is not weakness. We talk about the difference between wanting your life to end and desperately wanting your pain to end, how to recognize when someone may be struggling, how to reach out, and what it can look like to take life one moment at a time. Most importantly, this episode is a reminder: You don’t have to have everything figured out today.  You don’t have to carry every battle alone.  And your story isn’t over just because this chapter hurts. If you’re struggling right now, please tell someone. A friend. A family member. A therapist. Your doctor. Anyone you trust. And if you feel like you may hurt yourself or you aren’t sure you can stay safe, please reach out for immediate support. 🆘 NEED HELP NOW?
