You have never had a reason to look closer. Why would you? But there is something behind the mirror. Something that was there a second ago, in the corner of your eye. It's gone now. You think. The world still looks the way it always has. The lights come on. The trains run. Everyone keeps smiling. But somewhere underneath, the rules have shifted, or they were never what you believed in the first place. And you'll find out the way everyone does, one careful, reasonable decision at a time. Each episode of The Color and the Shape is a single story, told through the eyes of someone who was there. And might still be there. Speculative fiction, sci-fi horror, folk horror, and cosmic dread, for listeners who keep the lights low and let their eyes adjust.     Nestled near the edge of the George Washington National Forest in Brandywine, West Virginia, there's a clearing surrounded by a tall chain link fence. At first glance it looks empty, except for what appears to be white field paint, the kind schools use to mark a football field, running off in a long lazy arc. Then you follow it, and the arc closes. It's a circle. A geometrically perfect circle, a hundred yards across, and it's older than the fence around it and older than the trees outside it. Nobody knows who put it there.
