Daily Devotional: John Mayer Said Wait on the World to Change… Jesus Said Be the Change

John Mayer sang about Waiting on the World to Change — a feeling many of us can relate to when we look around and see division, brokenness, and a world that desperately needs something different. But what if God never called us to simply wait for change? In this episode of The Hall Hotline, we look at the difference between recognizing what's wrong with the world and actually doing something about it. James tells us not to merely listen to God's Word, but to do what it says. Jesus tells us that we are the light of the world. Maybe we're waiting for someone else to make a difference when God is saying: You're the someone. You may not be able to change the entire world—but through one conversation, one invitation, one prayer, one act of kindness, or one step of obedience, God can use you to change someone's world. Don't just wait for the world to change. Be part of the change God wants to bring through you. 📖 Scriptures: James 1:22 • Matthew 5:14–16 • Philippians 2:14–15 🎵 Hidden Gospel Series — Week 5: Purpose, Legacy & The Road Ahead Stand Firm. Daily Devotional: Michael Jackson Was Right... Start with the Man in the Mirror

What if the biggest change God wants to make isn't in your spouse, your coworkers, your church, or even your country... but in you? In this episode of The Hall Hotline's Hidden Gospel series, we explore Michael Jackson's iconic song Man in the Mirror and uncover the powerful biblical truth that real transformation begins with personal repentance. David's prayer in Psalm 51, James' teaching that God's Word is like a mirror, and Hebrews' call to respond "today" all point to the same life-changing reality: before asking God to change the world around us, we should first ask Him to change the person staring back at us in the mirror. If you've ever found yourself praying, "God, change them," this episode will challenge you to pray a different prayer: "God... start with me." Scripture References: Psalm 51:10James 1:22-25Hebrews 3:15If this episode encouraged you, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs the reminder that lasting change starts in the heart. Daily Devotional: Judas Called Him Teacher... Not Lord

Can you know about Jesus without truly knowing Jesus? In Episode 117 of The Hall Hotline, Jon explores a small but powerful detail from the Last Supper that many people overlook. As Jesus revealed that one of His disciples would betray Him, the other disciples asked, "Surely not I, Lord?" But Judas responded differently. He called Jesus "Rabbi"—meaning teacher. Was that just a coincidence... or does it reveal something much deeper? This episode examines the difference between admiring Jesus as a teacher and surrendering to Him as Lord. It's a sobering reminder that being around Jesus isn't the same as belonging to Jesus, and that true faith isn't measured by what we say with our lips, but by how we live our lives. In this episode: The overlooked difference between "Rabbi" and "Lord"What Judas' words can teach us about genuine faithWhy knowledge of Jesus isn't the same as surrender to JesusThe difference between admiration and obedienceHow to examine whether Jesus is truly Lord of your lifeScripture: Matthew 26:22-25Romans 10:9Luke 6:46Today's Challenge: Spend a few quiet minutes with God and ask Him one simple question: "Lord, is there any area of my life that I haven't fully surrendered to You?" Then listen. If He reveals something, don't ignore it. Surrender it. Remember, your lips can call Him Lord... but your life will reveal whether He truly is. 📧 Email: thehallhotline@gmail.com 🌐 Website: thehallhotline.com 📺 YouTube: @JonHallRealtor #TheHallHotline #JesusIsLord #Judas #ChristianPodcast #Faith #BibleStudy #Discipleship #Surrender #Obedience #Matthew26 #Romans10 #Luke6 #ChristianLiving #Gospel #FollowJesus #StandFirm #WalkByFaith #Scripture #LiveWithPurpose #KingdomMindset

Daily Devotional: The Gospel Hidden in He-Man

What can He-Man possibly have to do with the gospel? More than you might think. In Episode 116 of The Hall Hotline, Jon shares the nostalgia of taking his family to see the new He-Man movie, bringing along one of his original 1980s action figures, and reflecting on the stories that shaped his childhood. But beyond the action and adventure, he discovers something deeper. Great stories endure because they echo the greatest story ever told. From Prince Adam discovering who he truly is, to the battle between good and evil, to a kingdom in need of saving, many of the themes that captivate us have their roots in Scripture. While He-Man isn't a retelling of the Bible, it reflects timeless truths about identity, purpose, redemption, and the true King. Most importantly, this episode reminds us that our identity isn't something we create—it's something we receive through Jesus Christ. In this episode: Why great stories resonate with our heartsThe biblical themes reflected in the new He-Man moviePrince Adam, identity, and the search for purposeWhy the world says "find yourself," but the gospel says "find Christ"What it means to live as a child of the KingHow Jesus conquered through sacrifice, not intimidationScripture: Genesis 1:26-27Luke 19:10Romans 8:15-17Today's Challenge: Take five minutes to read Romans 8:14-17. As you read, replace the word "children" with your own name. Then ask yourself: Am I living like someone who belongs to the King, or am I still letting the world tell me who I am? When you truly know whose you are, you'll begin to understand who you are. 📧 Email: thehallhotline@gmail.com 🌐 Website: thehallhotline.com 📺 YouTube: @JonHallRealtor #TheHallHotline #HeMan #MastersOfTheUniverse #IdentityInChrist #ChristianPodcast #Faith #Jesus #BibleStudy #Gospel #Redemption #ChildOfGod #Purpose #Romans8 #KingdomMindset #WalkByFaith #ChristianLiving #HopeInChrist #Scripture #StandFirm #LiveWithPurpose

Daily Devotional: A New School Year... A New Identity In Christ

A new school year brings new classes, new teachers, new friends, and a fresh start. But what if the greatest fresh start isn't found in a classroom? In Episode 115 of The Hall Hotline, Jon reflects on his daughter Addy beginning her freshman year of high school and uses the excitement of back-to-school season to explore one of the most important questions we'll ever answer: Who am I? The world constantly tries to define us by our accomplishments, failures, appearance, popularity, or career. But Scripture tells us that our true identity isn't something we earn—it's something we receive through Jesus Christ. If you belong to Him, you are a new creation. Join us as we discover how every new season is an opportunity to stop chasing the world's labels and start living from the identity God has already given us. In this episode: Why the first day of school feels like a fresh startThe difference between a new beginning and a new identityWhy we spend our lives trying to reinvent ourselvesThe labels we wear versus the identity Christ gives usHow to stop living for approval and start living from God's truthScripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17Galatians 2:20Colossians 3:9-10Today's Challenge: Don't let the world decide who you are. Walk into this week remembering that if you belong to Christ, you are forgiven, redeemed, chosen, loved, and a child of God. Live from that identity—not for it. 📧 Email: thehallhotline@gmail.com 🌐 Website: thehallhotline.com 📺 YouTube: @JonHallRealtor #TheHallHotline #IdentityInChrist #BackToSchool #FreshStart #ChristianPodcast #Faith #Jesus #BibleStudy #NewCreation #ChildOfGod #ChristianLiving #Gospel #WalkByFaith #DailyDevotional #StandFirm #LiveWithPurpose #HopeInChrist #Scripture #FaithOverFear #KingdomMindset
