    Daily Devotional: Think You Have Nothing To Offer God?

    Can someone really live their entire life apart from God, turn to Jesus at the very end, and still be saved? In Episode 144 of The Hall Hotline, Jon tackles the idea of the “11th-hour salvation loophole” by looking at one of the clearest examples of grace in the Bible: the criminal on the cross beside Jesus. While one criminal mocked Jesus, the other recognized his own guilt, recognized who Jesus was, and simply said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” — Luke 23:43 This man had no time to clean up his life. He couldn’t get baptized, go to church, start doing good works, repair his past, or spend years proving he had changed. All he had was faith. That’s the incredible message of grace: salvation isn’t about building a good enough résumé. It’s about putting your faith in Jesus Christ. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… not by works, so that no one can boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9 And remember this simple acronym: GRACE — God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. TODAY’S CHALLENGE: What are you still trying to fix before you bring it to Jesus? Stop trying to make yourself worthy of Him. Bring Him the sin, the failure, the shame, and the thing you think disqualifies you—and trust in His grace. The criminal didn’t get into paradise because he finally became good enough.     Daily Devotional: When You’re Just Not Feeling It

    Some days, you just aren’t feeling it. You’re tired. Unmotivated. Discouraged. Maybe overwhelmed. And sometimes that can make us wonder if something is wrong with us spiritually. But then there’s Elijah. In 1 Kings 18, Elijah stands on Mount Carmel and witnesses one of the most incredible displays of God’s power in the Bible. Fire falls from heaven. The people proclaim that the Lord is God. After years of drought, the rain returns. Then, just one chapter later, Elijah is exhausted, afraid, sitting under a tree and telling God, “I have had enough.” Yesterday’s victory does not prevent you from being exhausted today. And look at how God responded. He didn’t condemn Elijah. He allowed him to sleep. He provided food and water. He gave him rest before sending him forward again. Sometimes you don’t need to quit. You just need to rest.     Daily Devotional: An Epic Time At Epic Universe All Started With An Epic Prayer

    What if prayer doesn’t change what happens around you—but changes what happens inside you? This past weekend, we took the kids to Epic Universe to celebrate Tyler’s 8th birthday. Before we even got there, Addy asked if she could pray for our day. She prayed that we’d have a great time, that nothing would get us upset, and that we’d simply enjoy being together. And then came 200+ minute lines, Florida rain, plans that went off track, and a ride on Stardust Racers that left me sick as a dog. 😂 But none of it ruined our day. In Episode 140 of The Hall Hotline, we look at James 5:16 and Philippians 4:6–7 and talk about the power of praying BEFORE something goes wrong. God may not always remove the long line, stop the rain, or immediately change the situation—but He can give us peace and change the way we respond to it.     Daily Devotional: Your Gift Was Never Meant for You

    What if the gift God gave you was never really meant for you? Maybe you’re an encourager. Maybe you’re a leader. Maybe you’re good with kids, good with money, a great listener, a storyteller, or simply someone people know they can trust. Maybe your greatest “gift” actually came from something difficult you survived. 1 Peter 4:10 tells us, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” God gave it. We manage it. In today’s episode, we talk about recognizing the gifts God has already placed in us, what it means to be a faithful steward of those gifts, and why you don’t need a huge platform or thousands of followers to make an impact. Maybe God isn’t asking you to reach thousands of people. Maybe He’s asking you to reach one. Your spouse. Your child. A friend. A coworker. A neighbor. Maybe even a stranger God puts in your path today.     Daily Devotional: Is It Possible To Out-Sin God’s Grace?

    Is it possible to sin so badly that you’ve gone beyond God’s grace and forgiveness? Maybe you’ve confessed something from your past. Maybe you believe Jesus died for your sins. But years later, you’re still carrying the guilt, shame, regret, and condemnation. If God has already forgiven you, why are you still punishing yourself? In today’s Daily Devotional, we look at what the Bible says about forgiveness, repentance, conviction vs. condemnation, and what Jesus meant when He said, “It is finished.” Using the picture of a debt that has already been PAID IN FULL, we’ll talk about why so many of us continue trying to make payments on a spiritual debt Jesus already paid—with guilt, shame, regret, and self-punishment. We’ll look at 1 John 1:8–10, the story of David and Bathsheba, David’s repentance in Psalm 51, and the difference between facing the consequences of our actions and living under condemnation. And I’ll give you a simple challenge: write down the sins, regrets, mistakes, and shame you’re still carrying. Bring them honestly before God. Then write across the entire page: IT IS FINISHED. Your past can teach you. You may need to repent. You may need to make something right. But you don’t have to keep carrying a debt Jesus already paid. “I remember what I did. But I also remember what Jesus did.” And what Jesus did is greater.     Daily Devotional: Why I Believe in God: I Saw an Angel Save My Son’s Life

    Today is my son Tyler’s 8th birthday, and I’m sharing a story I’ve only told a handful of people in my entire life. Eight years ago, I stood in a delivery room and watched my son enter this world gray, limp, and lifeless. The umbilical cord had been wrapped around his neck twice. I felt completely helpless. Then a woman I had never seen before walked into the room. I watched her take my son into her hands. I watched color spread through his little body from where she touched him. I watched him take a breath. I heard him cry. And then she was gone. When I later tried to find her to thank her, no one knew who I was talking about. I believe with everything in me that I saw an angel that day. This is the story of Tyler’s birth, the miracle I believe I witnessed, and why I can say with certainty what Psalm 118:17 says: “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.” Happy 8th birthday, Tyler.
