The only thing I would warn about is about a natural disaster and the aftermath of one. It is not graphic in this story. As military forces are overpowered by the horde of undead, civilization as we know it is pushed to the breaking point. Those who remain uninfected rush the ports, hoping to escape the bloodthirsty beasts, desperate for some safe harbor. Fleeing Barcelona, a lone survivor makes the perilous journey to Mallorca. Once a vacationer’s paradise, the island is now the last refuge of a small but resilient community, and they welcome the newcomer with open arms. But the pristine, secluded landscape belies the dangers they face—from both the infected and one another. This is a zombie apocalypse and a thriller. I would safely put this at a 3.5, almost 4 sledgehammers for violence and dealing with a pandemic.  Language is relatively clean. There is some strong language.  Some violence: I give it 2.5 sledgehammers out of 5. Mentions of child abuse. It's not graphic, but if you're sensitive to that, you've been warned. I would give it half a sledgehammer. Tucked in the arm-pit of the Adrienic where anti-human sentiments were practically legendary in their cruelty, the High Council's announcement couldn't have come at a worse time. The Marked had awakened, the champion of the Human race was out there somewhere just waiting to fulfill the prophecy and claim their throne and here I am, a Clanless Human sporting a funky birthmark on my forearm and a bad attitude. I never would have guessed what it could mean. But it's hard to argue with the King of the Isles, especially when he shows off his own birthmark, the mirror image of my own. Now he's talking about mates and coups, and I've got a strange new magic that I have to figure out how to control before the High Council and their loyalists show up to wipe us off the map. Lucky? Hell, I'm just hoping I don't blow myself up before I can figure out how to save my family. Language: Potty mouths 3.5 trashcans out of 5 Violence: 3 sledgehammers out of 5 Spiciness: 2 chili peppers. There's some sexual tension and sexual harrassment in this story. If you're sensitive to that, this isn't the book for you.
