Your Reinvention Era

Katie Lee

Your Reinvention Era is for the woman everyone leans on — who somewhere along the way stopped leaning on herself. You're the strong one. You handle it, hold it together, figure it out. But the inner critic got loud, your own judgment started needing outside approval, and the version of you that's next got put on hold. Hosted by Katie Lee, Reinvention Strategist, this show gives you the tools to quiet the "Stinking Thinking," rebuild trust in your own judgment, set boundaries without guilt, and choose who you become next — deliberately, not by default. New episodes every Sunday.. Reinvention isn't something that happens to you. It's something you choose.

EP 36: Shift Your Self-Concept Now

What is the relationship you have with yourself? Not the answer you know intellectually—the relationship revealed by what you believe, tolerate, avoid, attempt, receive, and repeatedly choose. How do you speak to yourself when you make a mistake? Do you trust your decisions, or reopen the case when someone disagrees? Does a promise to yourself carry the same weight as a promise you make to everyone else? Underneath that relationship is your self-concept: the collection of beliefs you hold about your identity, abilities, character, and worth. It is your ongoing answer to the question, “Who am I?” You can change your goals, habits, relationships, business, or environment. But if your definition of yourself remains unchanged, you will continue being pulled toward choices that confirm the old identity. You cannot reinvent your life while remaining loyal to an outdated definition of yourself. In this episode of Your Reinvention Era, Katie breaks down the three components of self-concept—self-image, self-esteem, and the ideal self—and reveals how each one shapes the life you believe you are capable of creating. You’ll also learn five practical ways to shift your identity, rebuild self-trust, and begin living in greater alignment with the woman you are becoming. Because transformation is not evidence that something is wrong with you. Transformation is who you were created for. INSIDE THIS EPISODE: How the relationship you have with yourself shapes your reinvention What self-concept is and why it influences your behavior The difference between self-image, self-esteem, and the ideal self How an experience becomes a conclusion—and eventually an identity Why self-schemas affect what you notice and remember How high-achieving women can appear confident while struggling with fragile self-worth The hidden cost of performance-based worth Why becoming a beginner can feel threatening after years of success How to close the gap between your current identity and your future self Why your identity operates like a thermostat How an outdated self-concept creates self-sabotage Why even successful identities may need to be released Five practical ways to change your self-concept How small moments of congruence create believable identity change The evidence practice that helps your brain recognize your new story THE THREE COMPONENTS OF SELF-CONCEPT 1. Self-image: How do you see yourself? Your self-image includes the beliefs you hold about your abilities, weaknesses, personality, and roles. It sounds like: “I’m the strong one.” “I’m not consistent.” “I’m the one everyone depends on.” “I never finish what I start.” These statements may feel like facts, but they are often conclusions you formed from past experiences. An experience happened. Your brain created meaning. That meaning became an identity—and the identity began influencing what you noticed, expected, and chose. 2. Self-esteem: How do you value yourself? Self-esteem is the degree to which you value, accept, and respect yourself. It is revealed less by how confidently you enter a room and more by what happens internally when you are not performing well. Can you remain on your own side when someone is disappointed in you? Can you correct yourself without humiliating yourself? Can you believe you are worthy before the result arrives? Many successful women trust themselves to lead, produce, solve, and support—but struggle to value themselves apart from what they contribute. Healthy self-esteem says: “My performance can be evaluated without putting my worth on trial.” “I can be inexperienced without being inadequate.” “I can want more without making my current life wrong.” 3. The ideal self: Who are you becoming? Your ideal self is not a flawless fantasy or another impossible standard to hold against yourself. She is the expression of your values, desires, faith, and authenticity. How does she lead, love, rest, receive, and care for her body? What is her relationship with money, ambition, boundaries, and self-trust? What does she no longer chase, tolerate, manage, or explain? The goal is not to shame your current self until she becomes the ideal one. The goal is to build a bridge through belief and behavior. FIVE PRACTICAL WAYS TO SHIFT YOUR SELF-CONCEPT 1. Audit your identity language Listen for statements that begin with: “I always…” “I never…” “I’m not…” “This is just who I am…” Write them down without immediately trying to correct them. These sentences reveal the identity currently leading your life. 2. Separate the event from the conclusion “I did not complete three plans” is an event. “I never follow through” is a conclusion. A more accurate belief might be: “I have a powerful history of following through for other people. I am learning to give my own commitments the same authority and respect.” 3. Define who leads next Choose three identity statements that establish your new standards. For example: “I respond instead of react.” “My private promises matter.” “I can be loving and still have boundaries.” “I return quickly instead of starting over dramatically.” Then ask: What does she do? What does she stop doing? What does she believe when the old pattern appears? 4. Practice the new identity through small decisions Do not wait for your new identity to feel natural. Make one clean decision without asking everyone else to validate it. Decline one request without a five-minute defense. Receive a compliment or someone’s help without immediately trying to repay it. The goal is not a dramatic performance. It is teaching yourself that this new way of being is safe enough to repeat. 5. Collect evidence of your new story At the end of each day, complete this sentence: “Today, I became more congruent with the woman I am becoming when I…” Name the evidence: One decision. One boundary. One kept promise. One honest conversation. One moment of receiving. One return after an interruption. Your future identity becomes believable through repeated moments of congruence. SCRIPTURE REFERENCED 2 Corinthians 3:18: We are transformed into His image “from glory to glory.” John 15:1–2: God prunes even the branches that are already bearing fruit so they can become more fruitful. You were not created to remain stagnant. You were created to grow into greater alignment with who God designed you to be. The mirror of self-reflection is the gateway to that growth—not because you stare at yourself in judgment, but because you become willing to see what is true, what is no longer true, and who God may be inviting you to become. TAKE THE NEXT STEP: THE FOLLOW THROUGH FORMULA A new self-concept is not built through another declaration about who you are going to become someday. It is built through evidence. Every decision you honor, boundary you keep, and promise you follow through on teaches you that you can trust yourself. The Follow Through Formula is a six-week experience designed to help successful women rebuild self-trust, follow through with themselves, and create change that holds when motivation fades and real life happens. You will move through the work in the order that actually holds: Reset your body Renew your mindset Revamp your emotional capacity Reclaim your identity Reinvent your vision Rely on the plan Explore The Follow Through Formula CONNECT WITH KATIE Visit Katie’s website Follow Katie on Instagram Subscribe on YouTube If this episode gave language to the identity shift you are experiencing, share it with a woman who is ready for her next chapter but may still be living from an outdated definition of herself. The woman you are becoming does not need perfection today. She needs small evidence of who she is becoming next. You’ve got this, my friend. Your reinvention is as good as done. MEMORABLE QUOTES “The mirror of self-reflection is the gateway to growth.” “You cannot change a relationship that you refuse to examine.” “You cannot reinvent your life while remaining loyal to an outdated definition of yourself.” “An experience happened, and your mind created meaning. Then the meaning became an identity.” “My performance can be evaluated without putting my worth on trial.” “I can be inexperienced without being inadequate.” “Your future identity becomes believable through repeated moments of congruence.” “Your reinvention does not require contempt for who you have been.” “Stop asking an old identity to lead a new season.” “The woman you are becoming does not need perfection today. She just needs small evidence of who she’s becoming next.”

EP 35: Stop Overfunctioning And Return To Your Feminine Strength

What if your next reinvention does not require you to become stronger—but to express your strength differently? Many successful women have spent years being the capable one: leading, solving, organizing, anticipating, fixing and carrying what no one else would. That strength helped you build a life. But when capability becomes constant control, overfunctioning and an inability to receive, it can leave you exhausted, resentful and disconnected from yourself. In this episode of Your Reinvention Era, Katie Lee begins a deeply personal conversation about returning to feminine strength after years of hyper-independence and overfunctioning. This is not about becoming passive, making yourself smaller or performing a softer version of yourself so someone will choose you. Feminine strength is grounded power: self-respect, presence, receptivity, discernment, emotional regulation and the ability to trust without forcing an outcome. Through the metaphor of the water lily, nervous-system science and the biblical examples of Ruth, Esther and the Proverbs 31 woman, Katie reveals why your next chapter may not require more effort. It may require releasing what was never yours to carry and learning to receive what you no longer need to chase. You’ll discover: • The difference between feminine strength and weakness or passivity• How capability can quietly become protection and control• Signs you may be operating in a wounded masculine or protective mode• Why high-achieving women often struggle to ask for help or receive support• How anxiety can disguise itself as proactivity in relationships• Why uncertainty activates the urge to fix, pursue, explain or force clarity• What Ruth teaches us about faithful action and receiving• What Esther teaches us about timing, restraint and discernment• How Proverbs 31:25 connects strength with dignity and self-respect• Why resentment can reveal where you are overgiving or under-communicating• How to create nervous-system evidence that you are safe without managing everything• Nine practical ways to slow down, receive, communicate clearly and return to yourself Katie also shares five mindset shifts to begin embodying feminine strength: I am not responsible for everything and everyone. Receiving is not weakness. I can tolerate uncertainty without forcing a resolution. Someone else’s behavior is information. My worth is inherent, not transactional. You do not have to abandon your ambition, intelligence, leadership or independence to become more feminine. You can be strategic and present. Ambitious and receptive. Strong and tender. Clear and warm. Disciplined and open to pleasure. You can lead when it is yours to lead—and receive when life, love and God are offering something to you. You have nothing to prove. 💬 JOIN THE CONVERSATION Where are you carrying something that does not belong to you? Where are you controlling because uncertainty feels uncomfortable? And where is life trying to give you something that you keep refusing to receive? Share your biggest realization in the comments, and send this episode to a woman who is ready to stop carrying everything alone. 👊🏼 THE FOLLOW THROUGH FORMULA—NOW ENROLLING You follow through for everyone else. EP 34: How To Let Go Of The Past And Move Forward

You want a new chapter—but are you still using your past as evidence for what is possible now? The relationship that ended. The business that didn’t work. The weight you gained back. The promise you broke. The opportunity you missed. The version of yourself you still judge. Your past may be behind you chronologically, but it can remain directly in front of you emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. In this episode, we’re exploring the powerful instruction and promise found in Isaiah 43:18–19: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” God doesn’t say He will eventually do something new. He says it is happening now—and then asks whether you can perceive it. You may not be waiting for your new life to begin. You may already be standing in the middle of it but unable to see it because your attention is still fixed on what happened before. This conversation will help you understand the difference between remembering your past and continuing to live from it. You’ll learn how past-based thinking affects what you notice, believe, feel, and do—and how to turn your attention toward the new thing that may already be springing up in your life. Because the rearview mirror of your life was designed for reference. It was never designed to become your permanent residence. INSIDE THIS EPISODE: How to let go of the past without denying or minimizing what happened The deeper meaning of Isaiah 43:18–19 Why dwelling on the past can prevent you from perceiving what is happening now The difference between remembering your history and making it your identity How past-based thinking influences your present decisions Why your brain looks for evidence that confirms the story you already believe How your attention affects what you notice and believe is possible The rearview-mirror metaphor for moving forward Why new beginnings often appear as small, easily dismissed changes Three questions to help you recognize what is new now How to take one faith-filled step toward your next chapter Press play if you are ready to stop asking yesterday for permission to live today. You do not have to become indifferent to your past to move forward. You simply have to stop giving what happened more authority than what God may be doing now. Scripture referenced: Isaiah 43:18–19 THREE QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF: What am I continually staring at in my past—and what am I making it mean about me? What is true now that was not true then? What new thing might already be springing up in my life? Then take one step toward it. Send the email. Make the appointment. Have the conversation. Take the walk. Apply for the job. Say no. Say yes. Take the step that belongs to the woman who believes something new is possible. NOW ENROLLING: THE FOLLOW THROUGH FORMULA! You already know how to follow through when someone else is counting on you. But when it comes to your body, healing, business, home, dreams, boundaries, or future, you keep finding yourself back at the beginning. You do not need more motivation, more discipline, or another perfect plan. You need a process that helps you rebuild self-trust and continue when the plan meets real life. The Follow Through Formula is now enrolling. This is six weeks of doing the work in the order that actually holds: Reset your body Renew your mindset Revamp your emotional capacity Reclaim your identity Reinvent your vision Rely on the plan Each Monday, you’ll receive a new course module and guided meditation, along with live coaching with me inside a private Zoom room. EP 33: The Five Enemies Of Follow Through (The Reasons You Keep Starting Over)

You can meet the deadline, solve the problem, advocate for someone you love, and hold everything together when other people are counting on you. So why is it so much harder to follow through when the promise is only for you? Your body. Your business. Your healing. Your home. Your boundaries. The conversation you need to have. The dream you keep putting off. This isn’t proof that you need more discipline, motivation, or another planner. It points to a deeper pattern—and once you can see that pattern, you can begin to change it. In this episode, I’m walking you through the five enemies of follow-through: the warning lights that reveal what is actually happening beneath your starting-over cycle. You’ll discover why one missed day can become a verdict about who you are, how perfectionism disguises itself as preparation, what you may be avoiding when you buffer, why making decisions ahead of time protects your commitments, and how to rebuild the self-trust that has been quietly eroded by broken promises. Because following through with yourself isn’t just a productivity skill. It is self-advocacy. INSIDE THIS EPISODE: Why you can follow through for everyone else—but struggle when it’s for you How all-or-nothing thinking turns one interruption into an identity Why perfectionism keeps you waiting to feel ready How buffering helps you avoid uncomfortable emotions without resolving them Why repeatedly reopening a decision makes follow-through harder The role self-trust plays in your starting-over pattern How small, consistently kept promises begin changing your identity Why transformation begins with renewing your mind How to return to your goal without condemning yourself Press play if you are tired of interpreting every interruption as evidence that you cannot trust yourself. You do not need to follow through perfectly. You need to become a woman who knows how to return. EP 32: Nothing Shifts Your Energy Faster Than These 7 Minutes

Some days, you do not need another strategy, another plan, or another person telling you what to do. You need to hear the right sentences long enough to remember who you are. If you are the woman everyone leans on, your energy rarely disappears. It gets dispersed — into the people you are trying to help, the outcomes you are trying to control, the conversations you keep replaying, and the timeline you think you should be further along in. These seven minutes are where you call it back. This is not a meditation that asks you to get quiet, close your eyes, or step away from your life. It is designed to wake you up inside your life. Press play while you are driving, walking, getting ready, or preparing to do something that requires the most powerful version of you. The episode begins immediately with the words you may need most: I am not behind. I am not starting over. I am starting from experience. From there, let the words become yours. In these seven minutes, you will: Release the belief that you should be further along Remember the strength, wisdom, and discernment you have earned through everything you have lived Separate old fear from the facts of who you are today Reconnect with the power, love, and sound mind God has already given you Call your energy back from overthinking, control, replayed conversations, and other people’s expectations Trust your own judgment without needing a committee to approve your life Remember that your desires are not selfish — they are information about what is calling you forward Reclaim focused, powerful energy for your own life Strengthen the identity of the woman who keeps going, adjusts, learns, rises, and follows through with herself Return to the truth that you are not too late and nothing has been wasted Your one move this week: Save this episode. Come back to it in the morning, before an important decision, ahead of a difficult conversation, or on the day you feel yourself going flat. Do not wait until you feel energized to press play. Press play — and let the words help you access the energy that was already yours. This seven-minute practice can shift your internal state. But if you keep lifting yourself up and landing back in the same place a few days later, there may be one sentence running underneath the entire cycle: Here I go again. That is the loop behind starting, stalling, judging yourself, and starting over. My free masterclass, Stop Starting Over For Good, will show you how to identify the belief driving that loop and begin building the self-trust to follow through with yourself again. EP 31: Why The Same Problem Keeps Coming Back (It's One Sentence)

Somewhere along the way, most of us quietly reorganized our whole lives around one goal: don't have problems. And it's exhausting — because problems are the one thing you will never run out of. Solve this one and there's another one behind it. You could get every single thing you say you want and you'd simply graduate to a better class of problem.   So what if a problem-free life was never the goal? What if you actually want problems, because a problem is the only place the next version of you ever shows up?   Here's the part that changes everything: the problem that keeps visiting you — the same one, over and over — isn't coming back because you're lazy or broken or behind. It keeps coming back because you keep saying the same sentence about it.   You don't have a debt problem. You don't have a follow-through problem. You don't have a "single again" problem. You have a sentence you keep repeating about each one. And a sentence, my friend, can be rewritten.   This isn't a "think positive" episode. There's real research underneath it — and by the end you'll have one repeated sentence captured, one new one decided, one guest chosen, and one small move to make in the next twenty-four hours. In this episode, you'll learn: Why your first instinct to avoid, delay, or spiral isn't a character flaw — it's factory settings, and the saber-toothed tiger standing in a field of a hundred watermelons explains exactly why The line that reframes your whole operating system: your brain isn't built to make you happy, it's built to keep you alive — two completely different jobs Why this is not toxic positivity, and the research that proves it: challenge states versus threat states, and why the same racing heart produces two completely opposite results The scale your brain is quietly running — what this demands of me on one side, what I've got on the other — and the one thing that tips it Why you're not being asked to calm down or think happy thoughts harder — you're being asked to read your own signal accurately Three real problems (follow-through, being single again, debt) run through the thought model in real time, where the circumstance never moves an inch and only the sentence changes Why your sentence keeps manufacturing its own evidence — and how one small rep starts building the opposite file The Problem Party: every problem throws one, your name is already on the invitation, and the only question that matters is who you bring Why fear, shame, and avoidance are a terrible guest list — and why your guest list is the neuroscience, not a cute metaphor What James has been saying about all of this for two thousand years, and the definition of steadfastness that reframes the woman you're becoming The one foundational sentence underneath almost every problem a woman over 40 is carrying   Your one move this week: Name the one problem that keeps coming back — the repeat offender. Write the exact sentence you keep thinking about it. Not the polished version. The real one, in your actual voice at eleven at night. Then ask: is that a threat sentence (this is bigger than me) or a challenge sentence (this is mine to solve)? Decide one new sentence. Name one guest you're bringing to the party — creativity, strategy, faith, possibility, pick one. Then do one small thing from that new sentence in the next 24 hours. Open the app. Send the text. Ten minutes of journaling. One sentence. One guest. One move.   And here's the thing about the loop: you can throw a party for every surface problem in your life and still feel like you're running in place — because underneath all of them, most women are carrying one foundational sentence. Here I go again. Starting over. As long as that one is running, your problems keep regenerating, because the belief producing them was never touched. That's exactly what my free masterclass, Stop Starting Over For Good, is built for: the belief driving the loop, not the surface problem. Register here: https://www.thekatielee.com/stop-starting-over-for-good-masterclass   You are not starting over, my friend. Your brain was doing its job — it was just doing the wrong job for the actual situation." "I'm not asking you to be delusional. I'm asking you to be accurate." "This is not about calming down. It's about interpreting your own signal correctly instead of misfiling it as danger." "A problem is just a threat sentence. Change it to a challenge sentence and your brain changes its state — not metaphorically, actually." "Your sentence made the evidence for itself." "Restarting is data, not failure." "I'm not starting over. I'm starting from experience." "Same debt, same dollar amount. Different state, and a completely different next 90 days." "The party is happening whether you like it or not. The kind of woman you don't become in easy seasons." "Your problems are not proof that something's wrong with you or your life. They're the place where you become the woman you're reinventing."

EP 30: Focus On What You Want (Not On What You Don't)

Race car drivers have a name for the thing that puts them into the wall: target fixation. The car goes where the eyes go. Stare at the thing you're trying to avoid, and you steer straight into it — not because you wanted to, but because your focus was already there.   That's not a driving problem. That's a thought problem. And it's the reason a capable, competent woman can swear she's done with something — a season, a situation, a pattern — and still find herself standing right next to it again, wondering what's wrong with her.   Nothing is wrong with you, my friend. You crash where you consistently look.   If you've been stuck in a negative thought loop — replaying what went wrong, bracing for what might, narrating everything you don't want in a running list you can't seem to shut off — this episode is for you. It's not a "think positive" episode. It's the mechanism underneath the loop: why focusing on what you don't want reliably produces more of it, and what to do instead this week.   And I'll be honest with you: this one is as much for me as it is for you. I've been in that loop myself, and I didn't see it until my coach put it in front of me. So we're doing this work together.   By the end, you'll know exactly where your focus has been pointed — and how one sentence, said in about sixty seconds, starts turning the wheel.   In this episode, you'll learn:   Why "don't look at the wall" isn't a metaphor — researchers have tracked drivers' eyes against the steering wheel, and the eyes go first, the hands follow. Your body goes where your attention goes, and you don't feel yourself doing it. Why trying not to do something is often what makes you do it — and what that means for every sentence in your head that starts with "I don't want to be…" Why you always find what you're looking for: your brain doesn't show you everything, it shows you what you told it to care about — and it never checks whether that thing is something you want or something you're afraid of Why the evidence feels so convincing — you're not making it up, and that's exactly what makes the loop so hard to break The five things that are completely within your control: your attitude, knowing specifically what you want, believing it before you have it, the discipline to come back when you drift, and being her now Why "I just want to be happy" isn't something you can aim at — and what specific actually sounds like What "we walk by faith, not by sight" tells you about the order this happens in: you commit first, then you see it — never the other way around The walk Katie took that changed her entire state while her circumstances changed nothing at all   Your one move this week: Sometime this week you said it — out loud or in your head — I don't want ______. You know the one. Flip it. Not into a wish. Into a decision: I've decided ______. Sixty seconds, in the car or on a walk. That's not just a sentence, my friend. It's a declaration. Every belief that has ever actually moved something in your life started exactly there.   Now, I'm not going to pretend one sentence fixes everything. You'll make the decision, it'll feel good, you'll hold it — and then you'll be right back looking at the same wall, because there's an operating system running underneath. EP 29: How To Finally Quiet Your Inner Critic

You're the one people count on. You figure it out — that's not a story you tell yourself, that's a track record.   So why is there still a voice in the room with you? Quiet most days, but there. Narrating. That wasn't good enough. You should've caught that sooner. Who do you think you are? And here's the part that doesn't make sense: she shows up when you win, not just when you lose. Someone tells you that you did a great job, and before the thank you even leaves your mouth, you're already running the list of everything they didn't see.   If you're the one everyone leans on — the one who gets it right again and again and still hears about what she missed — this episode was made for you.   Because here's what I most want you to hear, my friend: that voice is not the truth. She's a habit. And in this episode I'm taking her apart — where she actually lives in your brain, why she's so loud, and the counterintuitive move that finally quiets her (hint: it's not fighting harder).   By the end, you'll know why that voice feels like truth — and how to take back the mic, one new belief at a time.   In this episode, you'll learn: Why self-criticism isn't drama or weakness — it's a specific error-monitoring system in your brain (researchers have watched it switch on), and why the same wiring that makes you excellent turns on you in the quiet Why she never clocks out: an error monitor is built to fire, flag, and reset — yours just keeps scanning, which is why you can't think your way out of the loop Why she's loud — not because she's right, because she's practiced: the neuroscience of the well-worn path, and how repetition physically strengthens the thought until it feels like a fact The courtesy you extend to everyone but yourself — and the voice you'd never use on a friend that you leave running in your own head How what you believe decides what you notice: the "biased competition" mechanism, and how you've been collecting evidence against yourself all day and handing it to her like a report The roommate metaphor: why she moved in, why fighting her only makes her louder ("resistance is rehearsal"), and how to stop handing her the mic without evicting her What Paul — a man with a real past — models in Philippians 3:13 about refusing to let what's behind you narrate what's ahead The past / present / future reframe: swapping your critic's sentences for new beliefs you can actually feel land as relief in your body   Your one move this week: Get radically honest about what your inner critic says about your past, your present, and your future. Then write one new belief for each — not inspirational, but true enough to feel like relief. She can comment all she wants. She doesn't get to decide what gets repeated. That's yours.   Ready to stop letting that voice run the show? My masterclass, Stop Starting Over For Good, walks you through this whole process step by step. About
