What Happens When You Decide to Start Over? Ethan Frontz

What happens when life takes something from you, knocks you off course, and forces you to decide who you are going to become next? For Ethan Frontz, losing his mom at 19 led to one of the darkest seasons of his life. But eventually, he reached a point where he knew he did not want to stay there forever. So he started rebuilding. In this episode of the Best of Wooster Podcast, Ethan shares how that season shaped him, what helped him begin moving forward, and how asking himself one simple question — “What is the coolest career I could possibly have?” — eventually led him toward gunsmithing. We talk about what gunsmithing actually involves, how much skill goes into the work behind the scenes, and why Ethan chose to learn through experience, trial, error, and constant education instead of following a traditional path. We also get into the mindset that has helped him continue growing: never believing you have arrived, always being willing to learn from people who know more than you, and taking pride in doing the work the right way. Ethan also shares his passion for teaching others, why he enjoys helping people better understand their equipment, his interest in becoming a leading voice around the AR-15 platform, and what a potential opportunity with Sons of Liberty Gun Works could mean for his future. But at the heart of this conversation is something much bigger than gunsmithing. It is about grief. It is about choosing not to let a hard chapter become your entire story. It is about finding purpose, building confidence through your craft, and becoming someone your younger self would be proud of. Sometimes starting over does not mean forgetting where you came from. Sometimes it means using everything you went through to build what comes next. #BestOfWooster #WoosterOhio #WayneCountyOhio #OhioPodcast #PodcastGuest #LocalStories #CommunityStories #Gunsmithing #Gunsmith #Craftsmanship #AlwaysLearning #PersonalGrowth #StartingOver #PurposeDriven #LifeAfterLoss #Resilience #CareerJourney #SkilledTrades #AR15 #NeverStopLearning #Scrimofitness

When Your Body Is Trying to Talk Amy Howman

If you have ever felt burned out, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, this conversation is for you. On this episode of the Best of Wooster Podcast, I sat down with Amy Howman to talk about healing, burnout, nervous system regulation, coaching, and vibrational therapy. Amy shared her own story of hitting a breaking point physically and emotionally, and how that season led her down a different path of healing. One thing that stood out to me was how Amy talks about symptoms as the body’s language. So many people are walking around tired, stressed, burned out, anxious, or feeling stuck, but they do not always know what their body is trying to tell them. Amy’s work is about helping people feel safe in their body, understand what is really going on underneath the surface, and begin moving toward healing in a gentle and practical way. We talked about burnout, body safety, frequency, sound and vibrational therapy, the vagus nerve, limiting beliefs, faith questions, and why nervous system balance is becoming such an important conversation right now. We also talked about her love for motorcycle adventures, her personal growth journey, and the people who helped support her along the way. This was a thoughtful conversation about healing, listening to your body, and what it means to feel grounded, calm, secure, and joyful again. Aging Well in Wayne County | Bonnie Hall from West View Healthy Living

On this episode of the Best of Wooster Podcast, I sat down with Bonnie Hall, President and CEO of West View Healthy Living. Bonnie has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for 30 years, and her heart for senior care started long before she became a leader in the field. She grew up watching both of her parents serve as administrators, started working in a facility at 15 years old, and quickly fell in love with caring for the geriatric population. We talked about what West View Healthy Living does for residents, families, and the larger Wayne County community, and how senior living has changed over the years. One thing that stood out to me was Bonnie’s heart for protecting the rights, dignity, and quality of life of the people she serves. This conversation is about leadership, caregiving, active aging, advocacy, nonprofit work, and what it means to help people age well with purpose. We also talked about West View’s growth, including their short-term skilled care, independent living apartments, Event Center, and Wellness Center. Bonnie’s story is a reminder that senior care is not just about buildings or services. It is about people. It is about families. It is about dignity. It is about helping others live well in every season of life. Listen to the full episode of the Best of Wooster Podcast. Joy as a Business Strategy: Laura Newberry Yokley from Sonrisa Brands

What if joy was not just a feeling… but a business strategy? On this episode of the Best of Wooster Podcast, I sat down with Laura Newberry-Yokley from Sonrisa Brands. Sonrisa means “smile” in Spanish, and Laura has built an entire ecosystem around joy, leadership, healing, writing, publishing, Reiki, and personal growth. We talked about how Sonrisa started as “Laura in company form,” how motherhood helped shape the beginning of her business, and how her background in religious studies and business eventually came together instead of staying separate. One of my favorite parts of the conversation was hearing Laura describe Sonrisa as her “leadership lab.” A place where gratitude, joy, healing, spirituality, and business are not treated like separate worlds. They are all connected. We also talked about conscious business, helping people share their stories, writing books, Reiki, community, and what it means to walk back home to yourself in your 40s. This episode is for anyone who has ever felt like they were “too many things” or wondered how all the different pieces of their life fit together. Laura’s story is a reminder that your gifts do not have to compete with each other. They can work together.
