    Michaela Garecht: Taken Pt. 2

For more than three decades, the disappearance of Michaela "Kayla" Garecht drew false confessions, dead-end digs, and a parade of suspects. A lying jailhouse tipster, a convicted child killer, the notorious "Speed Freak Killers" and a well full of bones. Before finally, a partial palm print was pulled from Kayla's scooter. Each lead raised her family's hopes; each one broke their hearts. Decades after a stranger drove her away, a charge would finally name a suspect, even as a mother refused to stop searching for the truth about what happened to her daughter. Michaela Garecht: Taken Pt. 1

On the Saturday before Thanksgiving in 1988, nine-year-old Michaela "Kayla" Garecht and her best friend rode their scooters two blocks to a Hayward, California corner store for candy and soda. Minutes later, in a busy parking lot in broad daylight, a stranger grabbed Kayla, forced her into a car, and drove off. What began as an ordinary morning became one of California's most haunting disappearances: an eyewitness account that should have cracked the case, a crucial early mistake that sent police chasing the wrong man, and a trail that went cold before it ever got warm. Misty Copsey: The Missed Bus Pt. 2

In the fall of 1992, 14-year-old Misty Copsey vanished after a night at the Puyallup Fair. For months the police wrote her off as a runaway until her clothes surfaced along Highway 410. Only then did the real investigation begin. Persons of interest drifted in and out of focus over the years, alongside polygraphs, false leads, and an amateur investigator whose obsession with the case may have done as much harm as good. Decades later, an unknown man's DNA is one of the only tangible traces left, yet no one has ever been charged in Misty's disappearance. On September 17, 1992, 14-year-old Misty Copsey went to the Puyallup Fair in Washington with her best friend and never came home. The two girls missed the 8:40 PM bus back to Spanaway and split up to find their own way. Joan Risch: Blood on the Kitchen Floor Pt. 2

In October 1961, 31-year-old Joan Risch vanished from her home in Lincoln, Massachusetts, leaving behind a blood-smeared kitchen and a telephone ripped from the wall. There was no body and no sign of forced entry, but there were fingerprints on the wall that seemingly weren't hers. Some witnesses reported a dazed, bleeding woman wandering a nearby highway that afternoon. Others pointed to the stack of library books Joan had checked out about staged disappearances. But more than sixty years later, her case still remains unsolved. If you’re new here, don’t forget to follow The Final Hours to never miss a case! On October 24, 1961, 31-year-old Joan Risch spent an ordinary morning at home in Lincoln, Massachusetts. She took her daughter to the dentist, booked a follow-up appointment, and later walked her to a neighbor's house, promising she'd be right back. She never returned. Su Taraskiewicz: The Last Shift at Logan Pt. 2

In September 1992, 27-year-old Su Taraskiewicz was found murdered in the trunk of her own car. Her journal pointed suspicion back toward the men she worked alongside, but the truth was tangled in something bigger: a federal probe into a stolen credit-card ring run out of Logan. Over the years, the FBI, a federal grand jury, and a $250,000 reward all circled the same small group of names. But without enough evidence to charge anyone, no one was ever convicted of Su's murder.
