The Final Hours with Sarah Turney and Kourtney Nichole

If you made a drinking game out of how many times Sarah 'right' or many times Kourtney says 'like' you'd be dead. Filler words can easily be edited out in post. (Right, like, um, ya know.) They are distracting when they are so prevalent. Sound design in their shows is top notch. Subtle and additive. Also, I really appreciate cases that are not well known. Would love to see more of that and less of the big name cases they choose to cover-- that saturate the genre already. Unless their whole gimmick is just ad sales and less about helping victims and their loved ones. They really aren't adding anything to progress the case or its coverage in a meaningful way. It's just rehashing what's already out there. These two ladies are talented researchers, respectful of the victims, they know how to converse with one another in a way that is natural and conversational, and thankfully they don't just read a script like it's a nutrition label or table of contents. )When other hosts read like that and it's monotone and you can tell the host don't have any familiarity with the case, they're just reading without knowing the material, it absolutely ruins the telling of the case so you can't ever really get into it. Even when these ladies are reading, it's at least with some talent and isn't dry.) I've listened to every episode and I'm still having a hard time seeing what new information or angle they add to widely known cases besides just their subjective perspectives which I haven't really heard be different from anyone else's. So I don't understand why they keep covering well-known cases when they have the resources and the talent to shed light on cases that have ample information yet little coverage. Feels like a money grab and not a sincere attempt to advocate. And it also feels completely disrespectful and inauthentic 'help' for these victims since they don't seem interested in correcting the vocal fry, filler words, add new angles, and only cover cases widely covered, etc.

I like the idea of the podcast and appreciate the stories they tell but as previous reviewers have mentioned, the listening experience becomes annoying because of filler words used by Sarah. You would think the feedback would have her work on her speech abilities but it never improves. Stop saying “right”? After every sentence!

I have the same feedback as others. Kourt is amazing! I have watched every single one of her Tik Toks. I had always hoped for her to create a Podcast. Sarah could be great; just stop with the monotone voice. It ruins every episode. Listening with earbuds makes it so much worse. I don’t mind the back and forth commentary, but please put emotion in your voice and stop dragging out the syllables of the last word of each sentence.

Sarah has one of the most soothing voices I’ve ever heard. (Like a warm hug) I love this podcast because they get straight to the point. Definitely binge-worthy. One of the best true crime podcasts out there.
