58 | Scared About Your Child’s Surgery or Procedure? 3 Ways to Calm Medical Anxiety and Trust God

Is your child facing an upcoming surgery or medical procedure, and your mind keeps jumping to everything that could go wrong? Do you know logically that your child is in capable hands, but still feel anxious about anesthesia, separation, or not being able to protect them? How do you truly trust God with your child when surrender feels so much harder than simply saying, “I trust You”? In today’s episode, we’re talking about medical anxiety in motherhood and what to do when your child has a surgery, procedure, test, or other medical situation that feels completely outside of your control.  I’m sharing my own experience when my oldest daughter underwent an elective surgery at just 17 months old, and we’re digging into Psalm 139 to discover a truth every anxious mama needs to remember: there may be places your child goes where you cannot follow, but there will never be a place your child goes where God cannot. In this episode, we talk about: ⭐️ Why your anxiety can get louder when your ability to protect your child gets smaller ⭐️ Why uncertainty, separation, and loss of control can activate your brain’s threat response ⭐️ What Psalm 139 teaches us about God’s presence with our children ⭐️ Why an anxious thought about danger is not the same as evidence that danger is happening ⭐️ How to trust God when your child goes somewhere you physically cannot follow ⭐️ Why surrendering to God doesn’t require you to feel completely calm first ⭐️ The three-step Know, There, Give Reset for surgery day, medical procedures, and waiting rooms Contact Rachel: Email: hello@faithoveranxietyformoms.com Listen on Apple Podcasts Become a Faith Over Anxiety Email Insider: SIGN UP HERE! 57 | Why Won’t God Take This Away? Trusting God Through Anxiety and Unanswered Prayers

Have you ever prayed, “God, why haven’t You taken this away yet?” Do you wonder why you’re still struggling with anxiety even though you’re praying, reading your Bible, and trying to trust God? What if the thing you wish God would remove doesn’t disqualify you—but becomes a place where His strength can be seen? In today’s episode, we’re talking about a powerful scene from The Chosen where Little James asks Jesus why He hasn’t healed him before sending him out to heal others. While that specific conversation isn’t recorded in Scripture, it points us toward a question we see throughout the Bible: What do we do when God doesn’t immediately remove the thing we’ve been praying about? We’ll look at Job 1, Paul’s thorn in the flesh in 2 Corinthians 12, and the man born blind in John 9 to discover what Scripture teaches us about suffering, unanswered prayers, weakness, and trusting God in the waiting. In this episode, we talk about: ⭐️ What Job 1 teaches us about trusting God when we don’t understand what He is doing ⭐️ Why an unanswered prayer doesn’t mean God isn’t listening ⭐️ Why anxiety and uncertainty can make waiting on God feel especially difficult ⭐️ How Paul’s thorn in the flesh shows us that weakness does not disqualify us from being used by God ⭐️ The difference between acceptance and resignation when circumstances haven’t changed ⭐️ A simple three-question exercise to help you recognize God’s grace while you continue praying and waiting Contact Rachel: Email: hello@faithoveranxietyformoms.com Listen on Apple Podcasts Become a Faith Over Anxiety Email Insider: SIGN UP HERE! 54 | Trying to Be the Proverbs 31 Woman? How to Stop Striving and Become Who God Made You to Be as a Christian Mom

Have you ever felt like being a “good Christian woman” means doing more, serving more, and somehow keeping it all together? Do you ever compare yourself to the Proverbs 31 woman or other women in the Bible and wonder why faithfulness feels so heavy? What if God is not asking you to copy another woman’s calling, but to walk with Him as the woman He created you to be? In today’s episode, we are talking about the pressure anxious Christian moms can feel to perform biblical womanhood. After stumbling across a Facebook post about a woman who tried so hard to be the Proverbs 31 woman that she ran herself into the ground, I started asking a deeper question: “Lord, who did You actually make me to be?” That question led me to create and take my own “Which Woman of the Bible Are You?” quiz. In this episode, I’m sharing what that revealed about my strengths, sensitivity, honest prayer, and the freedom that comes when we stop trying to force ourselves into someone else’s calling. In this episode, we talk about: ⭐️ Why Proverbs 31 was never meant to become a pressure-filled checklist for Christian moms ⭐️ How anxiety can twist biblical womanhood into striving, comparison, and guilt ⭐️ The question that can help you discern God’s voice from outside pressure ⭐️ Why your sensitivity, loyalty, service, courage, discernment, or leadership may be part of your God-given wiring ⭐️ How women like Hannah, Ruth, Mary, Martha, Esther, Deborah, Abigail, and Anna reflect different kinds of faithfulness ⭐️ Why God is not grading your motherhood based on another woman’s assignment ⭐️ Three real-life application steps to help you release pressure and walk in peace as the woman God made you to be Mother of the Bible quiz link: https://www.tryinteract.com/share/quiz/6a6c8d4a3aee7a01a7d2f47f Get the free full reflection guide based on your Mother of the Bible results here: https://faith-over-anxiety-for-moms.kit.com/ad3d1cd524 Contact Rachel: Email: hello@faithoveranxietyformoms.com Listen on Apple Podcasts Become a Faith Over Anxiety Email Insider: SIGN UP HERE!
