Interview #2 - Why did a French developer build a tech recruitment platform in Korea? |

** English ** Have you ever heard of the word "Entrepreneurship"? Back in my college days, when the IT startup boom was everywhere, this was one of the words I heard the most. I still remember looking it up because it was so hard to spell and pronounce! The word actually comes from the French verb "entreprendre", which means "to try," "to adventure," or "to undertake." In short, entrepreneurship is all about taking risks to create new value. Because of this, France has always felt like a symbol of that adventurous spirit to me. Today, I want to share the story of Florian, a French entrepreneur who brought that very spirit to Korea. Florian moved to Korea three years ago and started by hosting various tech meetups. Two years ago, he launched "Dev Korea," a tech recruitment platform. As of this January, over 3,000 tech experts have joined the platform. It's quickly becoming a key bridge between IT professionals and companies in Korea. Dev Korea helps solve the talent mismatch in the local market by connecting companies that need English-friendly software development with developers looking for international careers. It’s a platform open to any "English-speaking developer," regardless of their nationality, and it has already become the #1 platform in its niche. I was truly amazed by Florian’s ideas and his ability to make things happen in a foreign country. I was so curious about the journey that I sat down with him for an interview. Let’s dive into his story of entrepreneurship, his startup journey, and his insights on the Korean IT market and the developer community. ** Korean ** 여러분은 Entrepreneurship(기업가정신)이란 말을 들어 보셨나요?

Interview #1 - How hard is it for a foreigner to actually build a career here in Korea? |

** English ** Have you ever dreamed about building your career overseas? I know I have. While working my regular job, I used to daydream about working abroad—experiencing new environments, meeting new people, and building an international career. Sounds pretty amazing, right? But for me, it stayed just that—a dream. I never actually leaped. And I think most people are probably in the same boat. Today, I'm excited to share the story of an American who didn't just dream about it—she actually did it. She came to Korea to chase her career aspirations. Her name is Eli, and she's currently a Program Manager at a global education tech platform. Four years ago, she moved to Korea to experience the entertainment industry firsthand. She faced numerous challenges along the way, but she pushed through. I want to hear about her journey—what it was like living in Korea, the obstacles she faced, and what drove her to keep going despite the difficulties. So without further ado, let's meet Eli!
