Women Unlimited

Arese Ugwu

Hosted by Arese, the show explores how African women build influence emotionally, financially, socially, and institutionally and what that actually looks like in real life. These are conversations with women who are already inside decision-making rooms, or deliberately positioning themselves to enter them. We talk about money and leverage, institutions and incentives, social capital, reputation, and how ambition reshapes identity. Women Unlimited is for women who want language for what they’re already navigating and clarity about how to move.

Legacy & Impact: Redefining Purpose with Mwamvita Makamba

In this episode of Women Unlimited, Arese sits down with Mwamvita Makamba, a seasoned corporate leader and impact architect whose work blends business, technology, and social purpose. She is the founder of MMConnect Africa Group, a portfolio of impact-driven ventures in digital finance (Kuza Capital), renewable energy (Jibusti Energies), ticketing (Tikitika), carbon trading (MMCarbon), and other inclusive tech platforms. Prior to entrepreneurship, Mwamvita spent over 15 years at Vodacom Group, where she led external affairs, corporate affairs, and enterprise sales, and played a central role in programme initiatives that used technology to solve humanitarian challenges including emergency maternal transport and expanded access to maternal healthcare in rural communities. Born into a family with a strong legacy of public service and leadership, Mwamvita’s commitment to meaningful contribution has taken many forms. Her approach to impact-driven corporate leadership is rooted in the belief that business can and should be a force for social good. In this conversation she reflects on her journey across markets and continents, the intersection of purpose and leadership, and how African women can drive change from within institutions as well as in social sectors. This episode is for leaders and changemakers seeking a deeper understanding of how influence, intention, and strategic action come together to create impact that lasts
