Hello hello! Thanks so much for joining us for episode 13 of That Vet Podcast! Fi is back from skiing, with some hair-raising tales to tell. Amy is overwhelmed with domestic tasks (relatable content for many of us I’m sure) and needs a pep talk. There’s always more on the to do list. This feels particularly pertinent, with the final report published recently from the Competition & Markets Authority investigation into the veterinary industry. Fi found a dog up a mountain! Was he also at Ski School? Amy watering her new raised bed, in her jammy-jams after a night shift nappy-nap Some links from this episode: * Fi’s No. 7 Future Renew sunscreen range * Renovation Husbands Instagram account * KC Davis AKA Domestic Blisters on TikTok & Struggle Care on Instagram plus her book How to Keep House While Drowning * Time Boxing by Marc Zao-Sanders Fi very kindly bought Amy this book, after listening to me moan about my domestic overwhelm in this episode Do we need a That Vet Podcast book club?! Crafting with AI plus wellbeing & moral tips for the workplace

Hello hello! Thanks so much for joining us for episode 12 of That Vet Podcast! Spring has sprung and the warmer days and longer evenings are definitely making us both feel more positive and joyful. The daffodils are up in Amy’s garden, and Fi is away on a family trip for the Easter holidays. We’re here to be your relateable, approachable internet vet pals, chatting vet life, craft life, real life! Subscribe to get our podcast delivered for free to your inbox Amy baked a cake for Easter, which was eaten by family so sadly none of it made it to work! Baking for your work mates is a lovely way to boost moral, if you don’t have a hoard of gannets at home to feed. Below is a list of the wellbeing boosters we chat about in this episode. * Taking flowers into work - reduced to clear daffodils, or flowers grown in your garden * Sharing your home baking * A ‘Little Free Library’ or ‘Swap Corner’ for books and other knick-knacks (ours includes puzzles and gift bags, from when clients bring in chocolates and biscuits) * Asking about your colleagues’ personal lives e.g. remembering they have kids, or asking about their holidays * Empathising with stressful or sad moments in their lives, in a way that makes them feel seen. Try to judge this in a way that won’t upset someone, or feel intrusive - perhaps an email might be better than an in-person discussion for some people * Noticing little things that can help improve someone’s life - a broken watch strap you can replace for example * Buying communal milk * Offering to make tea and coffee * Picking up someone’s work or caseload when they’re away, so they don’t come back from sickness or holiday to a mountain of work to catch up Feel free to click ‘reply’ to let us know yours!
