    can we be honest?

    hey guys… welcome back to what the junk. this episode is a real one for me. honesty has been a huge part of my story and my relationship with God, because my relationship with Him truly began when I stopped pretending and started telling Him what was actually in my heart. and here’s the thing: honesty doesn’t mean that everything we feel is true or that everything we think is right. honesty simply means that it’s real. it’s where we are, and that is where a relationship has to begin. God doesn’t only want the polished, put together, “perfect faith” version of us. He wants all of our hearts: the questions, the anger, the fear, the doubt, the confusion, and the parts we would rather hide. because maybe the opposite of honesty isn’t always lying. maybe it’s pretending. pretending we’re okay. pretending we understand. pretending we trust God when, deep down, we’re struggling to believe that He is good. but God already knows our hearts. honesty doesn’t give Him information He didn’t have. it gives Him access to the places we have been afraid to bring into relationship with Him. and if we want God to show us who He really is, we first have to be honest about who we currently believe Him to be. honesty matters in our relationships with others too. it means learning how to share our hearts with love, humility, and respect. not using “honesty” as an excuse to hurt someone, but allowing ourselves to be truly known. because real relationships cannot grow through pretending. God isn’t afraid of what’s in your heart. He wants you to bring it to Him. so… can we be honest? what the junk are we still pretending about?

    "just surrender it"

    hey guys… welcome back to what the junk. this episode is all about surrender. letting go of control. letting go of our expectations. letting go of the way we thought things were supposed to go. people tell us to “surrender it” all the time… but do we even know what that means? because a lot of us say we trust God… but we still try to control the outcome, the timing, the people, and the plan. and maybe surrender feels so hard because we can’t really trust someone we don’t know. so this episode is about learning to know His heart, trusting that He is good, and believing that He can make good out of anything, even the things that feel broken, painful, or impossible. we also start this episode with a Q&A from questions you guys asked on Instagram, talking honestly about what surrender really looks like in everyday life. and the beautiful thing is… Jesus gets it. in the Garden, He knew what it felt like to face fear, suffering, and the weight of what was ahead. He prayed, “not my will, but Yours be done.” Jesus does not just tell us to surrender from a distance. He shows us how. because that’s the story of the Cross. what looked like defeat became redemption. so maybe surrender isn’t about giving up. maybe it’s about finally letting God be God. so what the junk are we still holding onto? let’s surrender it.

    i'm just so busy

    Hey guys… it’s been a while. excited to be back! this episode is a real one. just an honest conversation and kind of a wake-up call for all of us. we say we’re busy… but honestly, we make time for what we want to. and sometimes the enemy doesn’t need to pull us into something bad.he just keeps us distracted enough to forget about God. because if we’re always moving, always scrolling, always doing…we never slow down enough to actually be with Him. and He’s not asking for a perfect routine or schedule.He just wants relationship. He calls you His son. His daughter. it’s time to get back to the feet of Jesus. so what’s actually taking priority in your life?what keeps getting your time… instead of Him? so what the junk are we so busy with?

    it's not gossip if it's true... right?

The “I’m just venting,” the “but it’s true,” the “you didn’t hear it from me” kind of conversations. We talk about what gossip actually is, why we justify it so easily, and how something being true doesn’t automatically make it right to say. This one gets real. It’s not about shame, it’s about becoming more aware of the power our words have. So… what the junk actually counts as gossip?

I’m so excited to finally launch What the Junk.In this first episode, you’ll get to know a little about me, how I got here, why I’m starting this podcast, and where the name What the Junk came from. We talk about what it really means to dream with the Lord; not having everything figured out, but trusting God with your gifts, desires, and future, and being willing to take faithful risks instead of always playing it safe. I don’t have it all figured out, I’m just trying to follow the Lord one step at a time. Glad you’re here.
