Of Silk and Soil

Jen Anthony

Of Silk and Soil is a space for the woman who feels the quiet pull to come back to herself. It is a return to the body, to the womb and to the rhythm that lives beneath the noise of everyday life. Through womb wisdom, feminine energetics and honest, grounded conversations, this podcast gently guides you back to the woman within. The one who hasn’t disappeared, only been buried beneath expectations, roles and the pace of life. This is not about becoming someone new. It is a remembering. A soft unravelling of who you have been taught to be and a reclamation of your truth, your rhythm and your way of moving through the world. This space is for the woman who feels disconnected from herself, who senses there is more to how she is living and who is ready to return to her own body, her own rhythm and her own inner knowing.  You are not lost. You are returning.

Ep 20: Perimenopause Diaries: Nourishment, Anxiety & Becoming Myself

This episode is a raw, in the moment update, shared exactly as it is, because that is the only way I know how to do this. Last month, my perimenopause symptoms knocked me sideways. Extreme exhaustion, hunger that would not quit, days spent on the sofa. This month, I made changes, prioritising protein, sleep and daily movement and I wanted to sit down and honestly reflect on what shifted, what did not and what new symptoms have shown up to get my attention. Because that is the thing about this journey. Just when you think you have found your footing, something new surfaces. In this episode I share my honest month-by-month experience of perimenopause, what I have changed in terms of nourishment and lifestyle and how that has made a real difference and what I am still figuring out. I also talk about something that feels just as significant as the physical symptoms: The way this threshold is stripping back the layers of who I thought I had to be and the quiet but unmistakable feeling of just becoming more myself. This is not a guide. There are no tidy answers here. It is simply one woman's honest account of navigating this threshold in real time because I believe that is exactly the kind of conversation we need more of. 2. Ep 19: Living Cyclically: Understanding Your Inner Seasons

Ep 19: Living Cyclically: Understanding Your Inner Seasons

This episode is a follow-on from last week's conversation about the womb as a compass and it goes even deeper. Because once we understand that the womb is our energetic centre, the next step is learning how to actually work with it. And that begins with understanding our cycle: Not just the biology of it, but the energy, the wisdom and the rhythm that moves through each phase. In this episode I walk you through the four phases of the menstrual cycle — inner winter, inner spring, inner summer and inner autumn — and what each one is really asking of you energetically. I share what these phases can feel like, what they are inviting you to release, create, express and act on and how to begin working with them rather than against them. I also share honestly how my own cycle does not always follow the book because yours might not either. And that is exactly the point. No two cycles are the same, which is why the single most important thing you can do is start tracking your own. Not with an app. On paper. Every day. Because the patterns are there, you just need the data to see them. If you have ever felt like your energy, your mood or your creativity makes no sense, it probably makes perfect sense. You just need the map. This episode is that map.  I'd love to know what you thought of today's episode Support the show Thank you so much for listening to this episode of Of Silk and Soil. 3. Ep 18: The Womb as a Compass: Your Way Back to Yourself

    Jun 9

Ep 18: The Womb as a Compass: Your Way Back to Yourself

We have been taught that the womb is just an organ. And in the very same breath, we have been taught to override it. In this episode of Silk and Soil, I am exploring something that I believe is one of the most profound and overlooked aspects of our femininity: the womb as an energetic compass. Not just an organ. Not just a place where life is grown and birthed. But a deep, intelligent centre that holds your stories, your desires, your creativity, your conditioning and the wisdom of everything you have ever suppressed or been told not to feel. I talk about the energetic connections between the womb, the heart and the throat and why understanding these connections changes everything about how we listen to ourselves. I share why so many of us have lost touch with this inner compass entirely and what it actually looks like to begin coming back to it. And I guide you through a simple but powerful practice to start connecting to your womb space, one you can return to again and again whenever you are at a crossroads, seeking answers, or simply needing to come home to yourself. This is not about doing more. It is about slowing down enough to finally listen to what has been there all along. If you have ever felt like you do not know how to hear your own inner voice, or you hear it but do not trust it, this episode is where we begin. 4. Ep 17: The Million Pound Vision

    Jun 2

Ep 17: The Million Pound Vision

There are things we talk ourselves out of sharing. This episode is one of them. Today I am doing something that feels deeply uncomfortable: I am sharing my million pound vision out loud. Not because I have it all figured out. Not because I am anywhere close to it right now. But because something inside me kept nudging me to say it and I have learned to trust those nudges even when - especially when - they scare me. This is not an episode about strategy or a step-by-step roadmap to a seven-figure business. It is something far more honest than that. It is about what a vision like this actually stirs up: the conditioning, the contraction, the voice that says who are you to want that? And it is about why I believe that voice is exactly the reason to keep going. I talk about what this vision is really rooted in, because it has nothing to do with vanity and everything to do with impact, resources and the life I know is possible. I share what it feels like to hold a vision that your current reality does not yet reflect. And I open up about how I am learning to run a business that moves with my feminine rhythm rather than against it, even when every piece of conditioning I carry is pulling me in the opposite direction. This episode came through as a transmission. I had no plan for it and no idea where it was going. But I know it needed to be said and I have a feeling it needs to be heard. If you have a vision that scares you, one you have been talking yourself out of sharing, this one is for you. Ep 16: Your Body Already Knows: Reconnecting to the Wisdom Within

Your body has never stopped speaking to you. The question is: Have you been listening? In this episode I am sharing my own story of disconnection: years on the mini pill, living in a relentlessly linear and masculine way, powering through exhaustion, ignoring every signal my body was sending and wondering why nothing felt quite right. I talk about what it actually took to start coming back to myself, what that shift looked like in real and unglamorous terms and why it is not a quick fix, no matter how much we live in a world that tells us it should be. I also share some of the simplest, most accessible ways to begin listening to your body again. Not because I am here to tell you what to do but because I genuinely believe that the answers you are looking for are already inside you. They always have been. We have just been taught, over and over again, to look everywhere else first. This episode is for the woman who feels disconnected from herself and does not quite know where to start. It is for the woman who has spent years going at life like a machine and is starting to wonder if there is another way. And it is for anyone who needs a reminder that your body has been trying to talk to you all along and it is never too late to start listening.  I'd love to know what you thought of today's episode Support the show Thank you so much for listening to this episode of Of Silk and Soil. 6. Ep 15: When Your Soul Finds Its Roots: Lineage, Gifts & Burning It All Down

    May 19

Ep 15: When Your Soul Finds Its Roots: Lineage, Gifts & Burning It All Down

In this episode, I'm sharing something that has genuinely shaken me to my core this week, in the most beautiful, grounding, world-expanding way. It started with a conversation with my shamanic healer about lineage and gifts and it sent me down a rabbit hole that I am still processing as I sit down to record this. It turns out I was born in one of the most ancient cities in all of northern Europe. A city founded by the Celts. A place where the veil between worlds has been thin for millennia. A place deeply connected to an ancient healing tradition called Braucherei, one where women who practised it were so often called witches. And as I started pulling on that thread, more threads appeared. Connections to France. To the Cathars. To the sacred feminine. To the land we now call home. Even to my daughter's name. Layer upon layer, it all started to make sense. The ancient knowing I have always felt but never been able to explain. The memories that live in my body that are not my own. The gifts I have always had but struggled to find the words for. All of it, finally, clicking into place. In this episode I talk about what it truly means to trace your lineage, not through names and dates, but through energy, memory and land. I share what the concept of a Völva is and why it stopped me in my tracks. I explore Braucherei and why discovering it felt like finally finding the word for something I have been doing my whole life. And I open up about the very real, very vulnerable business decision I made this week, to close a container that no longer felt in integrity with who I am becoming, and why sometimes honouring yourself means making the hard call. This episode is raw, wide-ranging and honestly a little bit all over the place, because that is exactly where I am right now. My world is being turned upside down and rebuilt from the foundations up and I would not have it any other way. If you have ever felt like there is a part of you that you just cannot quite reach or a knowing inside you that you cannot explain or a pull toward something you do not yet have the words for, this episode is for you. 7. Ep 14: Perimenopause is a mirror of your life

    May 12

Ep 14: Perimenopause is a mirror of your life

What if your perimenopause symptoms weren't something to push through but something to listen to? That is the question sitting at the heart of today's episode and it's one I'm exploring very much from the inside out. Because right now, I am in it. And what this threshold is revealing to me is more than I ever expected. Over the past few months, my body has been speaking louder than ever before. Extreme hunger that felt almost unbearable. Exhaustion so deep that whole days disappeared. Skin so dry that nothing touched it. And as I've sat with each of these symptoms, really sat with them, rather than overriding them, I've started to see a pattern. Not just hormonal shifts, but a deeper story being told. Every symptom, I believe, is a mirror. A reflection of where we have pushed too hard for too long. Where we have nourished everyone else and forgotten ourselves. Where we have lived on autopilot, following the rules we were handed and quietly abandoning our own needs along the way. Perimenopause, in all of its intensity and unpredictability, has a way of making that impossible to ignore anymore. In this episode, I'm sharing what my own symptoms have reflected back to me, including years on the mini pill, decades of powering through, prioritising convenience over nourishment and putting myself firmly at the bottom of the list. I'm talking about what it means to finally stop and listen to your body rather than override it. I'm exploring the sacred nature of this threshold, the crone archetype and why this energy and this kind of deep inner listening is something every woman can access, regardless of where she is in her cycle or her life. I'm also sharing the three foundations I'm putting in place for myself right now, simple, unglamorous and completely necessary and why I believe that the more inner work we do before perimenopause, the more we are able to meet this threshold with openness rather than resistance. This episode is not a guide. It's not advice from the other side. It's a real, honest, in-the-moment conversation from a woman who is walking this path consciously and wants you to know: you don't have to walk it alone and you don't have to be ashamed of any of it. Because we need to start talking about this. Openly, honestly, and without apology. 🌿 I'd love to know what you thought of today's episode Support the show Thank you so much for listening to this episode of Of Silk and Soil.
