Money Isn’t the Problem—You Might Be

In this episode, Josh and Matt take on one of the most misunderstood and often avoided topics in the Christian life: money. Is money good? Is it dangerous? Should Christians pursue it, avoid it, or something in between? Too often, we swing to extremes—either believing wealth is evil or chasing it like it’s everything. But Scripture paints a much deeper picture. Money itself isn’t the issue… the heart is. The guys dig into Malachi chapter 3, where God, speaking through the final prophet of the Old Testament, calls out the nation of Israel—not for having money, but for robbing Him. Their issue wasn’t income… it was trust, obedience, and misplaced priorities. What does it really mean to “rob God”? Why does God tie generosity to blessing? And how can money quietly become an idol in our lives—just like anything else? From tithing to stewardship, from provision to pride, this episode challenges you to take an honest look at your relationship with money and ask: Is God my provider… or is my bank account? Because in the end, money isn’t just about dollars and cents— it’s about who (or what) you trust. Fathers, Don’t Provoke Your Children

In this episode of Living with Boundaries, we take a hard but necessary look at the role of fathers and the weight of their influence in the home. Rooted in the truth of Ephesians 6:4, we unpack what it really means when Scripture says, “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger…” Too often, the way we lead—through harshness, inconsistency, unrealistic expectations, or emotional distance—can unintentionally create frustration, resentment, and even embitterment in our kids. This episode challenges fathers to examine not just their authority, but their tone, their presence, and their intentionality. We talk about: What it looks like to provoke vs. to lead with purposeHow discipline and grace are meant to work togetherThe long-term impact of a father’s words and actionsPractical ways to raise children in encouragement, not frustrationThis isn’t about perfection—it’s about awareness, growth, and leading our families in a way that reflects both truth and love. If you’re a father, mentor, or anyone influencing the next generation, this episode will challenge and encourage you to lead differently. If you want, I can also create a shorter version for Buzzsprout or social media captions. Why Skipping Church Is Costing You More Than You Realize

Church isn’t just a place you go—it’s a community you’re meant to be part of. In this episode, we take a deeper look at why church is essential to a strong, growing faith and how it impacts the way we lead our families and live our lives. It’s easy to think we can do faith on our own—watch a sermon online, pray privately, and stay disconnected. But God didn’t design us to walk this journey alone. We were created for community, for accountability, and for encouragement from other believers who are pursuing the same purpose. Church isn’t perfect—because people aren’t perfect. There will be challenges, frustrations, and moments where it would feel easier to step away. But growth often happens in those moments. Being part of a church body helps refine us, strengthen us, and remind us that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves. We talk about the importance of showing up—not just to receive, but to serve. Because church isn’t just about what we get out of it—it’s about what we bring to it. Our presence, our encouragement, and our willingness to invest in others all matter. This episode is a reminder that isolation weakens faith, but community strengthens it. When we commit to being planted in a church, it shapes how we lead our homes, how we handle adversity, and how we stay grounded in our walk with God. “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another…” – Hebrews 10:25 Living with Boundaries is a podcast for dads who want to lead their homes with clarity, conviction, and courage. A Life Marked by Gratitude

Gratitude isn’t just a reaction—it’s a way of life. In this episode, we take a deeper look at what it truly means to live a life marked by thankfulness, not just when things are going well, but in every season. It’s easy to praise God in the wins—the promotions, the victories, the answered prayers. But what about the waiting seasons? The hard moments? The times when God feels silent? Real gratitude is built when we recognize that God is still working, still providing, and still present—even when we don’t fully understand the situation. We share personal stories of how God has shown up in both big and small ways, and how looking back helps us see His faithfulness more clearly. Gratitude shifts our perspective—it moves us from focusing on what we lack to trusting in what God has already done and what He promises to do. This episode is a reminder that gratitude isn’t based on circumstances—it’s rooted in who God is. When we choose to live with that mindset, it changes how we lead our families, how we face challenges, and how we walk in our faith every day. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Living with Boundaries is a podcast for dads who want to lead their homes with clarity, conviction, and courage. Fear — When Obedience Feels Risky

Fear has a way of keeping us stuck. In this episode of Living with Boundaries, Josh and Matt talk about the fears that can stop us from stepping into what God is calling us to do. Sometimes it’s fear of failure. Sometimes it’s fear of what others might think. And sometimes it’s simply the fear of stepping into something new. Ironically, they share that even starting this podcast came with fear. But through encouragement from each other and the support of the church community around them, they’ve been reminded that God rarely calls us to something comfortable — He calls us to something faithful. The Bible reminds us in 1 John 4:18 that “perfect love casts out fear.” When we begin to trust God more than our fears, we discover that obedience is often on the other side of discomfort. In this episode they discuss: The fears that keep people from doing what God asksWhy stepping out in faith almost always feels riskyHow Christian community helps us overcome fearWhy obedience matters more than comfortIf you’ve ever felt God nudging you toward something but fear held you back, this conversation is for you. 1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…" Living with Boundaries is a podcast for dads who want to lead their homes with clarity, conviction, and courage.
