Are You Building Everyone Else’s Dream While Yours Waits?

Are You Building Everyone Else’s Dream While Yours Waits? Opening Welcome to The Hope Midwife. I’m your host, Necie Edwards. Today’s cup of tea is for every woman who ends the day completely exhausted… Not because she spent the day building the life she longs for… But because she spent every ounce of energy building someone else’s. She clocks in.  She solves problems.  She keeps the business moving.  She pours into customers.  She rescues coworkers.  She makes deadlines. Then she comes home… And the dream God placed inside her gets whatever energy is left. Usually…  Almost none. Quiet Sip Take a slow sip of your tea. Ask yourself: “Am I tired from purpose…or am I tired from postponing it?” There is a difference. Midwife Reflection Fatigue doesn’t always come from doing too much. Sometimes it comes from doing too much that isn’t feeding your soul. You can spend eight… Ten… Even twelve hours making someone else’s business thrive. Helping them reach goals. Helping them earn profits. Helping them grow. Meanwhile… Your journal sits unopened. Your website waits. Your business idea stays in your notebook. Your podcast episode goes unrecorded. Your gifts stay on the shelf. Not because you don’t care. Because you’re empty. There comes a point where your body isn’t just asking for sleep. It’s asking for alignment. Three Signs You May Be Spiritually Worn Out 1. You have ideas but no energy. Not because you’re lazy. Because you’ve already spent your best hours elsewhere. 2. You resent your own dreams. Not because you don’t love them. Because they now feel like another job. 3. You begin believing “someday.” Someday I’ll launch. Someday I’ll write the book. Someday I’ll create the business. Someday becomes years. Hope Moment Working a job isn’t failure. Many dreams are financed by jobs. Many ministries are funded by paychecks. Many businesses begin after five o’clock. The problem isn’t employment. The problem is forgetting that your dream deserves some of your best energy too. Even fifteen focused minutes each day says, “I still believe in what God planted in me.” Reflection Questions Ask yourself… What dream have I placed on permanent hold?Where is all of my energy going? What can I release? What deserves my first fruits instead of my leftovers? What would change if I treated my calling like an appointment instead of a wish? Tea Disclaimer As always… This tea is offered for comfort and reflection—not as medical advice. If you have health concerns or questions about herbs, consult your healthcare provider. Midwife’s Prayer Father, Thank You for the work You’ve provided. Thank You for every opportunity to serve. But remind us that we were not created only to build someone else’s vision. Help us to steward the gifts You placed within us. Restore our strength. Protect our peace. Give us courage to make room for what You’ve called us to create. Teach us that small, faithful steps are enough. May we stop living on leftovers and begin investing in the life You’ve prepared for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Sparkle Affirmation I am more than the work I do for others. I will protect my energy, honor my calling, and take one faithful step toward the life I am building. Closing Friend… Maybe today isn’t the day you finish your dream. Maybe today is simply the day you stop abandoning it. One paragraph. One journal page. One email. One podcast. One prayer. One brushstroke. Small acts of faith become beautiful lives over time. Until next time… Keep pouring into yourself, keep walking in hope, and remember… Stay on Hope Avenue. A real conversation about motherhood, autism parenting, financial struggle, separation, self-worth, and fighting for the support your child deserves.

Many women stay silent out of guilt, fear, or the desire to protect others — even while struggling financially, emotionally, and mentally. In this episode, we discuss self-empowerment, motherhood, separation, autism parenting, and the importance of understanding your rights. Fighting for child support is not about revenge or punishment. It is about stability, dignity, and making sure children receive the care and support they deserve. This conversation is for every woman who has ever felt afraid to speak up for herself while carrying the weight of caregiving alone. You matter. Your child matters. Workplace Overwhelm Reset

Today’s intention is: “I choose steady focus. I will do the next right thing—gently.” And I want to share something that poured into me today— I attended a virtual tea event with Mayakia Anderson inside The Tea House on https://www.skool.com/the-tea-house-2336, and it reminded me that sometimes the reset we need isn’t dramatic… it’s a pause, a warm cup, and a moment of community. So we’re bringing that same energy into this episode. Today’s tea is green tea—steady focus, gentle energy. Tea Disclaimer: For comfort only—not medical advice. Check safety with your provider if needed. Take a sip and ask yourself one calming question: “What is the next right thing… not everything?” Workplace overwhelm is real Workplace overwhelm doesn’t mean you’re weak. It often means you’re carrying too much with too little support—and still expected to perform like you’re fine. Signs you’re overloaded can look like: brain fog, tension headaches, irritability, trouble sleeping, feeling behind no matter how hard you work, or feeling like you can’t breathe deeply. So today I’m giving you a simple reset you can do at your desk, in the restroom, in your car, or even in a hallway—quietly, gently, without counting. The desk reset (2 minutes) If you can, place both feet on the ground. Let your hands relax. Unclench your jaw. Drop your shoulders. Breathe in… nice and easy… soft pause… now breathe out… even slower. Again… in… soft pause… out… longer. Now say quietly: “Pause… breathe… keep going… gently.” Three hope sentences for hard workdays When pressure rises, borrow one of these sentences: “I can do the next right thing.”“I don’t have to do everything at once.”“My value is not measured by my output.” Pick the one you need most today. Say it again slowly. The 4 D’s (reduce the load) When tasks pile up, use the 4 D’s to reduce overwhelm: Do — handle what must be done today.Delay — schedule what can wait.Delegate — ask for support when possible.Delete — let go of what isn’t necessary.Friend, sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do at work… is simplify. Micro-boundaries at work (what to say) Here are scripts you can use without sounding harsh: “I’m at capacity. What’s the priority?”“What’s the deadline, and what can move?”“I can do A today. B will need to wait.”“Can we put this in an email so I can plan it correctly?” Meeting and email protection If meetings drain you, try: “I can stay for the first 15 minutes, then I have to step out.” If email is overwhelming, try: “I received this. I’ll respond by [time/day].” This protects your peace and your focus. A quick lunch-break reset If you get even five minutes at lunch, do this: sip your tea, look at one thing that feels calming, and breathe in… soft pause… out… longer. Then ask: “What would make the rest of today 10 percent easier?” Journal prompt “The one thing draining me at work is _______. The one thing that would help me is _______.” Faith option If you’re faith-centered, whisper: “God, give me wisdom for this moment.” Not for the whole year. Not for the whole job. Just this moment.
