    Workplace Overwhelm Reset

Today’s intention is: “I choose steady focus. I will do the next right thing—gently.” And I want to share something that poured into me today— I attended a virtual tea event with Mayakia Anderson inside The Tea House on https://www.skool.com/the-tea-house-2336, and it reminded me that sometimes the reset we need isn’t dramatic… it’s a pause, a warm cup, and a moment of community. So we’re bringing that same energy into this episode. Today’s tea is green tea—steady focus, gentle energy. Tea Disclaimer: For comfort only—not medical advice. Check safety with your provider if needed. Take a sip and ask yourself one calming question: “What is the next right thing… not everything?” Workplace overwhelm is real Workplace overwhelm doesn’t mean you’re weak. It often means you’re carrying too much with too little support—and still expected to perform like you’re fine. Signs you’re overloaded can look like: brain fog, tension headaches, irritability, trouble sleeping, feeling behind no matter how hard you work, or feeling like you can’t breathe deeply. So today I’m giving you a simple reset you can do at your desk, in the restroom, in your car, or even in a hallway—quietly, gently, without counting. The desk reset (2 minutes) If you can, place both feet on the ground. Let your hands relax. Unclench your jaw. Drop your shoulders. Breathe in… nice and easy… soft pause… now breathe out… even slower. Again… in… soft pause… out… longer. Now say quietly: “Pause… breathe… keep going… gently.” Three hope sentences for hard workdays When pressure rises, borrow one of these sentences: “I can do the next right thing.”“I don’t have to do everything at once.”“My value is not measured by my output.” Pick the one you need most today. Say it again slowly. The 4 D’s (reduce the load) When tasks pile up, use the 4 D’s to reduce overwhelm: Do — handle what must be done today.Delay — schedule what can wait.Delegate — ask for support when possible.Delete — let go of what isn’t necessary.Friend, sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do at work… is simplify. Micro-boundaries at work (what to say) Here are scripts you can use without sounding harsh: “I’m at capacity. What’s the priority?”“What’s the deadline, and what can move?”“I can do A today. B will need to wait.”“Can we put this in an email so I can plan it correctly?” Meeting and email protection If meetings drain you, try: “I can stay for the first 15 minutes, then I have to step out.” If email is overwhelming, try: “I received this. I’ll respond by [time/day].” This protects your peace and your f Send us Fan Mail Support the show Just a little reminder! Grief: Holding Loss with Tenderness

Episode 5 Hey friend... welcome back to The Hope Midwife Podcast. I'm Necie Edwards, yourHope Midwife. If your heart is heavy today, I'm really glad you're here. Let's take a slow breath together. Breathe in... nice and easy... hold it softly... now breathe out... even slower. Again... in... soft pause... out... longer. Today's tea is chamomile - soft comfort, a gentle landing. Tea Disclaimer: For comfort only - not medical advice. Check safety with your provider if needed. Take a sip... and let your body hear this message: "I don't have to rush." Grief is more than death Today we're talking about grief. And grief isn't only about death. Grief can be the loss of your health, your energy, your job, your stability, your identity, your plans, or the version of life you thought you'd have. Sometimes grief looks like sadness. Sometimes it looks like numbness. Sometimes it shows up as irritation, brain fog, or exhaustion that doesn't make sense. And none of that means you're broken. It means something mattered. A myth to release One of the biggest myths about grief is this: "I should be over it by now." Friend, grief doesn't follow a schedule. It moves in waves. Some days you'll feel steady. Some days it hits you out of nowhere - a song, a smell, a date on the calendar, a memory. That doesn't mean you're going backwards. That means you're human. 🎁 Free Listener Gift: Grab your free reset guide: When You’re Carrying Too Much: A Gentle Reset for the Weary Heart ➡️ Link: [https://drive.proton.me/urls/R10A6F8HW4#kge5Zfyh8CtP https://drive.proton.me/urls/DDZ24E1VR8#m48wDCoh9md5 Stay connected: https://www.instagram.com/sereniteaandhope?igsh=Y3gxNGRzOGV0dzFi&utm_source=qr Send us Fan Mail Support the show Just a little reminder! Boundaries : Protecting Your Peace Without Guilt

Episode 4 Peppermint Boundaries: Protecting Your Peace Without Guilt Tea: Peppermint Hey friend... welcome back to The Hope Midwife Podcast - where hope is nurtured, restored, and reborn. I'm Necie Edwards, your Hope Midwife. If you're listening today feeling tired, stretched, or emotionally overdrawn, I want you to hear this right away: you are not weak - you are overextended. [Pause] Let's take a slow breath together. Breathe in... nice and easy... hold it softly... now breathe out... even slower. Again... in... soft pause... out... longer. Good. Today we're going to talk about boundaries - not the cold, harsh kind. I'm talking about gentle boundaries that protect your peace and make room for your healing. Go ahead and make your tea with me, or imagine it if you're driving or at work. Today's tea is peppermint - fresh, crisp, clarity in a cup. Tea Disclaimer: For comfort only - not medical advice. Check safety with your provider if needed. Take a slow sip... and as you exhale, let your shoulders drop. Unclench your jaw. Let your body hear this message: "I can soften right now." What boundaries really are Here's the simplest way I can say it: a boundary is not a wall. A boundary is a gate.  It decides what gets access to you and what doesn't. Boundaries are not about controlling other people. Boundaries are about caring for your nervous system, your energy, your time, and your health - especially when you're already carrying too much. And if you're thinking, "Necie, I feel guilty even talking about boundaries," I want you to know that's common. Many of us were taught that being a good woman means being available, agreeable, and endlessly giving. But hear me, friend: you do not have to earn rest. You do not have to earn the right to say no. You are allowed to protect what God is rebuilding in you. The energy leak check Let’s do a quick check-in. I call this the energy leak check. If any of these are true, you probably need a boundary: - You say yes, then feel resentment or exhaustion later. - You feel guilty resting. - You over-explain your no. - Certain texts or calls drain you before you even answer. - You're always the fixer, the helper, the one who holds it down.
