Stop Comparing Your Journey To Everyone Else | OutRun Us Podcast | Episode. 19

This week, we kick things off with a debate that quickly turns into one of our deepest conversations yet. It all starts with a simple question: Do short runs actually matter?  We share our different perspectives on training, appreciating every run, and how your mindset changes as your goals evolve. From there, the conversation shifts to preparing for Moab 240. Taylor opens up about the pressure she’s been feeling, choosing pacers, and the mental challenges that come long before race day. Together, we explore how easy it is to let negative thoughts take over—and why it’s so important to return to the reasons we started running in the first place. We also announce the return of our challenges, talk about healthy competitiveness, and discuss why the strongest mindset isn’t pretending everything will be easy—it’s accepting that the hard moments will come and trusting yourself to get through them.  In this episode, we cover: Do shorter runs still have value? Why your mindset evolves as your training changesPreparing mentally for Moab 240Choosing the right people to support youThe power of sharing your worriesWhy your “why” matters more than everThe return of the OutRun Us Challenges Whether you’re training for your first race or your biggest challenge yet, this episode is all about protecting your mindset, trusting your journey, and remembering why you started. Why We Need to Make Running Fun Again | OutRun Us Podcast | Ep. 17

This week, we’re celebrating two big milestones: 200 consecutive days of running and 2,000 miles already completed in 2026. What started as a catch-up quickly turned into a conversation about what it really means to be an ultrarunner. Is it the race, the medal, or simply covering the distance? We share our own experiences with imposter syndrome, comparing ourselves to others, and feeling like we need external validation to “earn” the title of runner. We also reflect on how the people around us and the content we consume shape our ambitions. From Ironman dreams to ultrarunning, we talk about how our journeys have evolved, the pressure that social media can create, and why sometimes the best thing we can do is strip everything back and remember why we started running in the first place. We finish the episode with some fun quick-fire questions before looking ahead to next week’s episode with our guest, Bryson.🎙️ In this episode, we cover: - Celebrating 200 days of running and 2,000 miles in 2026 - When do you become an ultrarunner? - Imposter syndrome and chasing validation - The influence of social media on running - Why running should be fun - Balancing training, work, and content creation - Quick-fire running questions Whether you’re training for your first ultra or simply trying to rediscover the joy of running, we hope this episode reminds you that the journey is about much more than medals, pace, or distance.
