True Crime Fiction Gets a Little TOO Real 😳 The Whisper Man & a Real-Life Serial Killer Collector

I watched The Whisper Man on Netflix expecting a creepy psychological thriller. Great cast, interesting story, supernatural stuff was a little hokey for me. 😂 But one character REALLY stuck with me: a man obsessed with collecting serial-killer memorabilia. Then, almost immediately afterward, I came across the real-life case of Benjamin Larson, a Wisconsin man accused of stalking his former girlfriend for more than 13 years. When authorities searched his property, they reportedly found human remains and a massive collection of true-crime memorabilia, including items purportedly connected to Ed Gein, the Zodiac Killer and John Wayne Gacy. And then came the detail that stopped me cold: A jar was reportedly labeled as containing a piece of John Wayne Gacy’s brain. 😳 Important distinction: that claim has not been authenticated simply because the jar was labeled that way. But if it ever IS authenticated, I have another question… HOW DID HE GET IT?! Who originally possessed it? Who transferred or sold it? And how does something like that potentially make its way into the private memorabilia market? Suddenly the creepy collector in The Whisper Man doesn't seem quite so fictional. So now I want to know: Where do you draw the line with true-crime memorabilia? Historical artifact…or absolutely freaking not? And if you’ve watched The Whisper Man, tell me what you thought. 👇 #TheWhisperMan #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #JohnWayneGacy #EdGein #Netflix #NetflixMovies #CrimeNews #SerialKillerMemorabilia #TrueCrimeDiscussion #TalkingTrashAndTacos
