About Your House Radio and Put Tools in Schools

Ray Terry

Welcome to About Your House Radio Stream Live on Fox Sports Charlotte App! The initiative ” Put Tools in Schools” is raising awareness of the Career Pathways offered in the Construction Trades. All students are not meant for College and the debt associated with it. Working with your hands in the trades is not for everyone either, but, we need to expose these pathways to all students regardless of grades and academics. Our Goal is to be in One High School every week in the next school year. A large task, but we can do it for the students and our futures. Kids need to connect to their creative genius that is in all of us. We all need Purpose to be Happy. Trades Career Days are when we, the Construction Industry, show up at 7:00 am and set up interactive activities that engage the students minds and hands. 7 to 15 companies will be present showing examples of hands-on skills of their particular trade. The Companies will have at least three representatives to talk and work with the students. This is an opportunity to address 700-1000 students in one day. All companies will have handouts with all benefits of that career pathway. Believe it or not, the vast majority of students do not know what the word apprenticeship means. They are unaware of the opportunities that are available right after Graduation from High School. We all know by now that College is not for everyone. This can and has already changed students Lives.
