#2 Dating Multiple People as a Christian

Christian Bachelorette Ep. 2 – Dating Multiple People: Integrity, Healing, and Keeping Hope AliveWelcome back to episode two of Christian Bachelorette, hosted by Jayme Vainer. In this episode, Jayme shares how she came to embrace dating multiple people after years of doing things her way—an approach that led to repeated heartbreak. As someone who feared rejection and struggled with people-pleasing, the idea initially felt impossible. After moving to California at 21, Jayme discovered Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend through Monday Night Solutions and became deeply impacted by Christian psychology. She read How to Get a Date Worth Keeping but initially rejected its encouragement to date multiple people because she didn’t want to reject anyone—or be rejected. Later, while helping plan the wedding of Heart of Dating founders Kate and Jade Tomlin, Jayme joined their School of Dating mentorship and heard the same principles again. This time, after realizing her approach wasn’t working, she surrendered and asked God what to do.Jayme explains that dating multiple people isn’t for everyone, but it was a helpful method for her anxious attachment style and tendency to overcommit too quickly. In October 2022, she partnered with the Lord by getting on two dating apps, flirting on social media, attending church and community events, and asking for setups—moving from a “complete drought” of catfishing and ghosting to dating 15 men in one month. She closes with practical guidance on how to do this with integrity—being honest, clear, and kind, and communicating early that she isn’t committing or kissing for two to three months. The episode ends with a hopeful reminder from Psalm 37 and a preview that the next episode will focus on anxious attachment.
