Don’t You Want Somebody To Love

Text Me! I’d love to hear from you! Remember Grace Slick and Jefferson Airplane singing, “Don’t You Want Somebody to Love?” Well, absolutely! There’s nothing wrong with wanting somebody to love, somebody to share life’s adventures with, and somebody to sit beside you through the good days and the difficult ones. But when it comes to Christian dating, maybe there’s a better question: Don’t you want somebody to love who loves the Lord, too? In this episode, we’re talking about dating as a single adult, the difference between chemistry and Christian compatibility, premarital sex, and the dangers of becoming unequally yoked. Are you dating the person in front of you, or the person you hope they’ll eventually become? Are you looking for a godly companion, or compromising your convictions because you don’t want to be alone? Because finding somebody is one thing. Finding somebody who shares your faith, respects your convictions, and wants to walk in the same direction spiritually is something else entirely. You can want companionship without compromising your Christianity. You can desire marriage without making it an idol. And you don’t have to settle for a relationship that pulls you away from the very God you’re trying to serve. Maybe you don’t just want somebody to love. Maybe you want somebody to love Jesus right alongside you. Let’s talk about dating with purpose, recognizing the fruit, and remembering that loneliness is never a good reason to abandon your convictions.
