THE SKYWAY PODCAST Connecting the Ridge to the Valley The Skyway Podcast is a family-friendly, interview-style podcast sharing the people, businesses, ideas, adventures, and stories that make the Paradise, Magalia, Concow, and greater Butte County community such a remarkable place to call home. Built for the drive up and down the Skyway, the show connects the Ridge to the Valley through conversations with local business owners, artists, educators, adventurers, community leaders, historians, public servants, and all-around do-gooders. The idea is pretty simple: there are a lot of good people doing good things around here, and more people should know about them. From rebuilding businesses and strengthening community organizations to exploring local history, recreation, food, health, art, education, and the outdoors, The Skyway gives our neighbors a place to tell their stories in their own words. These are conversations about where we've been, where we're going, and the people helping move Butte County forward. Enjoy the drive — and stay safe out there. GOOD PEOPLE. GOOD WORK. GOOD NEWS. As The Skyway continues to grow, so does its commitment to serving the Ridge. Through a growing partnership with the Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce, the podcast is working to do an even better job of finding and sharing the good news happening throughout Paradise, Magalia, and our surrounding communities. That means introducing listeners to more local businesses, community organizations, entrepreneurs, volunteers, leaders, creators, characters, and do-gooders who are putting their time and energy into making this area better. Our communities have certainly faced their share of difficult stories. The Skyway exists to make sure the good stories get told, too. 25 EPISODES AND COUNTING Here's a quick look at the people who have joined us on The Skyway so far: 01 — Stephen Chollet — Mentalist, Emmy-winning storyteller & the curious mind who helped launch the show 02 — Mark Thorpe — Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce & business on the Ridge 03 — Staci Galla — Mothers on the Ridge & building community through connection 04 — Andrea & Arianna Mathiopolous — The Hatchet House & Chico entrepreneurship 05 — Ryan Millard — Evolve Longevity and Wellness & functional neurology 06 — Don Criswell, Part I — Paradise Ridge history, the Gold Nugget Museum & a lifetime of stories 07 — Don Criswell, Part II — More Ridge history with one of our favorite local do-gooders 08 — Lauren de Terra — Fire safety, world travel & putting down roots in Paradise 09 — Bob Fitzgerald — Concours Elite, philanthropy & the story of a local legend 10 — Jason Hastain — The Playdium & creating a place for families to play 11 — Kelly Gordon — Paradise High School, Paradise Rotary & a career in education 12 — Nichole Farley — Explore Butte County & finding adventure close to home 13 — Natalia Skuba — The Copper Oasis, jewelry, art & creative courage 14 — Doug Speicher — Real estate, social media, family & life on the Ridge 15 — Ev Duran — UTB Studios, filmmaking, storytelling & an Emmy-winning journey 16 — April Kelly — Nic's in Paradise, food, wine, travel & bringing flavor home to the Ridge 17 — Meg Smaker — Documentary filmmaking, world travel & telling difficult stories 18 — Calli-Jane West — Fire safety, writing, motherhood & community leadership 19 — Lucas Blair — Paradise Tribute Series, Pine & Flume Co., art & entrepreneurship 20 — Livia & Wayne Kurtz — Paradise Grocery Outlet, business ownership & positive community energy 21 — Jamie Kalanquin — Thistle & Stitch, apparel entrepreneurship & Highland cow enthusiasm 22 — Jenni Harris — Curves Paradise, women's fitness & the power of encouragement 23 — Torey Feldhaus — TNT Dirt Fishin Adventures, gold finding & exploring what's buried out there 24 — Jason Gambill — Pesto Italian Cuisine, pipelin
