UNFILTERED #10 True Leadership and the Price of Cowardice

True Leadership and the Price of Cowardice. Description: Who was Jesus Christ? How does today’s “Church” represent him? And what does it mean to exemplify His character? In today’s Christianity, we hear a lot about the life and ministry of Jesus. Pastors preach from the pulpit how we are to be “more like Him.” We often hear that He was Loving, Kind, Forgiving, and Compassionate, among many other wonderful qualities. Those that name the name of Christ often strive to model this example of Jesus to a lost world. But are we also missing something of greater significance?  So let’s cut to the chase shall we? Jesus was also a man that despised evil. In the Bible, in the book of John 2:14-16, we learn something very different than he just solely walked around loving people. Right before He began His ministry, He went to the temple. What He witnessed aroused true righteous anger. He not only turned over the money changers, He cleared out ALL the animals and ALL the people as well! And oh yeah, did I mention he made a whip out of chords? Can you imagine the scene? It’s just a little different from the stereotypical message that Jesus loved everyone!  Too many people, in positions of power and authority in today’s Church Inc., constantly tell their congregants to ALWAYS be nice, loving, and forgiving because that’s the way Jesus lived. But that is not the complete truth. We rarely, if ever are taught about His righteous indignation. Why not? Today’s podcast will not only answer some of those questions, but if you profess to be a Christian, it may actually cause you to pause and do some serious reevaluating. So next time you hear a sermon on how we are to model Jesus’ character to a fallen world, ask yourself, are they teaching the true, complete, and absolute life and ministry of Jesus Christ?

Unfiltered #6 Count The Cost: The Persecution of Jaden Ivey

Jaden Ivey is a 24 year old, NBA player, who was released from the Chicago Bulls basketball team, merely for his faith. He is a devout Christian who lives his life in relation to the God he loves above all. For that, he has been called weird, sick, crazy, insane, and a trouble maker, whose “conduct was detrimental to the team.” Professional Sports went the way of wokeness many years ago, with corporate virtue-signaling and the pushing of worldly values, irregardless of the degree of ethics or morality at the core of the issues. When one’s personal beliefs run contrary to that agenda and the creed of the employer, it usually does not end well. But what happens when it’s a personal issue of faith? When one stands firm for what they believe to be right and true? Is there still not freedom of speech and religion in our country? Jesus said it best 2000 years ago, recorded in the Bible in the book of John, chapter 15 verse 18: “If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me before it hated you.” No doubt, a biblical, Christian worldview, runs antithetical and in opposition to a secular society which attempts to impose its beliefs by shaping public values and views. Much will be said in the coming weeks about this young man who is clearly standing by his love for Christ. How will the church respond, if at all? Will the “world” continue to hate and revile him? What about the NBA? Will anything be said or done about their stance regarding Ivey’s behavior? In this podcast, Frank Sontag clearly and emphatically, speaks to the abject hypocrisy of this story, as well as the greater Truth and outcome. When all is said and done, God Will have His Way, and all will be held accountable and judged appropriately. Today is an undeniable gift and blessing! Get right with God and live for His Glory. And may God bless Jaden Ivey and his family deeply!

UNFILTERED #5: We Do What We’re Told: The Lies of Obedience and Submission.

The Milgram Experiment has come to be known as a groundbreaking study that examined how far someone could be convinced to obey authority, even to the point of harming another individual. Conducted in the early 1960’s on the grounds of Yale University, Milgram put forth his theory of conformism: when an individual who does not have enough knowledge to make a decision, will often defer to a higher authority, even violating their own conscience through pressure or coercion.  In today’s day and age, we are being inundated with a barrage of non stop information, through the increased use of technology and social media. But along the lines of Milgram’s warnings, do we run the risk of being told “all is well” and we must embrace what is popular or what is the majority think without any resistance or conflict? What is really going on here? Is the ongoing message of fear and division just another ploy of the tyrannical, power hungry elites, to keep the masses in check? In his latest UNFILTERED podcast, Frank Sontag ponders the dangers we may be facing as a world, by abandoning the art of critical thinking or even questioning what we are told is true. Frank also shares his passionate perspective on where we need to go from here, and to live out our lives to the fullest. But have we as a people lost our moral high ground? Have we even freely given up our souls? Is it too late? Or is this the moment in our history when we need wake up, wipe the slumber from our spiritual eyes, and step into the true meaning and purpose of our God given lives?
