The Menstruality-Led Society Podcast: Menstruality as the Golden Thread to Regenerative Power

Olga Nardy

What if menstruation was never meant to be pushed through—but wisdom to receive? What if the menstrual cycle carried an intelligence capable of guiding women’s health, leadership, and the future of society? The Menstruality-Led Society Podcast is an educational and initiatory space for remembering menstruality—from menarche through menopause—as a regenerative power rather than a problem to manage. Through guided conversations, reflective teaching, and ancient wisdom traditions, we explore consciousness, embodiment, and cyclical intelligence, menstruation is explored as a source of vitality, wisdom, menstrual health, and heart-based leadership. Created for menstruating, peri-menopausal, and menopausal women—with a special invitation to mothers of daughters—this podcast supports women to understand, integrate, and embody cyclical wisdom in their bodies and lives. It invites deeper inquiry: What changes when women stop overriding their cycles and start trusting their bodies? How might leadership, decision-making, and society shift when menstrual intelligence is lived rather than hidden? At the heart of the podcast lives one essential inquiry—one that unfolds through listening, education, reflection, and lived experience: What becomes possible—personally and collectively—when women reclaim menstruality as a regenerative intelligence? Because menstruation and menopause are not a biological flaw, that is meant to be fixed. This podcast is an invitation into remembering. Remembering who you are in your body - where deep healing becomes possible. And also remembering the collective power that women carry when re-aligning with the cyclical nature of life. Here, personal healing and societal transformation are no longer separate, and menstrual wisdom is restored as a force that guides life forward.

The Great Feminine Shift. Why Achievement Is No Longer Enough and What the Menstrual Cycle Has to Do With It

There are moments when the timing of things feels almost impossible to ignore. I recorded this episode on August 12th, under a New Moon and total solar eclipse—without knowing that this particular eclipse was taking place when the topic for the episode had begun organically forming in my mind several days earlier. According to Vedic astrology, this particular eclipse carries the potential for a powerful inward and karmic reset—illuminating unconscious emotional patterns, attachments and inherited conditioning that have shaped who we believe ourselves to be. Deep karmic patterns can be brought to the surface, creating the possibility for what has been carried for a very long time to be fundamentally shifted and released. Significantly, its themes also touch the generational matriarchal line. And that is almost precisely what this episode is about. In This Episode, I Explore Why women can feel more powerful than ever, yet powerless to create what they truly desire The shift from achievement to self-actualisation and authentic power How modern women are menstruating for more of their lifespan than generations before us—and how this may be contributing to an awakening of feminine intelligence How the collective energy of women's menstrual cycles may be contributing to this wider shift The “inner glass ceiling” created by conditioning, inherited patterns and limiting beliefs How our self-concept represents only a tiny slice of our greater potential How the menstrual cycle reveals compromised needs, boundaries and authenticity The wisdom of the four inner seasons as a pathway to becoming more fully who we are Key Reflection Something profound is shifting within women. For the first time in known history, many women are experiencing continuous menstrual cycles across much more of their reproductive lives. At the same time, we are witnessing a growing desire to move beyond achievement towards meaning, authenticity, purpose and a fuller expression of our potential. Our menstrual cycles may be playing a far greater role in this awakening than we realise. Each cycle brings us into contact with what is true, what is no longer aligned, and where our conditioning and self-concept are keeping us small. Perhaps our greatest inner glass ceiling is believing that the limited identity we currently know is all that we are. What This Means for You Take an honest look at how deeply the achievement mindset may still be shaping your life. Where are you still measuring your worth through what you accomplish, produce or acquire? Where are you overriding your needs, intuition or deeper desires in order to keep achieving? And despite everything you may have accomplished, do you feel strangely powerless to create the life you actually want—or perhaps unable to even articulate what that life looks like? Pay attention to the desires that are trying to emerge beneath the life you have been conditioned to pursue. Your frustration, restlessness or sense that something no longer fits may be pointing towards a version of you that your current self-concept cannot yet fully imagine. And if you are tracking your menstrual cycle only to know when your next period is coming, consider tapping into its much greater potential. Begin tracking the shifts in your needs, desires, boundaries, energy and inner knowing throughout the month. My free guide can help you begin. Ayurvedic Basics (Part 2) - The Ancient Science of Balance

In This Episode In this episode, I explore: Ayurveda, the medicinal system of balance in alignment with nature’s rhythms How Ayurveda exists to support us in living a purposeful and balanced life. The Fifth Vital Sign - Why the menstrual cycle is one of the clearest reflections of a woman's overall health. The four pillars of Ayurveda that can be integrated into everyday life. The four foundational components that Ayurveda seeks to keep in balance. An introduction to the three doshas—Vata, Pitta and Kapha—and how they influence every aspect of life. Change – the only constant in life and how it affects our doshas. How life stages such as menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum and menopause naturally influence the doshas. The concept of balancing life through opposite qualities and how this can be applied practically. Why digestion (Agni), healthy tissues (Dhatus) and proper elimination (Malas) are central to long-term health. The fascinating Ayurvedic understanding of reproductive tissue and its relationship to menstrual health. The healthy shade of Red - The traditional wisdom behind using cotton cloths to observe menstrual health in ancient India. Why simplicity and alignment with nature remain Ayurveda's greatest gifts in our modern world. Key Message Modern life has taught us to think about health only when something goes wrong. Ayurveda turns that idea upside down. In this Ayurvedic Basics episode, we uncover the timeless principles of Ayurveda and discover that our bodies are constantly communicating with us—through our digestion, energy, emotions, sleep, and, for women, through the menstrual cycle itself. What if learning to understand these subtle messages is one of the most empowering journeys we can take towards lifelong health and wellbeing? What This Means for You You don't need to transform your lifestyle overnight to begin living more like Ayurveda encourages. Simply start by becoming an observer of your own life. Notice the rhythms of your body. Notice the changing seasons around you. Notice the subtle ways your body responds to your daily habits. Each observation becomes another step towards understanding your unique constitution and cultivating greater balance. Ayurvedic Basics (Part 1) - From Life's Deepest Questions to Ayurveda

In This Episode What began as a simple introduction to Ayurveda took me on an unexpected journey back thousands of years. In this episode, I share how my own path into Ayurveda began through postpartum healing, only to realise that I'd unknowingly stepped onto this path many years earlier through meditation and breathwork. Together, we'll journey into the origins of the Vedic wisdom tradition and discover how ancient sages, through profound states of meditation, sought answers to humanity's deepest questions: Who are we? Why are we here? What is consciousness? As this remarkable body of knowledge unfolded, it gave rise to an extraordinary and deeply integrated framework for understanding human life—one that encompasses philosophy, yoga, meditation, breathwork, ethics, health, purpose, and ultimately our spiritual nature. The more I studied how this wisdom evolved, the more I found myself in awe. It is a breathtaking system of human and spiritual development that continues to offer profound guidance for living in harmony with ourselves, with nature, and with life itself.   We explore: How I came to discover Ayurveda. Connecting the dots—I had actually encountered this wisdom almost ten years earlier. The timeless questions that gave birth to the Vedas. The remarkable way ancient sages received profound knowledge. Yoga... beyond the mat. Why health was never separated from spirituality. How Ayurveda became the science of life. Four ancient principles that offer a blueprint for living well today. Dharma Artha Kama Moksha   Coming Next In Part 2, we return to Ayurveda itself. We'll explore the foundational principles of Ayurveda, understand the doshas, the qualities that govern balance and imbalance, and how this ancient system provides practical wisdom for supporting menstrual health and cyclical living.   Let’s Stay Connected This podcast is just the beginning. Part 2 - The Big Bleed: How to Create the Sacred Sanctuary That Shapes Mother and Child

In This Episode In Part 2 of The Big Bleed, we move from understanding postpartum as a sacred window of renewal to exploring how we can actually protect and honour it. We explore: Why birth creates profound physical, emotional, and spiritual openness from an Ayurvedic perspective How an elevated Vata dosha shapes a mother's nervous system, intuition, and capacity for healing The four pillars of Ayurvedic postpartum care: warmth, nourishment, rest, and support Why regulating a mother's nervous system is one of the greatest gifts we can give both mother and baby The importance of warm food, digestive health (Agni), and rebuilding vitality (Ojas) Why receiving support is not a luxury—but an essential part of postpartum healing How the sacred postpartum window becomes a sanctuary for bonding, identity transformation, and spiritual connection Why the first 42 days lay the foundation for recovery that continues long after postpartum What becomes possible for families, communities, and future generations when mothers are truly cared for   Key Message The sacred postpartum window is far more than six weeks of recovery. It is one of life's greatest opportunities for healing, replenishment, identity transformation, nervous system regulation, and deep connection between mother and baby. When mothers are surrounded by warmth, nourishment, rest, and support, they are given the conditions not simply to recover—but to flourish.   Why This Matters Whether you are preparing for motherhood, reflecting on your own postpartum experience, supporting someone through theirs, or simply interested in feminine wellbeing, this episode offers a completely different way of understanding postpartum. It invites us to recognize that caring for mothers is not only an act of compassion. It is an investment in the health, resilience, and flourishing of future generations.   Questions for Reflection If you are preparing for motherhood, what would creating your own sacred postpartum sanctuary look like? What support, nourishment, and boundaries would you want to put in place before your baby arrives? Realistically, as an expectant mother, what expectations do you need to release in order to fully immerse yourself in the Sacred Postpartum Window? If caring for mothers shapes the wellbeing of future generations, what role might each of us play in helping restore this wisdom within our families, communities, and society?   Continue the Conversation I'd love to hear what this episode stirred within you. Which idea challenged you the most? What insights or reflections emerged as you sat with these questions? Part 1 - The Big Bleed: The Sacred 42 Days of Postpartum Renewal

In This Episode In this episode, I explore: Why the postpartum bleed (lochia) can be understood as a woman's deepest inner winter • The connection between menstruation, pregnancy, birth, and the cyclical seasons of life • Why Ayurveda honours the first 42 days postpartum as a sacred window of healing and renewal • A simple introduction to Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and the role of elevated Vata after birth • The Ayurvedic concept of Kayakalpa and postpartum as an opportunity for profound regeneration • The relationship between postpartum recovery, long-term vitality, and menopause • Why warmth, nourishment, rest, and support are essential during the sacred 42-day window • How caring for mothers supports the wellbeing of children, families, and future generations Key Message The postpartum bleed is more than physical recovery. It is a sacred threshold of release, renewal, and rebirth. During the first 42 days after birth, a woman's body, mind, and spirit undergo profound recalibration. How she is supported during this time can shape her wellbeing for years to come. Why This Matters The Big Bleed invites us to rethink postpartum as a time that deserves reverence, not rushing. Whether you are preparing for motherhood, supporting a new mother, or reflecting on your own postpartum experience, this episode offers a deeper understanding of why rest, nourishment, and care matter so profoundly. Questions for Reflection Knowing what you now know about the sacred 42-day postpartum window, how would you like to be supported, nourished, and cared for during this profound transition into motherhood? As women reclaim the wisdom and power that have been lost for generations, how might we reimagine our families, communities, workplaces, and societies so that the sacred 42-day postpartum window is truly honoured and protected? Looking back on your own life, where might you still be carrying exhaustion, depletion, or unresolved experiences from a major life transition that was never fully honoured? What's Coming Next In the Part 2, we'll explore how to create the conditions for postpartum Kayakalpa—deep renewal and revitalization. Together, we'll dive into nervous system recovery, emotional healing, spiritual bonding between mother and child, and the qualities that help women truly replenish and flourish during the sacred 42-day window. Menstruality: The Missing Map of Womanhood

In this episode, I explore a question that sits at the very heart of this podcast: What is conscious menstruality? While many women today are becoming familiar with concepts such as cycle awareness, menstrual health, and cyclical living, conscious menstruality offers a much broader perspective. It invites us to view menstruation not as an isolated monthly event, but as part of a much larger ecosystem that accompanies a woman throughout her entire life — from menarche, through the menstruating years, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. In this episode, I share my personal definition of menstruality and conscious menstruality, and explore how reclaiming this wisdom can transform the way women understand themselves, their health, their leadership, and their role within society. In this episode, I explore: What menstruality is and why menstruation is only one part of a much larger ecosystem My lens on conscious menstruality as a lifelong journey of womanhood How women are typically introduced to menstruation and what is often left out of the conversation The connection between menarche, postpartum, and menopause as major transformational gateways in a woman's life Why postpartum and the postpartum bleed deserve far greater awareness and reverence How conscious menstruality supports the rightful blossoming of a woman's holistic wellbeing, enabling her to step into her fullest potential and ethical leadership. The Ayurvedic concept of Kayakalpa and its relationship to feminine renewal and transformation How normalizing conversations about cycles can transform families, friendships, workplaces, and communities Key Reminder From This Episode At its core, this episode is an invitation to reclaim menstruality as a source of wisdom, healing, renewal, and transformation. Because when women consciously engage with the cyclical nature of their lives, they gain access to a profound inner guidance system that has been available all along. This episode concludes with a simple but powerful invitation: begin a daily cycle check-in. Whether you are menstruating, navigating perimenopause, or living in your post-menopausal years, taking a few moments each day to notice your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual landscape can become a foundational practice of conscious menstruality. Visions of a Menstruality-Led Society: Reimagining the Future of Humanity

This episode is, by far, one of my most favorite conversations I’ve shared so far. Because I speak about a vision — a reality I feel deeply passionate about. A reality I truly believe humanity is slowly growing toward. In this episode, I explore: What a truly menstruality-led society could look like How conscious menstruality could transform family life, education, healthcare, leadership, and work Why postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause are sacred gateways — not problems to endure The importance of honoring the inner seasons of a woman’s cycle How young girls could grow up rooted in reverence rather than shame The role of feminine wisdom in creating regenerative systems and heart-based leadership The three stages of menstrual leadership: Embodied Sovereignty Relational Integrity Collective Stewardship Why the healing of women and the healing of the Earth are deeply connected The invitation for women everywhere to reimagine the future together This episode is ultimately an invitation: To imagine a world where women all over the world are able to fully live, lead, create, rest, mother, work, and age in ways that truly honor life.   Questions to Reflect On What would the world need to look like for women to truly feel honored? What systems would need to change for life to flourish? What becomes possible when women reconnect to the wisdom of their cycles? I would truly love to hear what came up for you as you reflected on these questions. Please do share your thoughts, reflections, visions, and feelings with me. A menstruality-led society cannot be imagined by one woman alone — it must emerge through the collective wisdom, voices, and lived experiences of women everywhere. Menstruation Is Not Just for Making Babies — What If It’s Your Greatest Source of Power?

In this episode, I explore: Why menstruation is not just about reproduction — and never was The deeper question: what if your cycle holds a greater form of power? How we’ve been conditioned to understand power as control, force, and domination A different definition of power — one rooted in nature, life, and creation The relationship between potential and energy — and how true power is created The masculine (Shiva) as structure, stability, and containment The feminine (Shakti) as life force, movement, and creation Why the menstrual cycle is the living expression of this creative power in women The connection between the menstrual cycle, the moon, and cyclical intelligence Menstruation as a time of renewal, integration, and intuitive guidance The four inner seasons of the menstrual cycle and the unique power within each phase Why modern life disconnects us from this intelligence What menstrual leadership actually is — and why it matters now The difference between linear, profit-driven leadership and cyclical, life-honouring leadership Why women are naturally designed for this form of leadership The first step to reclaiming your menstrual leadership: awareness Key Message Menstruation is not a problem to manage or a sign of failed reproduction. It is a living, cyclical intelligence — a source of renewal, guidance, and power. When you begin to understand and work with your cycle, you begin to access a different way of leading: one that is grounded in life, aligned with natural rhythms, and rooted in self-authority. What This Means for You This isn’t about changing your life overnight. It begins with something simple: Noticing your cycle Becoming aware of your inner shifts Starting to recognize patterns — without judgment Because awareness always comes before interpretation. And recognition always comes before mastery. What’s Coming Next In the next episode, we begin at the very foundation: Menstrual Cycle Awareness You’ll learn how to start: Tracking your cycle in a simple, practical way Recognizing patterns in your body, emotions, and energy Beginning to understand the language of your womb Let’s Stay Connected This podcast is just the beginning.
