    E.64 Fractured Fables - Another Day, Another Death

    Previously on Fractured Fables - A long rest doesn't always mean a restful night. Charlie was plagued by dreams of her mother, waking with what felt like more questions than answers. Hearing a hushed conversation downstairs, she found a very timid Astrid and a very annoyed Professor Shortsen. Astrid explained that the kitchen had been repaired, though Dick had decided he wasn't quite ready to return to work after almost being eaten. She quickly made her escape. Professor Shortsen was less patient. He didn't have time for questions, but he did have a list of items he needed from the Bastion of Saint Vey. And with that, Charlie was left alone in the Magic Shop. Everett, meanwhile, had a much more peaceful night's sleep. She woke to freshly baked cookies, and a note asking her to dinner. After a brief moment of happiness, she asked Styx to check on Jack, who was still lost after their encounter with the mirrors. Siddy woke up feeling a little more comfortable in her newly expanded bedroom and managed to have a brief—but much-needed—conversation with Granny Tia. Then she set out to find a small gift to show her appreciation for everything Liam had done for the party. Ami's morning was considerably more adorable. Holey had been successfully trained, and at this point was far more mastiff than mimic. With a strict feeding schedule in place, Ami could finally relax knowing Holey was unlikely to eat a kitchen horse. On her way out, she collected her mail: A book for book club. And letters from Olivia. Only this time, the letters weren't entirely from Olivia. While the party had been away, the Blood Mage had found the body they had been searching for. And whatever was living inside Olivia had made sure her sister knew it.     E.63 Fractured Fables - Tired Nights and Rough Mornings

    Previously on Fractured Fables— The party found themselves packed into an elevator with Tittus and, for some reason, Poppy Cox. Charlie’s favorite dancer. No one had time to question it. Morty burst into the elevator, knocking Ami and Siddy to the floor as he screamed the news: Charlie had fallen through space and time. Everett, forced to postpone a long-overdue reunion with her old employer, reached out to Liam for help. He had no idea where Charlie had ended up, but falling through the sea of time wasn't exactly a common occurrence. After a conversation about cookies, a promise to meet at Liam's new office—not PiPi Salva's—and a whole lot of trust, Everett left Charlie in Liam's hands and returned with the others to 32B. Charlie, meanwhile, was trapped in the past. A memory of the Magic Shop, with Volty still working the register, led Charlie into a conversation with her mother, Victoria. And then came the horrifying realization: Charlie finally learned what happened the day Volty died. Before Liam could pull her from the past, Victoria reminded Charlie of everything she seemed determined to ignore about the group. Every mistake. Every secret. Every reason not to trust them. And little by little, Victoria began planting seeds of doubt in Charlie's mind. Back in 32B, Charlie was finally reunited with the party. But Liam looked considerably worse for wear. He quietly asked Charlie not to tell the others anything before disappearing just as the door opened. Time, after all, is a fickle thing for those who know how to wield it. With the party reunited and decidedly worse for wear, PiPi Salva asked for only one thing from the backpack before sending them home for a long night's rest. Nothing bad can happen while we're sleeping. Right?     Previously on Fractured Fables - The party quickly learned the Inquisitor had no interest in conversation. His only goal was clear: stop magic users at any cost. As the battle raged, Siddy appealed to his sense of righteousness, while Everett tried to convince him they shared a common goal: preventing magic from destroying the world. Neither worked. With the Inquisitor armed with a seemingly endless supply of anti-magic relics, Charlie searched for another way out. And then she realized the truth: The Inquisitor was trapped in a time loop. The party didn’t need to defeat him. They just needed to walk away. And so they did. They found a conveniently placed backpack beside an elevator, where Tittus was waiting to escort them back to Office 32b. But Charlie, apparently incapable of leaving well enough alone, reached for the map. She missed. And suddenly, Charlie began falling through time. Can the party pull her back? Or is Charlie lost somewhere in the past, present, or future… forever?     E.61 Fractured Fables - An Unbeatable Fight

    Previously on Fractured Fables - Trying to save Everett, who the party found frozen inside the room of mirrors, Ami rushed in—only to be confronted by her father. Realizing this was no ordinary room of mirrors, Siddy followed. Siddy, hearing the voices of her parents, quickly understood what the room was showing them: regrets made manifest. Rather than face hers, she did what any reasonable person would do and decided to break the mirrors. Meanwhile, Charlie—assisted by the ghostly form of Morty—discovered the source of the room's power: a lantern hanging from the ceiling. With dagger skills so spectacular that even Everett would have been impressed, Charlie hurled her dagger and extinguished the lantern, breaking the spell and freeing the party from the mirrors. Naturally, the party stole the lantern before moving on. Their path led them to a courtyard containing a well, with a mysterious bell hanging above the water. After several ideas—and eventually deciding that the simplest solution was to just grab the bell and put it away—the party watched as a wall opened before them. Behind it was a map of an unfamiliar land. Cities had been marked off across it, accompanied by a single ominous word: CONTAINMENT. Before they could investigate further, a tall, blindfolded man appeared behind them. He calmly informed the party that they were expected. And with a massive sword strapped to his back, the question becomes— Is this a welcome… or a warning?     E.60 Fractured Fables - Sick Dagger Skills

    Previously on Fractured Fables - The party found themselves facing yet another puzzle, because apparently the Bastion has decided that fighting things is too easy. Everett sent Grim in to investigate. Grim did not survive the investigation, but his sacrifice did inspire Charlie to try the revolutionary strategy of throwing rocks at the puzzle. Everett, despite having an entire bag of ball bearings that could have made things considerably easier, chose to sit back and watch Charlie figure it out herself. Eventually, Everett took over and successfully navigated the puzzle, guiding the rest of the party safely to the other side. There, Siddy discovered a railroad spike threaded with cracking silver lines. She also discovered that the spike apparently does not appreciate magical storage, as her Bag of Holding refused to open. Thankfully, Ami's completely ordinary bag worked just fine. The party continued down a hallway and found a red door marked with a single carved eye. Beyond it waited a room filled with mirrors. Everett bravely stepped forward—and was confronted by her past. Now the party must solve the riddle of the mirrors, uncover what the Bastion is showing Everett, and somehow free her from whatever is waiting on the other side. Can the party solve the puzzle? Can Everett face her past? And will Charlie manage to leave the room without picking up another mysterious object?     E.59 Fractured Fables - The Puzzle Palace

    Previously on Fractured Fables - The party discovered that magic inside the Bastion comes with a high risk and very little reward, thanks to a nasty psychic backlash. Moving outside into a courtyard filled with mysterious statues, they decided that investigating was apparently less important than having a conversation and were promptly attacked by a new and decidedly more aggressive version of animated armor. During the fight, Everett tested out her new dagger, only to discover that the weapon has opinions about how it should be used. Deeming Everett’s technique improper, the dagger sprouted tiny weenie-dog legs and ran away, judging her the entire time. Thankfully, it eventually returned to help finish the fight. Meanwhile, Siddy finally snapped. Her usually calm demeanor disappeared as she raged her way through an animated suit of armor, beating it into a pile of magical scrap. With the courtyard quiet once more, the party finds themselves deeper inside the seemingly abandoned Bastion. Will they make it through in one piece? Will anyone figure out what exactly is going on with the silver chain now wrapped around Charlie’s wrist? And, most importantly… Will Charlie please stop picking up mysterious objects she has absolutely no idea what they are?     E.58 Fractured Fables - In a Palace of Whispers

    Previously on Fractured Fables - Before leaving, Charlie did the responsible thing and cast Sending to Astrid with one very important message: Dick quit. Unfortunately, Astrid's response was less than helpful. Instead of reassurance, explanations, or even a simple “What the hell happened?”, Charlie heard music. And that was it. Astrid never made it back to the shop before the party headed out to meet Ingrid—their portal to the Crossroads. On the way, Siddy decided to put her hagstone to use, revealing what the party actually looks like through fey-touched eyes. Because apparently discovering who among your friends has been touched by the Fey is a perfectly normal thing to do before walking into another dimension. The party arrived at the Crossroads only to find that something was different. Not wrong, just changed. And waiting for them was a familiar face: PiPi Salva. From there, the party stepped through to the Bastion, ready to find whatever the Crossroads had sent them toward this time. Then Ami used magic. And somewhere in the Bastion… A bell rang.     E.57 Fractured Fables - One More Look Won't Hurt

    Previously on Fractured Fables - Holey's ambitious attempt to eat Dick the kitchen horse ended about as well as you'd expect. For Holey. The mimic nearly got itself killed, while Dick deeply offended by the entire ordeal and perhaps questioning every career decision he'd ever made, announced he was done. Insulted, underappreciated, and almost eaten on the job, the tiny centaur quit on the spot. The chaos wasn't without consequence. Holey's resemblance to another mimic dredged up painful memories for Siddy, forcing her to confront wounds she'd rather have left buried. Once the dust settled, the party received their next assignment. While everyone else prepared for the journey ahead, Siddy buried herself in research, piecing together everything she could about their destination and proving that sometimes the greatest weapon is simply being prepared. Ami was able to reach Aunti Sepi who made an unexpected offer. Her hubsand Fester will help train—or perhaps just tolerate—Holey, giving the hungry mimic someone willing to take on the challenge. Before departing, everyone took a quiet moment to write letters to the people they cared about, one last connection before stepping into the unknown. And Everett? Everett got a very cool new dagger.
