    The Vanishing Black Family: What Went Wrong?

    "Happy wife, happy life" is one of the most repeated pieces of marriage advice in America. Delano Squires thinks it's backwards — and he explains why in about ninety seconds that will reorganize how you think about your household.   Squires is director of the Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Human Flourishing at the Heritage Foundation and author of The Vanishing Black Family: How Welfare and Feminism Made Marriage Optional and Children Vulnerable (Sentinel/Penguin Random House). He's back on Disturbing the Peace, and John spends a full hour on chapter three alone — the chapter Squires says is the most controversial in the book.   That chapter is about second wave feminism. Squires is careful about what he's arguing: not the right to vote, not property ownership, not work or education. He's surgical about it.     Woman Cancels Dentist Over Bibles, D9 Secret Service Agent Charged & Heroic Teen Lifeguard Honored

    A 29-year-old Secret Service agent is under house arrest facing felony charges over an alleged fraternity hazing at the University of Miami that authorities say nearly killed a pledge. Bishop Patrick L. Wooden Sr. has been saying for years that these organizations don't belong anywhere near a believer. He isn't backing off.   Marquez Pinder is charged with attempted manslaughter with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, and hazing with a deadly weapon. According to the arrest warrant, two pledges of Kappa Alpha Psi were beaten with paddles and canes after missing questions about fraternity history. One required skin grafts and, per authorities, would have died of kidney failure without hospitalization. Another was intubated. Pinder is on administrative leave. His attorney has publicly called the case grossly overcharged and says Pinder served his country honorably. The university and the fraternity's national organization have both stated the men had no current affiliation with the chapter.   John reads a document describing the ritual on air — the lash, the brand, the burning sands — and Bishop Wooden answers it with one line that reframes the whole thing: Satan requires humiliation. God requires humility.   Also on today's show:   A woman filmed herself canceling her children's dental appointment over Bibles in the waiting room, declaring this is not a Christian nation. Bishop Wooden's response isn't what you'd expect — he defends the dentist's right completely, then questions whether it was good marketing.     Pastors Expose Shocking Allegations Inside Kansas City Schools

    Two pastors in Kansas City, Kansas wouldn't let it go — and now the Department of Justice has given their school district 14 days to comply or face a federal lawsuit.   Pastor Kelly Lohrke of The Cure Church has pastored in Kansas City for 32 years. Two years ago he raised concerns about a Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (USD 500) policy allowing staff to socially transition students without notifying parents. He was told it had been resolved. Then a whistleblower walked into his office and left a thumb drive.   The videos on it show district staff discussing keeping the guidance quiet — from the public and from most of their own staff. Lohrke posted them. Libs of TikTok shared them. The Department of Education's Student Privacy Policy Office had already found in April that the district's policies violate FERPA, the federal parental-rights law. DOJ's Civil Rights Division has since moved to enforcement, with potential loss of federal funding and judicial proceedings on the table.   Lohrke's position, on the record and unchanged: he has never said anything against gay or trans students. His issue is that you cannot keep secrets from parents.   Then Pastor Jeremiah Hicks tells his own story. Hicks is an alumnus of the district — Washington High School, K through 12, with gaps for foster care. He still lives in the district. He went to the school board and testified that employees of that district abused him as a teenager, that it happened more than once, and that he has photographs. The board cut his microphone.     Ben Crump's Nolan Wells Press Conference: What Really Happened?

    At the 117th NAACP National Convention in Chicago, attorney Ben Crump announced that the independent autopsy commissioned for 18-year-old Nolan Wells came back undetermined — undetermined cause, undetermined manner, pending further investigation. Most of the country heard a setback.
